I did well on getting to bed during work weeks and not so well otherwise. Aikido Bokken time: 4/6 Um...well. I guess it wasn't an utter disaster given the holidays happened. I did my training on Saturday and Sunday so I could say I got in the last sessions of the year and made them count. I watched the ball drop from the comfort of my parents' house, because have you seen the weather lately?? Copious amounts of peppermint, chocolate, and coffee were consumed in various combinations. Urgan
Added in my training log on the report above, but here it is again: Saturday's session was something else, but I made it. 185lb deads were not as terrible as I had imagined--close, but quite lol. Sunday I ended the year on an upswing with triple digit benching action. Urgan
January 2018 Goals That time is now Well I got back on the Slo-Mag and am officially 87% less crippled as a direct result. The Survival series continues, because holy crapbaskets EOY is here and it is not disappearing until the stroke of midnight 1/31. All the bills ever both one-time and not-so-one-time are coming due. It's cold as Hell stuffed into a walk-in freezer. My birthday is tomorrow and it doesn't matter in the normal social surroundings outside of my own roof because of the timing. I need to decide if I am serious about belt testing in February. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS. Food December's macros average out to: Calories: 2327 Protein: 114 Fiber: 30 Energy has been a lot more stable as a result. I still am having headaches, though, outside of the normal blah dee blah hormonal issues. I often get headaches around 1- 1:30-ish and in the later afternoon. Driving home in the dark is just gawd-awful, y'all. My two top culprits are: water consumption and meal timing. I love to eat my lunches around 1:30 - 2 because I'm one of these OCD people who once they are on task have trouble getting off task. Boys and girls, lunch is at 12:30 now. Same macros because I think they work for me and if anything my weight is down a bit. That is going on the watch list. My water container has been 20oz (a styrofoam cup), and I get up to refill that sucker once and I do not on average drink all of that refill. Aside from gym time water bottle usage and dinner, this is the bulk of my quality water time. I got a 22oz water bottle for Christmas--unasked-for, mind you--and it's replacing the styrofoam. I think I will try 2 fills of this bottle per day, which does not include water from other sources, and see what that buys me. This is mainly a workday issue, on weekends I am surgically attached to a water receptacle. Lunch-time: 0/18 Water: 0/18 Calories: 0 Protein: 0 Fiber: 0 Sleep EOY is a thing. Do the thing. Get ready for bed at 10:30PM, out bed at 5:05AM on lifting days and 6:30AM on non-lifting days. Waived on weekends. Curfew: 0/19 Aikido Aikido needs to become a priority if I plan to belt test in February. The first week the dojo is closed, but after that I will need to seriously commit to preparing for it. Or, you know, not. This might be the worst time ever to do a test. Not sure. Started it off with sub-freezing temperatures and a rather mediocre gym session--I mean, I put in the work, but it felt just terribad given the weights involved. It's so cold I have to take special measures to try to get my nose clear long enough to get to sleep. Can't wait for the cold snotty rain forecast next week. At least last night I got to sleep rather quickly. The food and curfew rules began on the 3rd, and I nailed those. 2.5 bottles of water and lunchtime as mandated. Macros were pretty doggone good. I did not have nearly the head pain on average, but my workload was also lighter. My eyes didn't do that nighttime tired blur until most of the way home--normally it starts up at least halfway there (the commute home takes an hour, FYI). So something went right. Speaking of how things are going, outside our department is a cluster farkle. Those guys are not ready and it is going to be a mad, mad scramble for them to get it done in time and I doubt a good time will be had by anyone, shortly. Fortunately we are a bubble of sanity in a world that is pandemonium (and I am trying to stay in that bubble, please dear God do not pop the bubble). Of course, we rely on the people who are backed up with other EOY work to do our stuff, too. To speak nothing of other promises that need to be kept and well, doesn't look good ATM. Also, what is a programming freeze? It's the MOST. WONDERFUL. TIME.
