It would appear that you are out of tissues.  Also, those pants are clearly too exciting for earthly engineering.  That's why you work on space stuff, and I work with mouth breathers.  I need to work on my pants game.

I read The Martian last November while traveling for work. It's a quick fun read. Do it.

This is the only reason I'm thinking about getting a kindle fire, because it'll be easier to check out library books.... especially for my books & beer club.

Pants game is where it's at. I actually got rid of a lot of my pants before the move here. I used to have so many more pairs of cool pants!!!

I always had a really hard time with borrowing kindle books from the library because the waiting list is so long. I could never get the book I wanted immediately. And by time I did get it, I was already balls deep in another book. Plus you can't renew them so you have to be "quick" to read through them.

I like physical books.  I do not read a ton of books anymore, but I also just like having some books in my house.  Maybe I should round up some of my books and put them on a shelf, a book shelf if you will.  I could get into the ereader if I found one at a size I liked.  I have an ipad mini which is similarly sized to a kind.  They are too thin.  I'd need to buy a case that bulks it out to maybe an inch thick - book thickness.  I don't think I'd get the same sense of ownership from an ebook as a physical book.  What happens if you lose your ereader?  I assume book services are like steam where your account remembers what you own, but the luddite in me is starting to reach for a pitchfork just thinking about it.  What does Ray Bradbury think about this?

The phrase "balls deep" in reference to a book just caught me off guard this morning....

Download the book onto your kindle while you have it out from the library, then turn off wifi until you finish

I believe "what happens if you lose your ereader" is dependent on the type of ereader? For amazon I can get my ebooks sent either to my phone or my kindle so it is dependent. Some things I enjoy on the kindle, some I enjoy as physical books. I prefer the kindle for traveling and reading personal development (easy to read just a few pages here and there) and also on the treadmill or stationary bike. I prefer physical books in all other cases.

I think kindles are becoming quite reasonably priced ($49 for a kindle fire at my last check) and have the ability to check out library books as well, as stated previously.

In the end, it's a personal decision, but I use both.

28d0e585e31cb4b15d39841900e59ad98495584c

1) Movement - Nada.

2) Reading - Lots accomplished. Read a few chapters of the Martian during my nail appointment.

Picked up the dress, looks good fits good. Got nails done and brows waxed. Picked up a birthday present for my little sister. Still gotta pack tonight, but I'm ready to go!!!!

Today at work will be torture.

Two viceclamps and a 2" hole saw bit would enable this idea. But it wouldn't be pleasant for anyone involved, especially for the book.

I don't think the library would like that either!

Days 2.4-2.7 Wedding Fun!

My brother is married yay! A grand time had by all. Standard wedding fun, rehearsal dinner, wedding, pictures, reception etc. Also involved: party bus, casino, Mississippi River museum and aquarium, waterpark, lots of family time. I'm a little tired of subsisting snacky foods and alcohol alone. Ready to eat like a normal person again.

I managed to only take 3 pictures? So here is one.

d6c1b8a857ba0dfb138b96f962aa3ac8.jpg

1) Movement - Thursday none, Friday caught Pokemon by the river (Dubuque, IA knows whats up!), Saturday danced the night away, Sunday caught more pokemon

2) Read - Thursday and Sunday only, too busy Friday and Saturday. Finished the Martian. I wept a little.

Day 3.1

1) Movement - Gymnastics!!!

Handstand practice, vault (which I just could. not. get.), back walkovers (picked these up super easily!), bars- mostly glide swings +toes to bar - need to figure out what to do with my arms for a kip, I'm all legs right now. Finished with some core work on parallettes, mostly tuck sits and I'm not sure what its called but chest facing the floor, legs in straddle and balancing on my hands on the parallettes. I think I was doing it wrong though because I was digging my elbows into my sides. meh.

2) Reading- no time. Went to the grocery store instead which was MUCH needed.

That's actually Mr. J.

Well, then you married well.  A bearded man is a better man (says the guy who can't actually grow a full beard).

For kips, you just kind of keep your arms straight and "pull your pants up" when your legs get to the bar. But like the closest non-gymnastics movement I can think of is just like the negative of a front plate raise?

Congrats to your brother! :D

Congrats your brother on his new marriage and congrats to Mr. J on successful beard game.

I'm tip-toe-ing around starting The Martian. I'm kinda saving it as a reward for getting other shit done, cuz if I start it, nothing else will probably happen until I finish it. But maybe super fast binge reading is the solution.
