SkiBlue
This will be the first time (I recall) not taking a break during Week Zero. I'm rolling with the same basic habits that I was working on last challenge (and practically forgot to keep tracking). I've added a few more ways to gain bonus points, but they're not really required. Just some things I would like to work on once the basics get easier. Eat Well: Continue brown bagging lunches on work days. Bonus points for eating at home on the weekends and in the mornings. Sleep Well: Be in bed by 10:30pm. Bonus points for staying up after alarm in the mornings. Move Daily: Continue to attend regular Mon & Wed classes consistently. Bonus points for any extra training. Love Daily: Track all food and drinks (including water). Bonus points for any time spent on the KonMari list. EDIT: Goals edited for a bit more simplicity and focus. Also, it's kinda dumb, in my opinion, to focus on getting up at a specific time when you don't go to bed at a specific time first, to make sure you get enough sleep. 6 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

Glad to have you guys here! Yesterday well very well! Got up with my alarm - check! Breakfast - check! Lunch - check! Capoeira class - check! Tracked foods - check! Still can't settle on a solid theme (I'm honestly not sure how to do a "shenanigans" theme, which is what I really want), so here's some classic Colonel Flagg. 5 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

Thanks! Yesterday went well. Had breakfast and brought lunch to work (watching Star Trek episodes during lunch really help me STOP DOING THINGS AT WORK so I can actually eat instead of not). I tried out Day 1 Week 1 of GMB'S Elements program (I'm unofficially planning on going through Elements-Vitamin-Flexibility-Strength programs; t'was a splurge when I got a stipend at work in June), so that counts as the extra training session for the week. Logged everything (when MFP decided to let me search their database properly) and spent some time trying to disassemble two Nerf Cad Bane blasters I have. After talking with Mando Friend Jessi, I've decided that I'm just going to mod those into prop blasters for now, so I can get approved by the end of the year. I've gotten the hammer part off, but the barrel cap is glued on TIGHT, so pulling it apart to get the spring-air launcher part out isn't going very well. But, I have two of them, so if I break one and somehow can't fix it with bondo, I'm not worried. I'm pretty sure they only gut the blasters with lights and sounds electronics inside, but I thought I would try it. They need a lot of work to become approve-able anyway. I still have no idea how to do a shenanigans theme, so here's some more funnies: Shenanigans might just turn into funnies at this point. I promise, Star Wars will be in the mix. 5 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

Last night ended up with a lot of "try drilling a hole here where this seam is." That barrel cap was either glued really damn well, or the inner part of the barrel IS part of the cap. I ended up taking the hammer sides off just by pulling it hard enough. I expected them to break, but they didn't. I'm still on the fence about whether or not I should continue trying to get the guts out, but we'll see how it goes the next chance I get. We're doing job interviews today and tomorrow, so I'll be attending dinner with the "team" this evening, and if there's enough time left, I'm going straight to class afterwards. And then tomorrow is HORDES night. And Friday is SAMBA. Life just got crazy! 3 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment
SkiBlue
Yesterday was a bit hectic. Was out of bed on time, but that was for a dentist appointment at 7am. I haven't been to the dentist in at least four years. While it ended in sore gums, I'm still really glad I went. Due to the fluoride treatment, I couldn't really eat anything substantial for breakfast, so I was pretty food-crazed went I went for lunch about two hours later than I probably should've (to avoid the lunch-hour craziness). I went straight from the dentist to work, and forgot my lunch in the process. My stomach did not agree with lunch, so dinner was a struggle. I was part of the interview team for our department (we're hiring for a staff position), and we had dinner with the candidate, so I went straight from work to capoeira class, despite my gurgling stomach. Again, I'm super glad that I didn't talk myself out of that. I've been aware of my weak points for the art to begin with, but last night's class really helped me figure out their priority. So, for the time being, the two biggest things I need to work on are my endurance/stamina, and my flexibility. I'm going to shift over to Focus Flexibility from Elements to get started on that. Unfortunately, I don't have any funnies for today. Nothing's really tickling me at the moment. 6 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

On the drive from work to school, I had the same kind of thoughts run through my head, but I'd been so determined to make consistent classes that I drove straight there with every intention of going and dying sweating. Week Zero went well enough, though it teetered off near the end. Aiming for a longer stretch this week. I've recently become infatuated with watching the entirety of DS9. I grew up on TNG and was old enough to stay up late to watch Voyager while it was on the air. I've watched a good deal of TNG episodes over and over again, but while I do plan on watching all of them, I've decided to work through DS9. Why? Because GARAK. I have a soft spot for the spy motif. 4 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

I think that's why I've managed to get as far as I have. Plus, they always feel like pulling yourself through sludge during the first two seasons, then they get much better. That's when you realize it was molasses, not sludge. >.< On 7/18/2016 at 0:21 PM, Terra said: I totally grew up on TNG, Voyager and DS9.... sigh, that makes me old! I used to watch TNG and TOS reruns with my dad all the time. Remember, you're only as young as you feel. Spoiler So, I'm muddling through this week so far. This tiny thing is the reason why: I've been painting her since Monday (was supposed to be Sunday, but I had an accident with her initial primer coat). She's the first model I've painted for my Hordes/Circle Orboros army, and she's not done. The stitches on her cape need to be highlighted, I still want to give her a good wash, to show some details that are missing, and she needs her grassy/autumn leaves base. But all in all, I'm super happy with how she's turned out, considering the amount of tiny details on her, and my extreme desire to stay within the lines. Working on her counts as creativity, so there's that. But she's been making me stay up late, so getting up with my alarm has been a challenge. I also missed class on Monday, due to not realizing what time it was (and changing the oil in my car). So, I've set up class time alarms to avoid that issue again. I've been bringing lunch to work, at least. There's definitely room for improvement, and now that she's almost done, I can refocus myself. 5 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment
