SkiBlue
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Back again with my basic challenge structure and its Mando theme. Because I WANT TO BE A MANDO MERC! As previously mentioned, I will be adding a co-op element to this challenge. I’ve listed the ways in which I can earn points this challenge (the same way I was grading before in the same structure), but with the goal points already calculated, the co-op elements will help earn points toward the goal (like in @Wild Wolf's previous challenge). The co-op players’ goals will stem from whatever mercenary job is running that week. Four weeks, four jobs. See you around the galaxy! Main Goal: To decrease body fat percentage by 5% through good habits and to build up a Ranger attitude of self-love and confidence. Haili cetare (Eat Well): GOAL 100 POINTS Clean Meal Eat breakfast in the AM Stick to packed lunches during the week When eating office candy, break off ¼ to toss, eat rest; increase to ½ at 2 week mark Nuhoyir (Sleep Well) : GOAL 60 POINTS Bedtime window of 10pm to 10:15pm Do NOT return to bed after alarm is shut off Verd ori'shya beskar'gam (Move Daily): GOAL 80 POINTS Pomodoros movement during extended sitting periods Capoeira class Acrobatics class Stretching/Yoga Bodyweight REPs Weight lifting Shereshoy (Love Daily): GOAL 60 POINTS Mando kit work Self-love/Confidence Meditation Journal/Tracking Food/Sleep/Mood Spread the Love Open Gym/Instrument Practice There's still time to sign up! SkiBlue
MERCENARY DATABASE Name: Rok'chu 'Killjoy' M'uqeejaz (@Rurik Harrgath)Species: JawaAppearance: Diminutive and swathed in heavy brown robes, face hidden, and glowing eyes. Wears an impossibly enormous and heavy rucksack full of gadgets and weaponry.Primary Skills: As a pint-sized engineer of some renown,Weapons & Equipment: T-21 heavy blaster rifle, modified a weighted stock and two-point sling to suit his frame, a cobbled-together junker-axe, tinkering tools, and various piecemeal gadgets, tokens, and trinkets of varying usefulness within the recesses of his rucksack.Going Rate: Negotiable, but only accepts jobs which suit his twisted, impossible-to-decipher honor code.Short Bio: Rok'chu, or Killjoy as he prefers to be called, is the product of unfortunate biomedical test trials. After months or years of being subjected to hundreds of medical enhancements, injections, and chemical processes which increased his strength and constitution immeasurably, a mechanical translator which relays his voice beneath the standard chips and gabbing of Jawa-speak, a mysterious laboratory explosion destroyed the facility which had been his home on an unknown planet. Killjoy only survived because his cage had been fusion-wielded and endured the explosion, weakening just enough to allow the jawa to escape and make for greener pastures. Now he seeks fame and fortune, hiring himself out to whichever job best suits his grim personality. Name: Toth'iwolo'vaiwi (goes by "Toth") (@WorldSparrow)Species: ChissAppearance: Blue Humanoid, Red Eyes, Close cropped blue hair. Black form fitting suit with dark grey composite armor plates. Primary Skills: Strategy, Building traps, Close Quarter Combat, Slicing (computers/electronics)Weapons & Equipment: Blaster Carbine, Slicing equipment, Vibroknife. Also has large cache of explosives, non-lethal, and other components with which to build traps. Going Rate: Carefully judges any job for it's risk/payoff ratio. Has a threshold of maximum acceptable risk, and will do anything less than that if paid the right amount. He doesn't waist any time, if there isn't a good paying job he will take a easy small payoff one. Short Bio: When Toth was young he discovered that too many people, even among the pragmatic Chiss, waist their time and lives by jumping from task to task - or by risking to much or little at a time. Ever since that point he has systematically made choices strategically to gain skills, money, and power. Is still young, and has just started on his journey, but he also doesn't want fame and tries to keep his name relatively secret. Only allowing those who need a smart bounty hunter to know his name. Name: Rydemar "Ryder" Harcuss (@Wild Wolf) Species: Human male Appearance: tall, lean, lengthy golden-copper hair. Wears lots of blacks and tans and some red and the occasional blue and dark green. Left