Adulting is hard, but I think you'll get by with a little help from your friends. :)

From the Neil Gaiman book I just finished:

"Grown-ups don't look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they're big and thoughtless and they always know what they're doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. Truth is, there aren't any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world.”"

Gaiman is an astute fella, I think.

Since Ocean he's put out a short story collection called "Trigger Warning." It's worth checking out; I like his short stories just as much as his full novels. Some of them maybe even more.

I'm currently reading Neverwhere, but I picked up Trigger Warning, too! He's great.

Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett were friends, if you have already read Good Omens why not try the Discworld Series?

Okay guys, going to kind of start.

a) I ordered this: http://smile.amazon.com/Super-Mario-Brothers-2016-Calendar/dp/1419716077?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01

to keep track of my challenge because this.

I also ordered my first pair of over ear headphones, just an entry level pair, but I'm super excited about listening to music through not my iphone headphones (my old on-ear ones broke :()

2) need to still do my programming for next week and the next 2 months.

c) Workout today was a light day. Second day back low barring (in 3 months) so still getting in the groove.

back squat - 190 (70%) for 3 sets of 8, beltless. these felt great and like 70%

then front squats 5 x 5  at 60kg

then bulgarian split squats

and hip thrusts

trying out a new gym tomorrow and pretty excited about that.

d) yes I intentionally did b as 2 because b parentheses keeps changing into sunglasses.

Today's workout!

Bench - 170 for 4 sets of 4. These felt easy but not technically sound. Need to get back into it.

Sumo deadlift - 255 for 6 sets of 2. This is 60% of my conventional, going to try to do sumo light on my second deadlift day as I found last cycle I can't do anything over 80% conventional on my lighter day and still recover.

Then all my bodybuilding stuff!

Apparently he makes an excellent daiquiri.

(I may still be sore that loads of my friends have partied with Neil and Amanda and I never got to go... Although, it's cool to know that I know people who are friends of theirs, I think.)

haha for sure! We went and saw him speak for my birthday last year - very cool experience.

Max Barry's "Lexicon" has become one of my recent favorites though it's not as Fantasy-esque as Gaiman.

I will check both of these out :) Thanks!

Why were you trying to do over 80% conventional on your light day anyway?

I can't recommend lexicon highly enough. It's such a strange little book, ostensibly a tom Clancy-ish thriller, with a layer of sci-fi thrown on, but the insights on human interactions and knowing people (both biblically and the g-rated version) are really thought provoking; even while one character plays blindman's bluff with a katana. It's a gem.

For fiction that strikes of Gaiman's insight and prose, you might checkout Orson Scott Card. He's written more than Enders Game stuff, and "Hart's Hope" or "Enchanted" are particularly approachable for Gaiman fans.

Reward for doing adult things is receiving a sticker.

I love and respect the hell out of that.
