New Challenge!

 

So I skipped the last challenge due to busyness and laziness. Since the IRONMAN New Orleans 70.3 I have been eating like Kirby from Nintendo and just inhaling everything. I need to get back on track starting this week, especially since Eagleman 70.3 is Sunday. I did PR my 5k last Monday with a 7:21 mile pace which as very nice since I had not PR'd for 6 years, and I beat it by about 1:30. The training is paying off!

 

I have finally managed some good time management with training and life and I would like to invest some time into my hobbies. So I will be posting lots of image updates of me working on my new reef aquarium, cars, magic cards, building a deck, and gardening. Hopefully I can continue and really get some time in on these instead of watching TV in the evenings.

I had a doctors appointment in the morning, got to work by 9:30 and worked until 6:30. Because of this I was low on time. I did work non stop on things until 9:30 or so and had a short down time before bed. I'll take this as a victory, only loss was I was literally too lazy to stretch.

 

35 minute bike and a 15 minute run went really well, I am so ready for the race Sunday.

6/7 Keep it Going

  • Water front yard
  • Log Fish
  • 4 X 30 second plank
  • 3 building laps
  • 3 X 15 pushups
  • Pills(creatine, vitamin)
  • Stretching
  • 30 minute shakedown run
  • Cat food and water morning
  • Cat Food and water evening
  • Trash out
  • Dishes
  • Brush Bear
  • Shave Face

 

Chores/Hobbies:

  • Fix the Garden Gate
  • Drop bikes off for final service and race wheels rental for mine
  • Cut Egg Crate for bottom of aquarium
  • Finish mowing the small section of yard
  • Set up doctors referral appointment(nothing serious)
  • Order TP and razors
  • Weed garden????

 

And after all that I have hockey tonight at 10:40. I didn't drink the past two nights and hope to keep it up all the way until race day Sunday. Usually hockey is the hardest though. I need to get undressed and home to bed quickly so I can get 5.5 hours of sleep or so.

 

I do leave work at 4 today and will not have to leave for hockey until 9:40ish so I think there is no reason not to knock everything listed out. The garden weeding is the only thing I am iffy on.

Well....   I worked my butt off after work and nailed so many things. I will weed the garden tonight and post pics of the garden in glory with its fencing finished(it is not so much a fence as it is chicken wire to prevent rabbits and deer). I really did just run out of time before hockey. Bear certainly needed a brushing, she is a cat and shedding.

Hockey went meh, as goalie I played average and we ended up winning 6-5 in the last minute. But I made a save very similar to this one which made my night.

I did drink my usual after hockey but I hustled and got home quicker and got to bed earlier than usual, instead of 5.5 hours of sleep I slept 5 hours. Minor win since it was good to force myself to get up and at them this morning. Now I can leave work at 4ish and not be working until 6 or 7 and cutting into my time today. I also over ate slightly, of course some alcohol calories but I ate about 4 ounces of brie and had about one ounce of mixed nuts when I got home, about 600 more calories, not terrible since I was going to be under by 200 for the day.

Simple day huh. Need to work my best at this since we have vidja games tonight after 8. The egg crate I can do while playing as well as my pick up since I am a measly Ranger in game and can just assign to auto shoot all monsters. Hoping to have some garden pictures to share.

Got home and got a ton of stuff done, however I was lazy and skipped some push ups and planks, these can easily be done at home. A "c" is average though so hey it was an average day.

 

I did manage to add cages to my garden for all the growing plants, today I think I can weed and replant egg plants among a ton of other things. Sadly my strawberry tower fell over so it is now broken apart in lower sections. I really do need to get some progress on my 12 gallon saltwater reef tank I am working on starting.

The tower is ok, no broken plants. I am going to possibly find a way to mount it with stakes so it can not blow over.

 

1 watermelon, 2 egg plants, 1 cherry tomato, 4 peppers, 4 cucumbers, carrots, snap peas, beans, beets, 1 marigold(potted), lettuce and the strawberries.

 

Last night I added some stuff in pots; 1 pumpkin, 2 butternut squashes from seeds, 1 petunia, 1 marigold. I also ditched my two egg plants due to beetles and bought two new ones that are bigger.

Did a ton of stuff on my list but I ended up with a garden beer then NHL playoffs beers, followed by an entire box of Velveeta shells and cheese. It hurt so good, my wife asked "Now have you learned your lesson" I had to tell her "I regret nothing".

 

The garden was in deed weeded but it was dark so here are some night time garden pics:

Forgot to post this until today. Too busy worrying last night about the stupid prediabetes and the race.

 

My strategy to for the blood sugar is to stop drinking heavy, which I was already cutting back on somewhat. And no more binge meals. Sadly during the day I had some chips and peanut butter crackers and some pop tarts. Last time for that crap. I did have the correct calories though and I did not drink.

6/11 Pre Race Day!1!1!!1!!!!!

Drove to the race site and got everything checked in. Going to bed shortly, you can follow my race progress on the IRONMAN website under eagleman. Bib number 1122, I should be racing from about 7:15 - 1:15 hopefully.

You absolutely can! Was this fasting or non-fasting? That can completely skew results.
