How respawns work:  I will just reuse the name and attach a number.  So 2, 3, 4, 5.  I made sure there were enough characters for a three-digit number.  So just like in a FPS game like DOOM, players don't stay dead for long. :D

Besides.  Based on the original naming scheme, the male to female ratio among recruits is 3 to 1.  I assume a nationality is rolled on d6.  Then 2 d20's are rolled to determine the first and last names.  If a female name is selected, then a female is rolled.  Each nationality has 5 female names and 15 male names, hence the 3 to 1 ratio.

Meanwhile my thread has a much more even ratio, so we need a lopsided ratio at the exit.  So.  More guys will be putting on red shirts.  Hence:

If he dies, he dies!

Sometimes I think it is not so much a "20-Second Berserker Mode" Button, but merely the Action Button I just have to keep mashing.

Sam Ashen the Action Button!  Today!

Signed up for next event:  Saturday June 18. :)

It is another Olympic meet.  So my cycle is looking like:

May 21:  Beginner Olympic Meet.  (This means to qualify, my total has to be less than about 220 kg, say 95 kg Snatch + 125 kg C+J and I am nowhere close to that.)

June 18:  Olympic Meet in St. Cloud, MN.  (No total required.  Just membership.)

September 24:  CNF Informal PL Meet.  (See you there! :))

After that is up to discussion.  The language of the discussion is pretty funny.  She calls me a convert while I say she is trying to convert me.  It is really a BP versus DL question.

Today I count 18 days following the April 23 meet where I messed up my shoulder again.  15 of these days were BEBOP and 3 were Rest Days.  Shoulder mobility has been improving and will know more today.  My shoulders could well be screaming at me:

ccc23c296de0062ffeb408b6ab1678216db95ea0

Whatever it is, the transition might make me more like Jaymul.  All the squat work will help with the squats.

Going back to language, I asked if high-bar squats transfer to low-bar squats and she keeps saying the other way around. :P

Chiropractor.  Haircut.  Took a very light day today.

Snatch Pulls:  5x5x94 pounds

Clean Pulls:  5x5x134 pounds

Front Squat Doubles at 134, 184 pounds
Front Squat 3x3x224 pounds
Front Squat Doubles at 229, 234, 239 pounds

Overhead Press, Sets of 5 at 44, 64, 84, 94, 104 pounds - That puts shoulder condition in at 78%.  Improved mobility is reflected.

Bent-over Rows at 134, 144, 154, 164, 174 pounds

Tomorrow is snatch balance, snatch waves, clean and jerk waves, paused squats.

Today's score is still being accumulated.  I threw in Uno's Deep-Dish Pizza!

I couldn't get rid of that old quote so I had to post it, sorry!

What I was trying to say is that coincidentally I watched this video yesterday and I think you might find it helpful. He talks about high bar vs low bar and olympic lifting.

My years of PC gaming experience may be helpful.  I think two enter's gets out of the quote box.  Then you can backspace out the quote.

I like his videos and explanations.  They are very detailed and helpful.  Note that he is Strongman first.  I will watch the video when I get home.  (instead of playing XCOM)

As well as I understand it, Front-Squat has the most transfer to the Clean.  Back squat can add more weight.  High-bar can get more depth.  Low-bar can get even more weight.  Basically, more weight ----> more strength.

5:45 - Pretty much explains why my program alternates High-Bar Squats and Front-Squats.

8:14 - Hahahaha

He also gives a very good picture comparing the low-bar squat position and deadlift position.

----------------------------

Who here is interested in an explanation of what these motions are?  When I started on the NF Forums, I found a lot of Oly threads very hard to follow because I had no clue what they were trying to do.  (Usually it is just a part of the lift.)

Muscle Snatch + Snatch Balance Singles:  64, 74, 84, 2x94 pounds

Snatch Singles: 2x94, 104, 114, 124, 94, 114, 124 pounds

Clean and Jerk + Jerk:  134, 2x144, 154 pounds

Paused High-Bar Squats: 154, 3x224 pounds

Subjects of discussion:

I signed up for the hot dog eating contest following the weightlifting contest!  'Dat look.  JK.

Hot dog eating is technical and I have no concept of the technique.

Next event following June 18 is CNF.  So we will come up with a 13-week program.

Only 32.5 kg from a State Record.  Wouldn't it be funny to follow up a 25 kg Bench Press with a State Record attempt?

No Bench Press.  No.  no.  NO.  Not even a stick.  (Hmm.  I would need one heck of a DL to hit 1000 pounds with a 55 pound bench press.)

Shoulder are getting better.  Ya!  Of course!  No Bench Press.  Duh!

Another low-scoring day today.

Score for Today:

2365 Calories

250 Carbs

84 Fat

167 Protein

-5.0 Overall

Ice cream would be good if it was not so late!

Witnessed a ghost pepper ice cream eating contest last year. Technique seemed to involve a lot of head holding and the copious production of mucus.

I just tell myself, "hmm that sounds interesting and those weights are high so it must be difficult. Well done!"

The basic movements I recognize, but the exercises that are parts of movements I have no clue.

Somebody in sales just complained about my penmanship.

Look, bro.  I'm 43 years old.  My penmanship is only going to get worse, not better and in the long haul you are just going to have to suck it up and get used to reading it.  Comes with practice.

Penmanship is individual.

Just challenge him to an Ashen Bi-athalon: Deadlfit 1RM testing followed by an MFP High Score contest. That'll put him in his place.

To be fair:

I thought it was just going to my supervisor who has learned to decipher my chicken scratch.  This person has never seen it before.  However, context should help.  There are only ten digits.  1234567890.  They should be distinguishable once you get used to recognizing them.  Following that would be the unit.  If the number is expressed as a percentage, then that scribble at the end is a % and NOT an X.

Regarding cursive:  I stopped using cursive years and years ago because printing is easier and more legible.

My ability to write cursive loops inside two lines (in order to pass Grade 4 according to some people) is lololololololol.

Dark Raidev looks like Guile.

We may not enjoy living together, but dying together isn't going to solve anything.

So does John Couragev.

Today is Rest Day, but I am only going to play a little bit.  Mission 3 (Crash Recovery 3) turned out to be easy.  There was not much left of the UFO and only one survivor.  Most likely I will run time ahead to the next mission and hopefully organize it better.

That leaves the rest of the day!

Weekday rest days seem to fly by with cooking and housework, groceries and laundry. It's the weekend rest days where I'm like, what do I do with my life, can't I just go lift weights a little bit?
