Score: 16'18"

Comments: Terrible grip killed me on the T2B and pullups. MU transitions came out real easy, probably a sign I should try for a proper Muscle Up soon.

12-minute cap

 

Score: Did not finish round 1 for one rep. Scored just 2 rounds during the second part. Finished the last part in 9'19". Grip killed my T2B and the Rope Climbs during the last round were terrible

Thought I'd to worse after a week off the box. Originally aimed for at least 5 rounds, then it went to completing the 6th and then to doing at least one rep in the 7th. L-Sits are tougher than L-Hangs and I needed my judge to slightly support my legs, so technically I didn't Rx this. Love how CF Pireaus promotes judged workouts at random, not just when it's the Open or a benchmark WOD.

3 rep sets of Front Skwaatz

We were supposed to load until it felt hard, then do 5 sets of 3s. I got to 184lbs but ran out of time after the third set. Had a friend from my old box (CF Chalandri) tag along, he was looking for a new place and I talked him into joining. We both appreciated each other's company and to his surprise, after 3 months away from workouts, he pushed his front squat PR from 50kg to 60 and then 70kg with ease. Pretty sure he's willing to stick around for a while.

 

Fun fact: He tried and failed at 184lb/84kg. I cleaned the bar with ease so I could re-rack it, then realized my clean PR was around 65 or 70kg last time I checked so there's a bonus unofficial accidental clean PR B)

There's this thing called "The Greek Throwdown". Finals are taking place in Athens this weekend, there's international participation with distinguished athletes and CF Piraeus has 6 athletes that made it to the finals. In their honor and to celebrate the event, they just declared this as the "Greek Throwdown Week". Today for example, we'll be doing two WODs from past finals, back to back with only 2' rest between them.

 

That probably qualifies as "better prep"

Modified versions of the 2 first workouts announced for this year's Greek Throwdown

 

3' AMRAP Wall Balls (I used an 18lb ball as all 20lb were taken)

2' Rest

Then for time (with an 8' Time Cap)

10 Deadlifts, 9 Cleans, 8 Shoulder to overhead (used only 94lb as my shoulders still hurt from Saturday's presses)

27 Toes to bar

8 Deadlifts, 7 Cleans, 6 Shoulder to overhead

21 Toes to bar

6 Deadlifts, 5 Cleans, 4 Shoulder to overhead

15 Toes to bar

 

Score: DNF (Did not finish) still had 6 T2B left and zero grip strength. I am not jealous of athletes competing, their version is not only heavier, but calls for 50 Wall Balls and then max reps of Double Unders, the bars weigh 134lb and instead of T2B, they gotta do the same numbers scheme like with the bar, but as T2B-Chest to bar-Bar Muscle Ups instead. Ouch!

That kind of volume is why i don't do class WODs, that would wreck me for days.

We're sticking to the competition standards, competitions always have time caps. It's funny because it's the first one I've ever experienced in CF Piraeus, at the previous box (CF Chalandri) they had them all the time but mainly as means to empty the floor for the next class.

Saturday's WOD gave me the DOMS in my back, shoulder and triceps. Too many SH2OH and I was working almost at my 1RM weight. That's the reason why I dropped to just 94lbs on Monday. Can we, like, not do any more shoulder presses for a little while please?
