So Saturday's workout ended up taking place in door county when we up and responded to friends' tipsy invitation to join them on Friday night. About 3 hours later we're in the thumb of Wisconsin, and about 6 hours after that I'm at the newly refurbished YMCA lifting with the silver sneakers group of retirees. Well, I was lifting anyway. The seniors were comparing iPhone pics of the grandkids while they used the ellipticals, and I had no competition for rack space. I did 1 rep pr for bench, so maybe it was something in the cherry juice. Ranger-ish exploration of the peninsula commenced afterward.

Tuesday was deadlift day and not much was remarkable. Deadlift felt solid at a full 5 reps at 375, and oh press at 155 was sound enough to increase (finally) to 160.

I'm almost back to the 365 max on squat where I was before I reset for a small injury/rehab and form check, and I plan to give madcow a 12 week go after my numbers are back.

Wednesday was a long work day but I grabbed a minute or ten before bed to yoga it up. Korean bbq chicken for dinner and that was a first. The well balanced cucumber kimchi at the restaurant was a pleasant surprise; I like that salty-acidic taste, but it can overwhelm a dish and this variation was fairly neutral.

Thursday was delightfully uneventful at the gym - no stalling and reps all finished; the end of sl is near.

Sounds like a pretty epic adventure. Don't brag too much about the YMCA gym, you might cause them to be overwhelmed with younger people wanting to steal the space :lol:

Final day of the challenge - week 4 was solid if unexciting. Gym'd and tracked 4/4 times (sat, tue, thu, sat. Recognized I'm losing depth on squat by letting my torso hinge forward when I hit bottom. Doesn't make my low back feel amazing either - def something to fix.

Meditation and journalling has been a process but this mindfulness crap is helping. I don't quite have the vocab to talk about gainz in being present in the moment. Maybe this is a poor goal in this context.

Yoga and mobility work has been more quantifiable; neck and a upper back tension has decreased with additional time spent on hanging stretches, child pose (and some derivatives), and chair stretches at work. Low back has loved holding a squat for up to 10 mins at work, and frequent inverted poses. I still feel tightness in my traps and lats by midday after I workout, but much better with putting mobility work in on rest days too.

Comic below for no gd reason, except it's made me chuckle all month.

No, thanks for checking. I'm not zero week monster like some (*ahem@valkyrja) but I'll put one up over the weekend. The hardest part is finding a collection of gif's that are funny, yet not fully wtfnsfw. When did society become so puritanical than a talking prolapsed rectum is considered distasteful?? #thoughtpolice

I tend to not care too much about nsfw, as long as it isn't a porn fest, it's usually fine. But then again, I don't work in an office, so that isn't an issue.
