\m/ Being more awesome and successfull \m/

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow nerds and welcome to my third bad ass challenge!

Yeah, it´s another Game of Thrones challenge...good to know it never gets boring nerding about your favourite fantasy stuff (besides Lord of the Rings of course).

I´ve been on Dracarys the past two challenges and life is getting better and better right now!

giphy.gif

Well then, what are my goals for this challenge?

There are some big deals in my life incoming or in progress:

1+2) Train to fight the mountain!

Bzr5yzGIUAA5xG2.jpg

Thx @miss_marissa you´ve been faster on that one ;) I´ve had a hard time lifting the past challenge because of several issues regarding back, knee, all from my sciatic nerve and some twisted stuff. The drugs helped so far, my osteopath will be visited this wednesday and I´ll take more care of my health from now on.

Part one:

Get back to lifting 3 times a week, do at least 2 times a week cardio and core!

"Thor" does cardio and core too, so should I! Not only does it help removing the useless surroundings of my adamantium abs, it helps me build up a strong back without issues like bitching sciatics, weird back pain and other stuff you never need.

giphy.gif

Part two:
2000kcal daily and 2g Brotein/kg of lean body mass minimum (around 140g)

giphy.gif

Do that body recomposition!

I should know better, but I´ve tried several stuff instead of being consistent. Of course without any bigger effects. That will change now!

My calorie intake to keep weight would be around 2500kcal, so I´ll take a deficit of 20% and eat a lot of brotein for noobgainz!

The goal is to loose body fat and build up some muscles. I´ve read several (scientific! no broscience bullshit!) articles about body recomposition and I´m pretty sure I can live the dream of every gym-nerd: build muscle, loose fat, at the same time. Ooooh yeah!

Level up your life 1): Be like Tyrion - be smarter and greater than the tall guys!

I´m sick and tired of my shift duty and working on getting out of it since last years summer. Registered at a advertising website, invested some money, visited workshops, bought books and I´m trying to get a job at their academy where I could start coaching people on being successful, how to use the website etc.

It´s fine right now, I could end doing nightshifts without loosing money last march, but I want more! My plan is to end my nursejob next year or reduce it to 50% maybe.

I will invest more time in my online marketing stuff and establish the stuff  I learned last weekend at the workshop about mindset and will take a look at several software stuff. The fun part about it: Most stuff can be related to normal personality improvement easily!

Be awesome and successfull! Tell the dude in the mirror every morning and before you go to bed how awesome he is! Flex your muscles, smile at him, tell him compliments about this cool outfit! Meditate and realize how awesome and freaking good looking you are! Visualize your success and work for it!!!

Yes, I will talk to myself! I will not only visualize my stuff, I will make it real! Sounds weird?

Rated R in Spoiler!!!

(Sorry for rated-R, but I couldn´t resist ;) If anybody gets offended by it, feel free to PM me to remove it)

Spoiler

3a675826cdf5fefc8bebe3bacc3acb37.jpg

Regarding the job stuff I can´t really set numbers on how to add them to my challenge, because I can´t tell myself things like "Buy that software until date X" or some. It is a long term goal, but I want to focus on it! If I´m not meditating about being successful I will for sure take a look at some new workshops etc and how to improve.

Level up your life 2): Get some social life!

I hate shift duty for a reason. You usually work when others don´t and have free time when normal people have their 9-5.

Not good!

giphy.gif

Visit friends, go out for dinner or a good old german beer or date somebody at least once a week! Take care about your social contacts the other days of the week!

giphy.gif

Of course getting drunk will be related to IIFYM (macros!!! @SpecialSundae ;) ), but  hell I´m tired of being some kind of lonely! I need to meet new people, meet my old and oldest friends again, just do something else than working, working out and surfing the NF Rebellion!

giphy.gif

Level up your life 3): Stop Bassism!

giphy.gif

I can´t tell how many bass player jokes I´ve heard this year alone...for those who aren´t musicians: bass players are by cliche dumb, have no clue about music theory or music at all and mostly considered not being a musician. It´s what I call "bassism"

Keep on playing at least 1,5 hours a week and GET THAT GODDAMN JOB AT THIS BAND!!!

I improved really great at bass playing thanks to last challenge (show that narcistic guitar junkys how to rock!) and next weeks wednesday will be my audition for a real big deal: a semiprofessional rockband! I know some of those dudes in person (one guitar player is a good friend of mine), they make great music (a mix of punk, metal and gothic) and they satisfy the nerd in me: They´ve got horrormovie-stageoutfits!

It´s like building a RPG-character, give him a story and act like him on stage! LARP for musicians!!! In one of my favourite genres (B-movie horror)!!!

Summary:

1+2) Train to fight the mountain!

Part one:

Get back to lifting 3 times a week, do at least 2 times a week cardio and core!

Part two:
2000kcal daily and 2g Brotein/kg of lean body mass minimum (around 140g)

Level up your life 1): Be like Tyrion - be smarter and greater than the tall guys!