arm is cybernetic. Left eye has been replaced with enhanced cybernetic eye for additional scanning abilities to pick up heat signatures and other various signatures. Primary Skills: DIY/crafting (armor and weapons), skilled marksman, fast, tactician Weapons & Equipment: Twin blaster pistols, rocket boots, custom made armor Going Rate: Somewhat new to the bounty hunter game and as of now takes most jobs. He has a weakness for the damsel in distress. Short Bio: Not much is known about Ryder. He is relatively new to the Bounty Hunter game. He hasn't taken many big jobs in his short stint as a BH, but his skills with a blaster are already renowned. He's known for being highly creative and thinking outside the box. Name: Kin Iasti (@Shadri) Species: Vahla Appearance: Tall, brownish-grey skin, bluish-grey eyes, dark grey hair; wears primarily black and red Primary Skills: Force sensitive, distance shooting, hand-to-hand Weapons & Equipment: some kind of pistol, four daggers hidden in various places on her person Going Rate: Depends on the job, but she's had trouble finding work, so she's a little desperate at times. Short Bio: Grew up immersed in Valha culture, but after being introduced to other people and cultures around her local star system, she decided she didn't like the beliefs of her family. Disowned for her apostasy, Kin hitched a ride on a ship to a different star system altogether and began to take whatever work she could find. Eventually got in with a mercenary group because they promised good pay, and discovered that she had a knack for it. Takes on small merc jobs whenever possible, which isn't nearly often enough, and does other odd jobs to fill the cracks. Name: Kean Havik (@Aquamom) Species: Nautolan Appearance: Blue female Nautolan, taller than average female nautolan with strong athletic build. Primary Skills: Hand-to-hand combat; slicing; incendiary logic & wit; deadly with spears. Weapons & Equipment: Although she prefers using her own brute strength, Kean Harvik, is adept at using throwing knives, darts and shortened spears that can also be used in hand-to-hand combat (dual-wield). If there is no other option, she not opposed to using a blaster. Going Rate: Negotiable, but tends to be swayed if there is a sense of justice in completing the job. Also enjoys espionage (corporate or political) and intelligence gathering so might be willing to do those jobs for slightly less (but she doesn't let that get out). Short Bio: Kean Harvik grew up on Glee Anselm. Both academically and athletically gifted she had her pick of higher education facilities and careers. She eventually chose to pursue a legal career but quickly became sickened with the underlying politics, especially in the criminal justice systems. A few years into her career, she got wind of a bounty being offered for a particularly cruel and abusive prosecutor; there was a bonus the hunter could also obtain the proprietary legal research algorithms used by the prosecutor's office. Havik decided she was fed up with the justice system and tried her hand at this job, succeeding and gaining the substantial payout. While she rarely practices in open court anymore, relying instead on bounty hunting, she does keep an office open for "appearances." Name: Rawlwarr (@Broba Fett) Species: Wookiee Appearance: 7'3", jet black fur, several bald streaks on arms and chest where he has been scarred. Primary Skills: Stealth, hand to hand, intimidation, skilled marksman. Weapons & Equipment: His claws (when he's being sneaky), a vibrogreataxe, scoped Czerka Arms slugthrower w/ suppressor. Going Rate: Raughhhhaurralllllr! Short Bio: Rawlwarr's mate was murdered by a group of hunters one day while they were hunting the Shadowlands on Kashyyk. It will never be known whether they were actually attempting to bring home a wookiee-skin rug or if it was a bad shot, as Rawlwarr flew into a rage and killed the entire party with his bare claws. Coming from a fundamentalist tribe, Rawlwarr was branded a Madclaw, irrespective of the circumstances, and banished from the tribe. Catching a ride off off-planet with some merchants, Rawlwarr's animalistic stealthiness, brute strength, and profiency with an old-school bolt action slugthrower quickly got him drawn into mercenary circles on Nar Shaddaa. Since then his existence has consisted of taking jobs to buy enough Alderaanian Ale to dull the pain of losing the love of his life. Loading... 3 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment
