To hit my goal range of 125-135 and do it in a healthy way!Goals (diet and fitness related) that will help me achieve Main Quest: I feel like I just haven't made much progress at all the last 16 challenges. I keep losing and gaining the same 10 pounds lately... Not really sure how to fix this, but I just keep trying! Back story: All through high school I struggled to GAIN weight. I weighed 110 pounds all through high school. I am 5'2", so that's a "healthy" weight, but I really was way too thin and didn't have any muscle. Then I started having babies and started gaining weight. My heaviest was 219. I am at 207 now. I have managed over the years to diet myself down to 165 at the lowest, but it was a very unhealthy diet (around 500 calories a day) and I started losing my hair, so I decided I would rather be fat and have hair than to thin with no hair lol I am starting at week zero, because I do NOT want to take a week off. My tracking will be different this challenge. I am trying something new... I am using Zelda hearts this challenge. I thought it might be fun to change it up a little bit. I will be figuring it out as I go along... I will do weekly hearts and then average them out at the end, I guess. I will start at full hearts and change them at the end of each week! 1. #LoseBodyFat - I am changing things up a bit. I want to lose 4% body fat this challenge. I have researched and I THINK it's possible?? lol Current body fat percentage according to my new fancy-schmancy scale = 54.7% A: 50.7% - - 1 CON, 2 STR B: 51.7% - - 1 CON, 1.5 STR C: 52.7% - - 1 CON, 1 STR D: 53.7% - - 0.5 CON, 0.5 STR F: >53.7% - - 0 CON, 0 STR Ability to earn 1 CON, 2 STR = perfect week! On task = lose 1% per week. = lose 0.75% for the week = lose 0.5% for the week = lose 0.25% for the week = lose zero % for the week 2. #FitGirl - Workout 4 days a week. This will include 22 Minute Hard Corps, Girls on the Run and whatever else I want to do!! Today is already hard lol hubs and I are both off today so we had to run errands, including tagging the Harley, putting an application in at a local hotel, grocery shopping and other shopping... So, I got an interview on the spot for the hotel job. The money isn't great, but it's 15 minutes from home and full time. I'll know within the next day or 2. And it's lunchtime... So we chose the least evil place I could find, which was Jason's Deli. Got a chicken sandwich on gluten free bread and subbed a fruit bowl for the chips. And backed away from the free ice cream! Yeah, close to home definitely has it's merits. It's less money, but more hours. I have decided to take it if they offer it, and then still pursue teaching. As for 42, I have been 42 since December, I just forgot to change my age! I really like my new scale! I like being able to see the progress in so many different ways! I took today as my ONE rest day of the week. #GoPaleo: - I am going to relax just a LITTLE bit during week zero, since I am easing myself into this. So... this is my last day of my 4 day weekend. Haven't heard back from the hotel, but honestly I am super apprehensive about that job. The pay is pretty low. I feel like I am definitely worth more than what they are paying. I am still applying for jobs. I am bitter that our school district got rid of level pay and that I have to find a summer job at all. What the heck!? I did sit down and watched a movie today because I really hadn't done anything just for me during this 4 day. I watched Cujo. Wasn't as good as I remembered it as a kid lol I worked out, did Resistance 3 from 22 Minute Hard Corps! Crazy hard, but I made it!! All Paleo today! Go me!! I did lettering practice, but it was just letters, no words. I did my lettering, but again it was just letters... Did not have the energy to workout... but I can make it up! I got offered the hotel job, but decided to think on it. It's only $8 an hour and it's shady... they said I will need a taser and pepper spray... that's not really worth $8 an hour. I told them I would need at least $10 an hour and they said they can't do that, because "we don't know if you'll be good at this..." Oh, OK, so it's not that you CAN'T pay me that, it's that you WON'T! As for the lettering stuff, I invested in the intermediate course at http://www.learnlettering.com I LOVE Sean McCabe and eventually want to take the master class... but I can't afford it yet. The intermediate was $299!! YIKES! lol There is a FREE starter class though that's pretty cool as well! The master class gives you all the business stuff which is what I will need once I get good at lettering! The things I ate that weren't paleo today were: - a strawberry soda: it is staff appreciation day and they brought in Chik-fil-a, which I did not eat, but they also brought in pop and it's hard to resist a free pop lol - french fries: we went to bike night. I got burnt ends and fries - a diet coke: again at bike night So, cheat day? Or just do 80% paleo daily? It's interesting to see the difference on my scale when I eat good versus when I don't lol #FitGirl: - I walked yesterday, got my 10,000 steps. Nothing on Wednesday. So, I only have done 2 workouts so far this week. I have 2 days to make it up. #GoPaleo: - One day of cheating so far! Not too bad! #LearnLettering: - I went to bike night last night and just didn't take the time to do it. Woops!! I have some good news! I went to my principal at school and asked her to sign the paperwork for my teaching certification course, and she did and then gave me the name of our certification gal and said to talk to her about Kansas certification (I live in Missouri, but work in Kansas) and then said, "because I WILL hire you!!" That made me feel so GOOD!! Like all the teachers there love me and say I would make a great teacher, but for my principal to say it!! So much validation!!! The worst case scenario is that I have to get my Missouri license and work in Missouri for a year before I can transfer to a Kansas license. I'd rather just teach in Kansas at this point, since I already have a job lined up lol Ok, so tonight is X's band concert, then the hubs and I are going to see our favorite Rockabilly band play at the local pub. I DOUBT a workout will happen, which is why I said I have TWO days (Saturday and Sunday, since I am a Monday starter!). It's all good!! I think I'm going to lower my exercise goals a bit, because I think I'm being unrealistic with how tired I am all the damn time. I'll post in the morning. It's usually on the low side, so I thought maybe it was lower than normal. But it was 183/118. I wasn't doing anything strenuous, I was just sitting down getting ready for work. I tested it twice more this morning and it was better: 153/100 and 120/78. I texted my husband and he said I needed to go to my doctor TODAY. So I messaged her and am waiting for a response. ScoutSays Posted May 11, 2016 Author Report Share Posted May 11, 2016 Over 2 hours at the doctor. Blood pressure was fine. Ekg was fine. She drew blood and got urine. I won't know anything until at least tomorrow evening. There are leukocytes in my urine, which could mean uti, bladder or kidney infection, but I'm not having any pain in that area... But sometimes my kidneys hurt. With that and the fatigue, there's the possibility of lupus. But could just still be my thyroid. Could be both. She said it's definitely not normal being this tired and not being able to lose weight. She might send me to an endocrinologist. Who knows?
