Myrik
Good afternoon Assassins, I have finally decided to join this wonderful guild. I have done 2 other challenges as a rebel, and spent several weeks lurking here and the adventurers guild and chosen you wonderful people as my home for the time being. A little about me I am in the process of a military Permanent change of Station (PCS) from the Frozen North, New England area of the US, to the warmer climate in Texas. Also trying to buy a house, and contemplating try to monetize my video game habit, via Twitch.tv. Goal 1 Get rid of the junk I don't need to take with me. While this will be very hard to quantify I will feel accomplished in this if I go through my 4+ boxes of might need these cables and get rid of my heavy duty winter cloths. Goal 2 Survive my move. Anyone who has moved cross country knows the stresses that come with it. Add to that traveling with 2 young kids, and a dog, and take 2 cars and driving through the New York city area, I usually feel stressed out by the end of the day. If I can keep myself calm and in control I will consider this a win. Goal 3 Continue my Bodyweight workouts and add a few one off to the mix. Try the Darebee daily PvP challenge, Go hiking with the family(if the weather is ever nice on my days off), try and work in some burst movement training on my non workout days, and get out of the chair as often as I can. An assassin can't be running around in baggy cloths and cloths that are to small constrict movement right. RogueLibrarian
You know it. I've started having problems with some of mine being too big after losing a little weight -- problems we want to have! 1 Quote "We can be heroes" Link to comment
Myrik
For sure a problem worth having. For me its 2 fold, some of my bigger shirts look like I'm swimming in them and some of my more fitted shirts are to short because my shoulders and chest have gotten bigger. Not that I'm complaining. Asa Pond
Welcome!! And good luck with the move. I've only ever moved from one apartment to another (well, at least in my adult life) and can't imagine a move of that scale! Yikes. Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. Myrik
This is my 3rd move of this magnitude. First one was from Northern California to Texas, then Texas to Maine, and now Maine back to Texas. At least I don't have to do the packing myself. The Coast Guard pays people to do that for me. Maine! I lived in Brewer for a year and loved all the adventures we took while there. And nice - packing is definitely the worst. 1 Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. PREACH. I had to get rid of 100% of my clothes. I replaced them all.... Then my lower body shrank even more........ And my shoulders hulked................. GETTING CLOTHES THAT FIT IS NO JOKE. blkhole24601
Following! As a brat, I am familiar with PCS but only from the perspective of the kid rather than the parents. When we had to do our overseas move from Japan to California, my mother made me get rid of SO MUCH STUFF, some of which I'm still a little bitter at having had to let go, but I understand the need! Plus having to put our poor cat into quarantine, etc. The PCS from California to Colorado was less stressful all around, but still stressful, especially since I was older (getting ready to enter high school) and more aware of what was going on. Best of luck on the move! Always an exciting time, for better or worse! 1 Quote Vicki | Sheikah Bard | Level 13 STR 32.5 | DEX 51.1 | STA 25.5 | CON 37.1 | WIS 26.0 | CHA 31.3 blkhoe24601 Gains the Power to Revolutionize the World Past Challenges: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 2016 Battle Log Link to comment
Myrik
Update time! So almost one week in and things are moving quickly. The wife and I cleaned out our closets and got rid of more than half our cloths. It felt good, now to drop them off at the local shelter. Started going through my boxes and totes and cleared stuff out. Got rid of at least 2 boxes worth of junk that I won't have to unpack in Texas. My workouts are still going great. Doing the Bodyweight 3 workout from the Academy. I have modified some of the workouts to be harder and some because I don't have access to the equipment needed. Dive Bomber pushups hurt, but I can now knock out 5 correct form dive bomber pushups. Need to find away to get my pull-ups in, did some door pulls but didn't feel like it targeted the area it needed even though bodybuilding.com said it should. Next update next Wednesday unless something amazing happens before then. 1 Quote Myrik's blue print for the Year of the Fire Rooster Challenges: Current Past: I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX X XI XII XIII XIV XV XVI XVII XVIII Tracker Myfitnesspal Garmin Account Stories Art of Manliness reading list Link to comment
RogueLibrarian
I found a space inside my closet to put up a pull-up bar and it's not even noticeable unless you know it's there and look up. Quote "We can be heroes" Link to comment

I wish I had a closet I could do this in. Mine is one of those sliding door closets with no room to stand in it. Once I get into my house I'll be installing on in the garage temporarily until I can duplicate your backyard adult jungle gym. 1 Quote Myrik's blue print for the Year of the Fire Rooster Challenges: Current Past: I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX X XI XII XIII XIV XV XVI XVII XVIII Tracker Myfitnesspal Garmin Account Stories Art of Manliness reading list Link to comment
Asa Pond
Let me know if you figure something out for those pullups. I go visit my mother on weekends to help her get her house ready to sell and she doesn't have anything remotely similar to a pull up bar. It makes getting my pullup work in during the weekends tough. Looks like the move is coming on well! Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. Link to comment

We get people from time to time who join the forums, spend a little time here while developing their own fitness website, advertising it just short of being a spammer, and then pretty much disappear once their own site is running. BaconHunter was one of those. So was El Diablo, who has a bodyweight progression infographic that gets passed around a lot. They aren't really NFers. They never try to become a real part of this community and participate in what NF has to offer. They're fly-by self marketers. The only exception I know of is Waldo. He progressed here on NF in challenges and battle logs, then made his own fitness advice website, but didn't disappear. He's still here regularly participating on NF. But in this day in age you have to do something to get your "brand" out there. He does have some interesting workouts on his page. So today DOMS in both my legs are making work interesting. My hamstrings are so tight that it hurts to get up or sit down in my office chair. Thankfully Tiger balm works great. Myrik
Todays workout completed once again 430 wake up was brutal but I feel much better for doing it. Had to go a little easier on the squats then normal because my inner hamstring area is still quite sore, had the wife roll a foam ball around on it last night and used the foam roller a little bit before bed. The leg lower downs did a number on my abs today, but all in all I feel great.
