Emerald_Dragonfly Posted June 20, 2016 Report Share Posted June 20, 2016 My opinion, fwiw, is to give the program a full 8 or 12 weeks as-is before messing with it. I remember feeling a bit down the first time that I had to deload, but was ultimately glad that I did. I myself give it the 3 times before deloading; sometimes I get it the 3rd session, sometimes I don't. I guess that it depends on your goals - SL is meant to get you through your linear gains as quickly as possible, I think. How much energy are you spending on accessories? OHP and Bench are slower to progress for me, too. Does your gym have mini-plates? I picked up a set (although I have yet to use them, their time is coming, I can feel it) to use to progress more slowly than 5 lbs per session.
