Also, interestingly enough, I was still on Team Cap not because I don't think they need oversight but because omg, what, that is not at all the process to write and ratify an international treaty. "Doo doo doo, hi, team of super powered people! Here's a huge fucking international treaty that we, the US State Department took the liberty of writing and have somehow already convened the UN a few times to talk about it, without you noticing because you guys are busy smashing shit, and convinced a good percentage of countries want to sign it (which does not even consider the fact that these countries all have to ratify the damn thing which can take ages and ages) yet let's not at all talk about who is going to enforce this treaty, what it entails, and how the oversight panel will be chosen, but instead YOU GUYS HAVE UNTIL LIKE TOMORROW TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU WANT TO SIGN IT (Why are they signing it?! They are not individually each their own sovereign nation! Is this a separate contract they are signing? Are they volunteering to be joining UN Peacekeeping? Will they be associated with their home nations' military forces under UN Peacekeeping? Are there continued sovereignty conflict issues with their base being in NYC? WHY would you keep a base in such a highly populated area at all when it is going to be a huge target for equally powerful super villains is a whole 'nother question that has nothing to do with this movie...) 

 

Basically, they needed She-Hulk and Daredevil to lawyer up for them.

 

Also, yes, I am super into the policy implications of superpowered individuals, why do you ask?

Oh yeah, the lack of lawyers and the general "wtf that is not how do" of the politics aside.... I guess I found them all to be humongous idiots but I agreed slightly more with Toni's perspective.  Not that I'm going to rant about it in whatever way because tbh I care very minimally about MCU?  Like I go to see the films because stillskies is into them.  And I try not to throw popcorn every time they speak Really Bad Russian.

It's like.... the Russian soldiers in the flashbacks were Russian, spoke obvious Russian, etc.  But the slightly more major character who then repeated those words (leaving this vague because spoilers or something) was obviously..... not Russian.  My ears, they bleed.

 

Scarlett Johansson's Russian is also abysmal.  I needed subtitles to understand wtf she was saying at the beginning of Avengers.

He was not supposed to be Russian, just reading from a book, I think? Still, yes, throw popcorn at all the bad speakers! I enjoy the MCU and I enjoy ranting, but I'll instead just supply Chris Evans' booty (from Cap 2 because the Chris gif I'd post from Civil War is a little spoilery)

I am with you. Hollywood thinks every area of the world has one accent and one alone (which they often butcher/misidentify). In Alabama alone there are at least four discernable dialects of this thing called a southern accent. None of them are the "living la vida toothless" thing they love to drag out. Also, we're not all South Carolina  (no offense to SC, we just be different). But Hollywood hates us so that makes a kind of sense in that they're making with the mocking. Nevermind a huge country like Russia with oodles of different groups to pull from to make a big budget movie.

Day 1.3 + 1.4

Made dinner on Wednesday -- thai peanut chicken with roasted broccoli and rice.

 

Thursday, I went to a cardio conditioning circuit class of doom that involved 3 rounds of 5 stations for 1 minute:

agility ladder

side shuffle hurdles

squat jumping jacks

battle ropes

plank glute kicks

 

Between each round, run 400m, up and down 6 flights of stairs, and then side shuffle across the lawn and back 

 

So gross. My interpretation of "sprint" was "jog with a pained expression." It's okay though because I got biscuits and brisket later and then drank a bunch of IPAs at the baseball game. 

 

Cardio: 1/2 sessions 

Condition: 2/2 circuits

Climb: 1/1, 1/3 flex hang session 

Cook: 2/3 dinners, 3/3 screen-free meals

 

Climb and lift tonight. Gymnastics tomorrow and helping a friend move. Some kind of running/cardio sometime...

That (cardio) sounds awful, wonderful, but awful. Biscuits, brisket and beer though, that's just plain wonderful!  Looks like you are on track to finish out the week well!
