Captncid - getting back in the saddle

Hi all!

It's been a while since I jumped into a challenge. I was asked if I'd like to join this one a little late, so I figured now is the time to get back to it!!

Just to get back into it, I just have 2 goals for the remainder of this challenge.

1. More water

I've fallen back into drinking energy drinks and it is starting to get to me. My goal for this is to drink 2 liters of water per day. It is almost twice what I drink now, so I figure I will have to cut down on the energy drinks to make this goal.

2. Make all meals from home 5 of 7 days a week.

I work 12 hours overnight and haven't been planning or preping meals for a long while now. This goal is to help me get back into the habit.

On a side note, I also am starting a greenhouse this year and have been updating here if you'd like to see.

Hey all!

Been a busy week. As far as the challenge goes, I'd say this last week was simply ok.

My water intake started awesome. The last two days, not so much. Day before yesterday I simply did not drink enough and yesterday I forgot my water bottle at home. I'm still at least drinking more than I have been in the past, so mini win for me!

Water: 5 out of 7 days

Food was not quite as good. A couple 13 hour days really took its toll on me. I did manage to get just better than half of the days done, though.

Food: 4 of 7 days

Definite room for improvement and I am proud of the progress I am making so far. I may have to revisit these goals in another challenge, however I like what I am seeing so far!

Wow. Very impressed by the aquaponics greenhouse (and more than a little jealous)! :) Growing things is fantastic and a nice stress relief (even when they don't do so well as they should). Last week of the challenge - how's it doing?

Challenge wrap up:

Overall, I feel I did good with the challenge. I hit about 75% of my goal, not bad considering some of the bad habits I've picked up over the last year. I'm planning on skipping the next challenge and getting my goals into the academy so I can track them better.

Just as a bonus, here is a picture of the first cucumber to come out of the greenhouse. It's about 18" long!

Congrats on the progress, and on the produce! My cucumbers have only just started flowering, but I was late getting them in the ground. Here's to a surplus of fresh veggies, and we'll see you on the second next challenge!

Is it just me, or is this rebooting hard stuff? You did a brilliant job of it, though!!