Be awesome and successfull! Tell the dude in the mirror every morning and before you go to bed how awesome he is! Flex your muscles, smile at him, tell him compliments about this cool outfit! YASSSS!!!! GoT challenge buddies :)

You can "spoiler" tag part of a post by using the eye thingy on the formatting bar when you type/edit a post.

I'm not offended, I think it's hilarious, but someone else might be.

Good luck with your Challenge!

Besides having a crush on Hafthor, love me a bass player, just remember without John Paul Jones Led Zepplin's sound would not have been so epically awesome, without Flea Red Hot Chili Peppers would have been just another wanna be rock band, Robert Trujillo for Metallica........freaking bad ass! Bassists are the heartbeat of a band, just saying! ;)

Thx 7o7 ^_^

Bassists are the heartbeat for sure, we´re the glue between melody and rhythm! I start completing your list by Steve Harris (Maiden would be nothing without him!), Metallicas first bass player Cliff Burton (I can´t imagine where Metallica would be at when he didn´t die at that young age!)...oh I could continue till armageddon!

hmm... where is that footage of Connor McGregor trying spar with Halfthor....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aaehn1aY8Ig

Tell me, what sort of bass do you play? my pride and joy is my woodgrain orange Cort B4.

and tell me funk lives in your your heart?

Of course I know that vid, but lets be honest: Halfthor didn´t even try. He weights at least double the muscle mass of McGregor. Once grabbed, Connor would have lost.

Oh I´ve got several ones:

A BC Rich from 89 (Blue and Black snakeskin, once played by one of my favourite german bass players - Michael Müller from Jaded Heart)

A 90th Aria II (basically crap, because the wood is twisted. will be restored some day)

2 Fame Baphomet Custom (basically Mayones Low Budget basses, one black with ebony fingerboard, one white with blue LED dots in the fingerboard)

the old Steve Harris Signature Precisionbass

Aaaaand my two favourites: a Sandberg California Nighthawk VM and a Sandberg California VM in candy orange

Well..I´m a bass nerd ;)

I´m more into metal and rock of all kinds, but every bass player should have some funk in their hearts! I love to slap and groove some funky bass licks, but I´m used to play band friendly so there´s not much space for funky stuff in my rock band :D

Thx for following guys an´ girls!

Two more things regarding my challenge:

Bonus challenge: No soda!

I´m back to drinking to much of this stuff, that needs to take an end. NOW! It breaks my calorie intake, wrecks my macro%, pumps my heartrate to sprint level, disturbs my sleep schedule etc etc

Challenges in General:

I´m not satisfied with my benefits from doing great at challenges. My NF-Character can´t level up because I´m not in part of the paying rebellion, maybe I´ll stick with the old style of creating a character. Buuuut I´ve got the idea to take a character sheet from a p&p-game I like (I loved playing Vampire: The Masquerade in my youth) and create a leveling system for it. Needs some adjustment, will think about it.

Stuff helped my kick my habit.

Don´t recognize it, but that doesn´t have to mean anything. I´m a gourmet regarding soda ;)

My first challenge was about cutting it completely and I did 3 weeks or some like before breaking my streak! I just have to stop doing excuses why I drink a soda now (see signature).

As written above, if Thor would have wanted to, he would have wrecked McGregor so hard after the first grapple.

No social life = gainz? Well, it´s not that easy. If my social life is about some guys at the gym I don´t talk to, my psychpath clients and my co workers, I don´t recover from Lifting to well, get tired earlier, easier for excuses not to go to the gym...I know the storys I tell myself ;)

Time for some numbers:

Week Zero, day 1:

Didn´t lift, no cardio, no abs. Back was pretty sore and as flexible as a brickwall. At least I did my LUYL stuff and tracked my calories and protein with perfect stats (2006 of 200kcal, about 150g of protein...BAM!)

Week Zero, day 2:

Way to much carbs...I will go Lifting after work.

Haven´t been lifting yesterday because my back was still wrecked. Have been visiting my osteopath today (fun fact: She´s been at my graduate class at school, but after her marriage I didn´t recognize the new name. The world is a village...), now everything hurts but as long as the blocked nerves can recover now I´m positive. Took a long walk of 2 hours right after and will try out my lifting session this evening. Slow and steady...

Day 2 has been 2034 kcal and a freaking ton of brotein! Didn´t know how I managed to eat 200g of it, but I did.

LUYL is on the road, don´t feel like playing bass today but I´ll meet some friends tomorrow for a little BBQ :)

I´ll take a break from lifting and stuff this week, my body needs to establish the corrections from my osteopath. I feel so sore in my back and legs, my body learns to stand straight again I guess ;) Also she said I should not put to much pressure at it for now. I went for a biiiig walk after bbq with friends yesterday (about 6-7km) instead.

