Welp, they are installing the new WH between 1 and 3 today, so that is good, atleast no more cold showers. I have the ability to work from home which is really nice for situations like this too. I didn't bring my lunch today, but I also didn't stress eat like a mad woman so I guess they balance out. Also on the plus side, working from home and someone installing water heater, I'll probably get some cleaning time in today..... bright side? lol

Morning all, had a nice hot shower this morning which is nice, no flooding in the garage to deal with either. Work is hell but, not much I can do about that. Still pretty on track on most stuff at least not to fail lol. That is the important part. I refuse to give money to PETA. Still just over two weeks left in the challenge, I think I can pick some of this up and finish with at least passing scores. The two things I need to focus on are cleaning, and writing out my to-do's. I've finished the projects I aimed to do, which is the easy part honestly. Crafting is my time sink. The thing you can do all the time if you could and time just passes by. I find it hard to not craft, and spend time cleaning and doing other things. 

 

On another note, I went over my to do list for the wedding last night. It's pretty scary. Next challenge is probably going to be ALL wedding prep.

Keep it up! I'm not a fan of PETA either so I'm really cheering for you to pass! Have you considered tying cleaning in with your crafting? Since crafting is so rewarding for you, you might be able to do something like "if I clean for twenty minutes, I can craft for an hour," or something like that. I did that with reading and eating once because, well, I could sit/lay there all day reading... :D

Well this weekend has managed to completely suck yet again. I got a bit of cleaning done, and a blog post, but mostly I've just been doubting everything I've ever known and not counting any of my calories. I'm really rethinking my goals, and thinking about what goals I want to do next challenge instead of focusing on this challenge. The things that matter to me, all of the things I want to work on seem to change daily, and I don't have time for all of them. How can you concentrate on one type of thing, when there are hundreds of other really cool things to look at too.

I know that feeling. Something I found that helped out with focus is when I think of something I want to do for myself or for next month's challenge, I write it down. That way I have a list of things to do in the future while also keeping focused on this month's challenge. To help keep the focus I think of that list and keep in mind that this month's challenge is a stepping stone to more fun stuff. Hope that ramble makes sense and helps a little.

 

Otherwise keep it up! You're doing great :)

I have decided to add a mini challenge. Including yesterday, which I was successful at this, I have 14 days/ Two weeks for this mini challenge. 

 

Nothing but water past 9pm

Late night snacking and drinking cause a lot of empty calories, time to cut this out. 

 

14=A 13=B 12=C 11=D 10 or less=F

TBD. I need something to help keep me motivated for this but don't know what yet :)

Good luck on the mini challenge! @dustoff has a no-evening-snacks goal in his current challenge too. I'm in the same boat as both of you - it's so easy to eat well all day and then eat 400+ unnecessary calories late at night due to restlessness or stress or social situations or whatever. I know you said nothing but water, but for me part of what helps fend off late night snacking is a nice pot of herbal tea (no caffeine) and I don't put sugar or milk in it or anything so it's no calories.

 

Getting discouraged with challenges around the midway point seems pretty common, from what I've seen on the forums. Just push forward as best you can - soon it'll be the last week and you might get the motivation for a final sprint. And even if the challenge is only a partial success, finishing at all is a win. And even if you didn't 100% your goals, you probably did better this month than if you weren't doing the challenge at all.

Dude I am doing the same thing this 2 weeks (8pm for me).  I do so well during the day, but that night time boredom comes and *POP* goes the empty calories down my feeding hole.  From your calorie intake it seems like your doing great already so I bet this will help keep that calorie goal of yours.  I'll be following to see how you do.

Thanks everyone. Severine I agree, finishing the challenge is really the ultimate goal. Worst case scenario really, I learn more about myself. Also, yes, tea would be acceptable. I should say no calories after 9pm lol.

Yesterday was a really good day and I stuck to my mini goal. I also got a lot of cleaning done and started a new cleaning regimen that should allow  me to succeed at that goal. Also, with Memorial day weekend, I have friends coming over so, serious motivation there lol. I've even been decorating the house and making improvements, which just makes me want to clean and enjoy my home even more. I'm finally figuring out this part of my challenge I think. 

 

Yesterday I had a friend say that he had something he needed to tell my fiance and I in confidence (not at work) and wanted to go out to lunch. So, although I brought my lunch and planned to do that, life got in the way. It tends to do that. Oh well we do what we can. Calories were terrible yesterday but the point is simply to track them.

Fun story for those following along on the crazy train, My fiance and I literally got to break out of our own bedroom this morning. Weeeee. The mechanism inside of the door handle broke and we had to pry it open. Fun adventures. We'll be going to lowe's to replace all of the 40 year old knobs in the house.

Thanks Dreamspin, and Severine, you are not wrong... Trust me we heard all the jokes by the time we got to work in the morning lol. 

 

So after work consisted of spending an hour changing out all of the old door knobs. I'm considering it improving the home and there for cleaning time. I wasn't feeling very good so I went to lay down about 8:30, before I'd even eating anything for dinner, and just passed out. Didn't get up till the alarm went off and Eric even snoozed it for 30 minutes. On the plus side, I'm feeling a bit better, and didn't get a chance for late night snacking lol.

Holy cow!  You are certainly having challenges during this challenge.  Although, having to escape your own room is a good story! Keep going - those door knobs count as cleaning!  And having people over is always a motivator for cleaning!

Hey still here Severine, I actually forgot to post yesterday >< Anyways, I'm doing alright in my last week. I'm probably going to finish with a C for the month which, is not what I was hoping for but, eh. Next challenge will have very different goals. But hopefully I'll keep up with some of the cleaning habits I've formed this challenge. I'm still hoping to get another howto or two done before the end of the challenge to bump up my score a bit, and looks like I'm gonna ace the cleaning. I've actually started working out as well (I know jumping the gun) but that is going to be the focus of next challenge. Working out and being healthy, and getting stuff done for the wedding. I've gone full wedding mode lol

Not only did I complete my new how-to, I did it on instructables, entered a contest with it AND got featured by the intructables team with it. Boo-Ya

 

AAAAANyways. I'm hoping to finish another how-to or two before the time is up. I'm still working out which wasn't part of the challenge but has helped immensely. Been a pretty good couple of days. So much wedding prep.... 

Only two more days in the challenge, and I look forward to the next one. I believe I'll be switching over tot he Monks, but I hope not to lose track of the awesome friends I've made this challenge. Follow me, I'll follow you :)

Thanks! And yea, life definitely happens :/ I think I was a bit too specific and not flexible enough in my goals this first challenge. Definitely something I will take with me into the next challenge. I'm very pumped about what I've learned here and can't wait to give it another shot.
