Continuing with my respawn ... I'm back with my second challenge of 2016. It's something of a two-edged sword; continuing my progress from the last challenge and also catching up on stuff I missed. My points will all be recorded in my NF character profile So without further ado, my challenge goes like this:

1. Treadlift v 2.0

Treadlift "build" workouts are a 12 week compilation, which perfectly splits into 3 lots of 4 weeks. The workouts are the same in terms of arrangement (with 4 workouts per week) but progressing to level 2 and leaving level 1 behind with the last challenge. Still 30-mins per workout but switching it up and keeping it fresh!

2. Foam rolling!

I foam roll my muscles for at least 10 minutes every day.

3. Steppage!

Not sure that's a word, but it's what I call it anyway. I strap on a pedometer and I record how many steps I go each day. I can't improve on something I don't measure so the first step to improvement is measurement.

20 points on offer for this quest (5 for each week I complete a log of steps)

4. 365 catch up!

I photograph Edna every day, but for a while now I have missed days. Over the course of this challenge, I will see how many days I am behind and I will catch up to where I am supposed to be.

20 points awarded if I complete this, pro rata points if I partially complete

Week 01 Day 01 - Sunday 12 June 2016

 

Steps: 1739

  • Wore my pedometer but didn't go far; that's pretty normal for me on one day of a weekend.
  • Missed my foam rolling session.
  • Sat down at my Flickr account and made a little spreadsheet of the photos. I have posted 171 photos and should be at day 226, so I have adapted my NF character quests to 5 points for every 15 photos I catch up on.

Week 01 Day 02 - Monday 13 June 2016

 

Steps: 9696

  • Treadlift done, no problems.
  • Walked for an hour with Harry this evening; even though it was raining it was a good walk.
  • Did 10 minutes with my Tiger Tail; 10 minutes seems like a long time when you are foam rolling.

Ahoy there, crewmate!

A Treadlift workout lasts 30 minutes; 10 mins on the treadmill then 20 mins of weights (mainly dumbbells). It's split into 4 workouts per week with different body areas. Tuesday is leg day. I did hill sprint intervals for my treadmill bit and my weights were dumbbell step ups, dumbbell walking lunges, goblet squats and jumping jacks.

Hello, fellow Rumrunner shipmate. I don't foam roll as often as I should. I have one in the house, it just gets neglected. I do use The Stick from time to time. I always feel better afterward, but it can be quite miserable at times, which I know just means I should be doing it more.

  • Treadlift done. Legs are angered at hill sprints.
  • Did my usual 45 minutes with Harry because, well, late.
  • Got 10 minutes of foam rolling in, thighs say "thank you."

Week 01 Day 04 - Wednesday 15 June 2016

  • A day off from Treadlift so nothing there to report.
  • Walked before work but only a short distance. Evening I was very late so no opportunity for a walk with Harry tonight.
  • Managed to get 10 mins foam rolling in before bed.

I use a Tiger Tail and I follow the exercises on the Tiger Tail bit of this page

Legs, upper back and neck are easy to reach but I find arms a bit more difficult ... maybe because I bought the long Tiger Tail. I also use lacrosse balls if I have a particularly tight spot.

Oh heavens, how I hate the foam rollers! Trigger points in my IT band make me want to pass out. Bleh. Glad someone finds the foam rolling useful, shipmate!

Week 01 Day 05 - Thursday 16 June 2016

 

Steps: 9850

  • Treadlift done, it was mostly core work and I really enjoyed it.
  • Got my 10 minutes of foam rolling in, actually it was more like 11 or 12 minutes because when my timer finished I carried on for a little bit. Noticed that each of my legs has different trigger points. Not sure why I assumed they would be symmetrical, but they are most definitely not.
  • Walked for 1 hour with Harry the Ranger dog, that's more than usual so I added half a mile to the ranger mini tally for the airship Rumrunner :afro:
