It is time for me to slow down and center myself so I have come to the druids for guidance and support this challenge. I need to keep things simple and focus on improving my mood and my thoughts.

Main Goals:

1. Mindfulness/Meditation/Thought - spend time reflecting and meditating daily (must be time set aside for this, no multitasking) Currently, I am working on releasing the unhelpful things - negative self-image, anxiety, and a feeling of being overwhelmed, and focusing on the helpful - calming my mind, recognizing my awesomeness.

2. Declutter - I am ready to have fewer things. I will get rid of at least one thing every day.

3. Yoga - doing yoga before bed helps me sleep and is good for me, but I struggle with getting myself to do it. I will do yoga each night before bed.

4. Recognize my awesomeness - Write down what I accomplish each day and write one positive statement about myself each week - something good about me aside from accomplishments.

Bonus Quests: (may or may not do these depending on how main goals are going)

Continue with c25k MWF (subbing in swimming when it’s hot)

Pull-ups Challenge app MWF

Participate in the Assassins' mini (depending on how it fits with my current goals)

Zero Week min-challenge: Clean house in preparation for in-laws' visit Friday.

Following! I just want to throw out one thought on your challenge. Overall, it looks very peaceful and well-centered, the only thing I worry about for you is having more than one item that you are going to do every day on the list. If you miss even one day, it could lead to discouragement especially since you're struggling with negativity. What if you set up a minimum of 6 days a week (or even 5) with the intention of going for 7 days a week? That way if you miss a day you won't feel overwhelmed or beat yourself up.

Namaste. :peaceful:

I thought of you while I was out doing my walking meditation today. It's a fun way to get outdoors, meditate, and move. The Saturday podcasts on this site: https://www.sipandom.com/the-daily-meditation-podcast/ are the ones that have a walking meditation. She posts them on Itunes so you can listen via your phone podcast app.

@Jayniana Jones Thanks for the podcast link, I'll definitely look it up!

And thank you for trying to keep me in check so I don't overdo! lol I will spend some time thinking about this during zero week and update my challenge before it starts. :)

You're welcome. I have a history of deciding I'm going to change everything all at once and then about three weeks in fall apart because I can't keep up. I figured I'd pass along the lesson I learned while I still remember it. No guarantee I won't have to learn it again. Haha.

    kitchen sink scrubbed

    table cleared and cleaned

laundry washed, hung to dry, folded, and put away

trash bin brought in from road

Zero Week (Housecleaning)

tumblr_inline_mpd73q26Oj1qz4rgp.gif

Didn’t do great today, but made enough progress that I feel inspired to do more so that’s some success.

    bed made

    quilt hand washed

    dishes handwashed

    table kept clear and clean

    bathroom floor swept

worked a lot on tidying my art/sewing area

Also went to yoga class this evening. I love my yoga class. The people are wonderful and the teacher gives foot massages to everyone during shavasana.

I forgot! One other thing I cleaned today - I emptied my email inbox! It's NEVER been empty before. I'm going to try to keep it empty. :)

Housecleaning is going well, although cleaning isn’t really what I’m doing aside from laundry and dishes. I’m getting rid of, clearing out, and simplifying.

It’s slow going, but I’m making good progress. My art/sewing area is almost done and the loft is also getting close. Tomorrow I am taking a big load of stuff in to town to donate.

Good luck with your inbox. I used to clasify my e-mails as soon as they came and it worked for me.

That's a good idea.At the moment I'm trying the inbox zero system (because it focuses on lean and fast work)

maybe it's interesting for you too :)

I spent time thinking over my challenge and looking at each goal and I think I'm going to leave it how it is.

I think the only goal that I will be dragging my feet on is the daily yoga one and I really want this to become a thing I do every night before bed.

So, I will strive for 100%, but will happily level up with 80% if I need too back off on something and will not be too hard on myself if I miss a day. I am supposed to be working on self-compassion so a missed day will give me that opportunity! lol

Hi snowowl, have you tried making rituals for the habits you want to cultivate? Just spending less energy on decisions and willpower will make your effort... well less lol

Nice! be sure to post haha. Also I think you should level up no matter what! there is a danger of not meeting goals and then not even trying anymore, any effort is a cause for reward enough

SnowOwl arrived in the Hidden Forest late in the evening and found a warm welcome around the central fire. She was shown to her quarters, given the morning rituals that she will be expected to follow, and left to settle in on her own.

Morning Rituals:

Set your mind (take a quiet moment before you rise to get your mind to a calm state)

Rise

Cleanse yourself

Go outdoors to greet the day (walk)

Break Fast

Care for others (people, animals, garden)

Purify your space (cleaning)

Silent Meditation
