Wufkar
Okay, so this is more going to be a quasi challenge tbh. The number one goal is to keep going to the gym throughout the roughness I've got ahead. May 6th leave for Ohio and won't be back til May 12. On the 13th I have surgery to remove a 2.25cm fibroid adenoma from my left breast. That means I won't be able to do heavy benches for a while since I can't risk the bar smacking the stitches and popping them. It also means 10 days off from Brazilian JiuJitsu and Judo which I've fast fallen for. I can still do other things at the gym, including rowing, elliptical, leg press, maaaybe try some light squats and see how they go. I could even check out the Muay Thai class at the school depending on if I'm allowed to wear a sports bra or not. Food wise, I'm not really following a plan other than to make sure I eat enough and heavy on the protein. I have a nasty habit of forgetting to eat, then I'm exhausted and everything falls apart. Great times. Bring your gifs and your fun 1 Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment

Wufkar
Last night was another BJJ class followed by a Judo class. We did hip-wheel throws into a Kesa Gatame hold. Which is where you basically put all your weight on the lower person's sternum and either just chill out while they try to figure out how to breathe, or get all mean on their carotid. Before that we did the Reverse Kesa Gatame which means you're facing their feet and are trying to lock up their other arm. All in all, quite fun but I did learn that my thoracic mobility is super whack. getting laid on like that was more painful in my upper back than I expected. I'm also curious to see if I'm going to have neck bruises by the time I get to Ohio or not. Jord
I'm sorry you have to go through that. Please feel free to disregard any of this because I don't know you and I could be making a lot of presumptions. As someone who has had a bunch of surgeries, you want to heal from the surgery once and not have it be prolonged. It probably depends on how big the incision is, but I'm guessing you are going to want to take some days off from any upper body work not just the martial arts, so it heals well and nicely. You want a nice clean heal and a nice clean small incision scar. The more moving around you do the bigger the scar will get. Unless it is a laparoscopic? Then it's probably not such a big deal. How many stitches do they think it will be? Quote Jǫrð, Delvian Nomad - Level 12 { Battle Log } Link to comment

How many stitches do they think it will be? It's honestly not a big deal to me as I've had quite a few surgeries. I'm also not particularly concerned about scar size as it's completely covered and once they switch from red to pale scar color they just look like stretch marks I would imagine less than 6 stitches but we haven't really discussed it. The pseudo plan is to switch back to more SL type things play around with squats etc and go light on chest stuff. Since it's a floating mass it's not attached to any muscle. 1 hour ago, CourtnieMarie said: Here to follow! GL with the surgery. Heal fast! Wufkar
Had another massage today with John. He complained that my left side is always wonky, then said "is this the side you get thrown on all the time?" Yep. Then he begged me to ice it tonight. We talked about my surgery and how that means he can't work on my back. He's decided that means we're going to 'take apart your neck and work on this junk'. Guys. he's way too excited to tear me apart. I'm scurred 2 Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment

Wufkar
So, totally kinda disappeared on you guys. I got back form the Surgery and pretty much haven't done anything as far as fitness is related. The stitches just came out last friday and last night was the first night back at JiuJitsu since I went to Ohio. That being said, I still made progress. Check it oooouuuttt: throwback time, the last time I was this light was July 2014 While I don't love that I went from 138 to 185 again in 2015, it is really eye opening to see the different measurements.