SkiBlue
BACKSTORY First Entry: Upon hearing the abrupt blaster fire, Zamira Kelborn activated her personal cloak, shielding her red wine and gold Mandalorian armor from anyone within eyesight. Even though it deceived the eye better than scanners, it would at least work for a little while. Zamira strode through the hallway with soft footfalls, unsure of what she would find. She could hear faint murmurs of dialogue a little ways off. As she turned the corner, a loud crash echoed from the end room, but the only thing she could see was the two bodies of Weequay pirates sprawled on the floor in front of the open door. Nimbly, she walked up and crouched by the door to get a good view. A bounty hunter also clad in Mandalorian armor stood in front of the now toppled table, pointing a bull-pup railgun at the chest of pirate captain Hondo Ohnaka. The floor around them was littered with spilled credits. Hondo’s face never gave way to fear, even as he looked past the rifle barrel into the visor of the bounty hunter. “So how about you put down that gun, eh? You are outnumbered,” Hondo bargained, as though he was in the middle of a round of sabacc with the upper hand. “There’s not another life form within thirty clicks. Either they aren’t here or they died from your incessant blathering,” the bounty hunter pointed out, voice laced with angry boredom. “Again, so nasty. But you are thorough. I could use someone like you. How much do I have to pay you?” “I’m already getting paid.” As the two conversed, Zamira expertly entered the room without a sound. She circled around the perimeter of the room, making her way towards Hondo. “Then I’ll pay you half,” Hondo continued. “It is a good deal. You should take it.” Zamira shook her head to suppress her laughter. “You are a terrible businessman,” the bounty hunter chastised. “That’s why I’m always looking for business, and do you know what’s good business? Jedi. I know where you can find some Jedi. They rake in lots of money.” The cloaking field around Zamira tingled at the same time a blip sounded from the bounty hunter’s gauntlet. He whirled around, drawing a pistol with his free hand, covered in a clawed gauntlet, and fired down the open hallway. Zamira kept herself out of the bounty hunter’s line of sight, despite still being cloaked. “Jumpy, aren’t we?” Hondo asked him. “I didn’t know you were afraid of Jedi ghosts. I don’t blame you; they would scare me too. Let us unite against the Jedi ghosts!” The bounty hunter almost snorted, turning back to Hondo. “You really don’t know when to quit, do you?” “I never quit, unless it benefits me. Then I will always quit,” Hondo explained. The bounty hunter turned his head back to the hallway. “Turn off the cloaking. I want to see your face splatter against the wall.” Zamira paused in her stalking. “Cocky, aren’t we?” “Tip of the iceberg,” he replied as he holstered his pistol and swept the room with his scanners. “Honesty. That’s an unexpected virtue,” Zamira chimed before switching directions, making sure to keep at least two arms’ length away. Hondo looked around for a moment before addressing the bounty hunter again. “Well, it seems like you two have some business to handle. I will leave you to that. I hope you have as bad a day as mine,” Hondo bid, then slipped away through a break that was obviously a false wall. “If you were here for the money, you’re letting it get away,” Zamira said as she pulled free her stun baton from her belt, making her way to the bounty hunter’s right side. “He wasn’t worth much to start with.” The bounty hunter shook his head. “The credits he left on the floor probably add up to more. But enough about him. Let’s talk about you,” he continued, switching from angry boredom to lilting charm. “What motivated you to go get yourself killed this morning?” “Oh, well aren’t you just the fun house of sarcasm and bravado?” Zamira chuckled. “More of an asylum than a fun house, but at least I’m having fun, right?” “Have your fun somewhere else. I need that contact.” As Zamira moved around toward her prime position, the bounty hunter flipped a switch on his belt. Ray shields cascaded over the open door to the