But still doing 5x5. Squats and rows every day... for rows I already have 90% weight on B day configured. Increase every other A day. I'm toying with doing the same with squats. I may also just... *not* squat every day. Imagine that. Still deciding. Also what do you mean, behemoth sized men don't have to start with the bar?? Traxex
7/19 holy cow how is it already the 19th??!!! Activity today: Did W8D2 of Zombies 5k. That means... I just gotta run 5k and then I'm graduated. It looked like this: 15 minute warmup walk 10 minute run 3 minute stretch break 10 minute run 5 minute walk 10 minute run 5 minute walk 5 minute run 10 minute cooldown walk I very nearly didn't run today. After yesterday's squats and lunges, my hamstrings, glutes and adductors are tight and feel like lead. I did not feel better after running. I felt way worse. so after dinner I did 30 minutes of yoga. Who am I??? FOOD: two eggs on a tortilla. No cheese because I was saving it for dinner. big ol' salad -- you know what I eat by now banana TWO lemon dijon grilled porkchops with greek pasta salad. I forgot the cheese I was saving. Good golly. watermelon margarita Now... that doesn't *look* like I'm sticking to my diet. But I totally am. That's all right within my container counts. Yesssssss. I have watermelon in my fridge that would like to become an alcoholic beverage... http://thefoodieandthefix.com/21-day-fix-watermelon-margarita/ ^^^ that's the recipe I used, just to properly cite my sources. However its easy enough to type. 1 cup watermelon cubes, the juice of half a lime, and a shot of tequila in a blender. Next time I make it, I'll experiment with freezing the watermelon or adding ice cubes to get a different texture. It was kinda water. But very delicious. 2 minutes ago, x Valkyrie x said: Damn girl, look at you lift! Thanks! <3 1 Quote Level 2 Drow Ranger I walk alone, but the shadows are company enough. Link to comment

Squats: the weight is resting on your back/shoulders, you start from a fully standing position, bend the knees so the hips are now below the knees, then stand back up. Deadlifts: the weight is resting on the floor, you start from a somewhat squatting position, then stand up and extend through the hips to a fully locked standing position. There are videos of both in this thread, although I'll disclaim that my technique is not perfect since I have some upper back medical issues. They do work a lot of the same muscles, but in different ways -- for instance deadlifts involve the back muscles a lot more, and also the shoulders to an extent because the way you're holding the bar. Squats use the quads a lot more than deadlifts do. It's also typical to be able to deadlift a lot more than you can squat so that's a different kind of load between the two exercises. 13 hours ago, x Valkyrie x said: Also omg your recipes look amazeballs! *steals recipes for self* LOL I don't write 'em.