I just wasn´t able to track how much stuff I ate yesterday, but it was tons of meat, much "primal movement" (laying on the floor eating :D ), a big walk and only 2 beer for the taste of it. For sure not crossing the borderlines of calorie-intake.

Social life bbq was nice yesterday, though it was exhausting to be with people that keep on saying that you need (!) to speak to the girls nearby or get groupies once your in that semiprofessional band. Erm...yeah, I´m the only single person at this bbq, but I don´t NEED to, stop reminding me of it every 5minutes!

No lifting is sadness :( Sounds like you got a good plan though.

Lol.... I had a conversation with my friend yesterday, I've been in a relationship for so long I don't even know how dating works. I would probably use Tinder lol

Yeah, rehab is better than sorry but lifting. Basically that´s what I did the last 3-4 weeks: Lifting at 50-60% because it´s better than nothing. Still hurts? Meh,..just keep on lifting some weights and try out how much works My body just needed to told me how to slow down I guess ;)

Well, dating...if there´s a bigger thing to work on than my back is, then it´s probably dating ^_^

Tinder = Swipe Left.  Every time.  Right?

The most interesting advice I read was just don't worry about it.  Focus on something you enjoy.

The most awkward moment ever: Getting asked if you and your little brother (we where the only singles at that party) are a gay couple. Yeah...thx...sadly we´re in love but brothers...and straight. But thanks you think we´re a cute couple -.-

Sure, being single is freedom to a specific point. I love not being "chained" to some misery stuff, but I swear if I´ll ever hear "Why are you single, you´re such a cute/nice/good looking/amazing/sweet/whatsoever guy", I´ll turn into beastmode!

Yeah Tinder is that "Trying to get laid with every girl"-App. I don´t like such apps and stuff because of too much weird experiences (not the good exp you level up after a while). Hmm, I don´t like dating at all the last years now that I reflect...apps, forums, datingsites, speeddating etc

Nah, I prefer doing sports, gaming and bass playing until some girl stumbles over me. BassBro out

@Sam Ashen don´t worry, your comment didn´t land in the wrong throat. It´s just a longtermin issue everybody repeats the same advices over and over again, what´s not your fault! Absolutely not! I didn´t want to sound angry or frustrated because of your comment.

Regarding your picture: It´s just right and that sucks! :D It is all about your point of view! When you´re single and not happy with it, you want to be in a relationship. If you are in a relationship you want that little pieces of freedom back you had once when you lived alone. The grass on the other side is always greener ;)

It´s not that I´m unhappy with my life: I´ve got amazing friends and family, great co-workers at a solid job and another great option to get more money and more freedom when putting some effort in it. I´ve got some great buddys at band nr1 and maybe a semiprofessional band soon too. There are sooo many great things in my life and I´m really thankful for it, but then there´s one important thing missing. And I hate it that I focus on that damn spot missing, instead of just being happy about what´s awesome ;)

Time for an update:

Week zero went off without anything big happening, it´s like a tutorial for the real challenge. Since today I official day 1 week 1 I´ll get more (hell...now I´m missing the english AND the german word for what I mean...):

1+2) Train to fight the mountain!

Part one:

Get back to lifting 3 times a week, do at least 2 times a week cardio and core!

Let´s take the steam out of it. Though my back issues are still real and my osteopath told me to relax a little regarding stuff, I´ll stay with what I´ve done the past days when possible: Stay active and move much, but don´t put to much pressure on it. I went for big walks the last days, almost everytime took the stairs instead of the elevator, played a lot of tabletennis with my patients. Wednesday will be my big bass audition and I´m still making excuses why I´m not training more bass playing. I´ll focus on that stupid excuses monday till wednesday! There´s no time besides that for working out, well better said my prioritiys are on getting that damn spot in the band!!!

Part two:
2000kcal daily and 2g Brotein/kg of lean body mass minimum (around 140g)

I tracked pretty much everything and didn´t miss my Protein. Most of the times I stayed at 2000kcal, sometimes bursted it. Will stay focused.

Level up your life 1): Be like Tyrion - be smarter and greater than the tall guys!

Be awesome and successfull! Tell the dude in the mirror every morning and before you go to bed how awesome he is! Flex your muscles, smile at him, tell him compliments about this cool outfit! Meditate and realize how awesome and freaking good looking you are! Visualize your success and work for it!!!

I´m awesome, but sometimes I get down those days. Need to focus more on this...

I´ll adapt this to "Write down 3 things daily you´re thankful for and meditate"

Level up your life 2): Get some social life!

Visit friends, go out for dinner or a good old german beer or date somebody at least once a week! Take care about your social contacts the other days of the week!

As written above there is social life, but sometimes it´s awkward. Let´s get through it!

Level up your life 3): Stop Bassism!

Keep on playing at least 1,5 hours a week and GET THAT GODDAMN JOB AT THIS BAND!!!

See above.

Bonusquest: No Soda!

Meh...failed hard on daily base.