hallway. “Tsk tsk, mind your manners,” he chastised. “You cut into this dance. You can’t just leave before the first waltz.” He flipped another switch, filling the room with soft, orchestral music. Underneath her helmet, Zamira rolled her eyes. “Classy, but a waste of my time. I’m certainly not dressed for it.” Ready to strike, Zamira dropped her cloak inches away from the bounty hunter, swinging the activated stun baton at his neck. In a shocking display of agility, the bounty hunter spun his torso and caught the baton with his claw, which quickly drained its power. He lifted the baton up and over, making Zamira abandon the weapon and sink down to sweep at the man’s knees. When they didn’t budge, she hissed and rolled away, reactivating the cloak. “Who in the galaxy has their mag boots on in a place like this?” she inquired. “Someone who spends way too much time preparing for scenarios that never happen.” Zamira’s frustration and pain started getting the better of her. She groaned. “Ugh, I can practically hear you grinning. How do you fit that much smugness under one helmet?” “Should I give you a better chance? Here.” The bounty hunter reached up and pulled off his helmet, revealing a short mane of ebony hair, gleaming purple eyes that matched the fine color of his armor, and that cursed smug smirk. “No helmet. Take your shot. It’s not like I could see it coming.” Zamira’s fingers passed over the surface of her Verpine shatter pistol, but she left it in its holster. He’s lucky purple’s one of my favorite colors, she mused. “What’s wrong? No lethal tools in your tool belt?” he taunted. Zamira smiled. Just like Hondo, she thought. “How does a bounty hunter make a living without making a killing? How’s that work?” he pressed. “I don’t need blood on my hands or my money.” “Then we’re at a good ol’ fashion standoff,” he proclaimed, running the claw through his hair. Zamira swore that there was a small flourish to the simple gesture. “If I stay grounded, your stun weapons aren’t worth droid scrap. But to do that, I can’t move. Eventually, someone’s going to have to give.” Zamira crossed her arms over her chest, even though she couldn’t be seen. “Then what would be your price for letting me leave?” In response, the bounty hunter turned off his music, then the ray shields, and finally his mag boots. “You owe me a dance,” he crooned as he turned and walked down the hallway, Zamira’s dead stun baton still clutched in his claw. “Then lead on, partner,” Zamira murmured, making her way toward the cutaway panel that Hondo escaped through. When the bounty hunter disappeared down the hall, she slipped through, giving her cloak a much-needed break. LOADING... 1 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

SkiBlue
I hate to admit it, but I skipped class last night due to leg pain that has decided to stick around for another day. I have no idea where it came from or what caused it, but after I squat and put weight on my right calf, EVERYTHING about my leg below my knee hurts for the next hour+. I had the Husband try to pin roll out whatever it was; that was excruciating and only managed to dull the pain because of the intensity of the pain from the rolls. On a positive note, I've been doing well not going back to sleep after my alarm goes off, in preparation for the challenge to start. Now to spend some time working on challenge prose (while work is a bit slow). 3 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

Last Friday, I had a friend living in Japan message me at 5:50am, asking me if I was actually awake when my alarm went off. That definitely kept me from crawling back in bed. This morning, I got lucky (or unlucky, however you wanna look at it); both my alarm and bladder ganged up on me at the same time, so I had no choice but to stay up. tourennatrix
Re: your leg, have you slathered it with analgesics yet? I typically use icy hot/theragesic for certain types of pains. For others (that feel more like traumas I think? It's hard to tell how I make the distinction!) I'll use arnica ointment (in both cases massaging the crap out of the offending area, as well as above and below into the connective tissues) Alternatively, not at the same time as either of these(!!!), uncomfortably hot baths have been a life saver for my legs lately. Best of luck! 1 Quote Link to comment
