Thanks. I'm am heavily debating doing another whole30. I'm 90% sure my migraines come from sugars and caffeine but the first 2 weeks of a whole30 is basically 1 massive migraine 24/7.But after that, bliss. Lol

 

I lack the willpower to tell myself no, you don't need that DA DLC or go grocery shopping so you have food and don't have to get take out. Mint says I spend way to much money on food.

Yeah, we spend way too much money on food as well. I feel absolutely horrible when reading the advice blogs about budgeting and groceries, because most of them are full of people commenting at the bottom about how they survive on only 300 or 400 a month with a family. There is no way you are eating "healthy" and only spending that much in this day and age. Unless you are growing a ridiculous amount of garden produce, and then you should factor in seed costs, and and and... see? I get totally worked up over it.

My family survived on $300 a month or less when I was growing up. It was one can of peas and hamburger helper for a meal between five people, three of them children. Repeat. And lots of tortilla foods, like mentioned above. I remember eating honey and peanut butter quesadillas a lot.

Kind of went all out today. I was going to go to the gym but I really had no desire to leave the house once I got home. I did some of 1A because I wanted to get those up to 10 reps, well except the elevated push up. I did end up increasing that one though. Did 2B as well and saw how far I could get with General DOMS...not very far. Ok I just need to increase the squats and plank.

 

Week 1 Day 5

Oh and before I forget. I did 1 Table Row or whatever you call it. OK I almost didn't get 1 but I also almost flipped the table trying it so 1 was enough.

Gotta be careful with those table rows! My kitchen table works well if I do it on the short end, but I tried on the long side once and almost flipped it.

I'm spending too much money on food, too. And I'll be broke-ish until the next month :D

 

I can't seem to do any table rows as well. Is there a park where you can work out? You can even use the swings for invertee rows! Or you can use your door and a sheet (there was a video on Youtube if I'm not mistaken)!

Ah, table rows or pull ups with table for me were a bit easier before because we were in the trailer and the dining table was bolted to the floor! Haha. Not so easy now since we are in a house with a regular pedestal table not bolted down.

One thing I found recently was to take a sturdy bed sheet, knit it on one end well, and close the door on it. Specifically in the top of the door. Then you can lean back with it and do inverted rows that are effective [emoji2]. I'm going to give em a shot later myself since right now I'm using a bo staff wedged between a counter and the sink counter opposite it. Probably not the safest lol so gonna try the door with sturdy sheet

I just saw that video! I have a pull up bar and resistance bands that I could probably rig up to work but I thought the table would be the easiest way. Those were REALLLLLY hard.

Yeah a bolted down table would be a lot safer. I just imagined all those do not tip signs near vending machines...

I'm going to try using my resistance bands tonight but if those don't work I have a sheet I can use. [emoji4] 

Just reminded me I have resistance bands I could possibly use as well! Here's to each of us trying and finding that sweet spot solution!

Love this idea just need a solid wood broom! I used the TRX things today at the gym and uugh my upper body strength is so weak.

Week 1 Day 6

So I decided to do a small workout tonight to see if I could get past General DOMS and I did it! I just needed to hit 20 bodyweight squats to beat it, so that was awesome and my thighs are killing me. Haha. I attempted to do some inverted rows for the mini and took my resistance bands to my pull up bar. I could get 6 total. Need to work on those a lot.

I literally have to iron it, straight on the yarn, which is not the best but the curl is almost done.

Week 1 Review

 

We cleared the 1st floor and made it safe for any survivors we find. We did find 7 on this floor and it will be safe for them to wait until we find more. It was a struggle to get through this floor but we need to keep going up!

 

Top of the Tower : 2/2 Cardio days & 3/3 Bodyweight Workouts : To the next floor!

Crappy cardio this week but I got it in. I started the NF Academy workouts this week and those seem to be going well. I defeated General DOMS. Had major doms after that, front of my thighs were screaming at me for days after!

Save the Mages : Meal Plan on Sunday & 7/7 Tracked food days  : 1st floor cleared of Shades and blood mages!

I planned my meals and did a pretty good job sticking to it. I tracked all my food this week and I'm really trying to do a better job of just tracking and not judging what I ate. I will do that when I switch to tracking calories. Lol. 

Kick the Abominations out : Limit Sugary foods: 1st floor Boss Abomination destroyed!

I did a good job keeping sugary foods to under 6 items a day. I'm changing my soda goal though because only 1 a day was a little too much to start with. (wk 1 - 3, wk 2 - 3, wk 3 - 2, wk 4 - 2)

Look for survivors : 7 survivors found!

No CC purchases for a week! I'm pretty sure that is a record. :)

Kudos for everything :)

You're level 2 on the Academy workouts now, right? So am I! Although I'm feeling ready to take the next boss battle, but keep stalling on level 2 because 3 requires a pull-up bar or rings :D We're on the same boat about the pull-ups. I can only do 6 inverted rows in one set. Maybe we should become pull-up buddies?

Week 2 Day 1

This was the weekend to eat like an asshole apparently. I was fairly productive so that was a plus. I did have a great moment at the gym though. For me, music blaring in my ears is a must when I run/walk/crawl etc. I’ve driven all the way to the gym, got onto a treadmill and realized I left my headphones at home and just went home. No walking no nothing. I just can’t deal with letting my brain ruin my workouts.

So Sunday while I was running to my zombie run mission, my headphones STOPPED WORKING! I was at 3/4th of a mile and instead of stopping, stretching and going home disappointed, I finished my mile! I was still disappointed because my plan was 3 but I finished out my mile and I’m really proud of myself for continuing on that much.

Hello pull-up buddy. :) 

 

Yep! I'm starting 2A tonight and pull-ups are so hard! While I have no upper body strength the worst thing is my hands. I have pretty soft hands and it makes them hurt. I'm at 3 as my AMRAP for inverted rows haha.

I've never tried an actual pull-up, because I'm sure it'll be an epic fail at this moment :D As for your inverted rows, did you have a chance to try using something more sturdy than a table? Maybe that'll increase your AMRAP? Level 2 has dumbbell rows (they're called "grocery bag rows," but whatever) and they're great to increase strength! My inverted row AMRAP would've been much lower if I hadn't been doing them for months. Right now I'm transitioning into 10 kg dumbbells from 7 kg. I had started with 4! I love my adjustable dumbbell set, but if you don't have one, just fill a grocery bag with certain items and add more over time. We'll get there one day :)

Oh yeah...well I strung up my resistance bands to my pull up bar and tried some inverted rows that way. THAT was slightly scary since it was resistance bands. I got the 3 AMRAP while at the gym using the TRX straps.

Week 2 Day 2

Did my first NF Yoga session today and I hate downward dog and lunges. Can’t wait until I get better at them but right now they suck. Did my workout and worked on my bullet journal & planner then ended the night reading the 2nd book in the Alpha & Omega book.

 

Top of the Tower : 1/2 cardio & 1/3 Bodyweight Workout

BODYWEIGHT WORKOUT 2A:

10 Calf Raises - Hold for 3-5 seconds

10 Leg Swings

10s Wide Squat

4x5s Upward Facing Dog

5 Calf-Cow Pose

Bodyweight Squat - 3x10

Elevated Pushup - 3x6

Resistance Band Rows - 3x10

Grocery Bag Walk - 3 trips of 30 seconds

 

NF Yoga - Water Series - A

 

Save the Mages :

Meal planned on Sunday & 2/3 Soda

Kick the Abominations out :

3 sugary food
