I had Mulan songs stuck in my head sooo CHALLENGE THEME WOOHOO!

ANYWHOOO. So I have a list of both big and little things that I keep not quite getting around to taking care of because it's easy to do that WOOPS. I've decided to do a getting all this shit done based challenge since holding myself accountable on the internet seems to be pretty effective for me! (I will still be doing all my wacky fitness stuff a ton of hours a week but all of that happens pretty automatically for me these days!

 

GOAL 1: Get at least one thing from this list done or worked on every week

 

Actually remember to do blood test for your physical from APRIL (hahaha woops)

Listen to this cd you are borrowing from your coworker so you can give it back (or rip it to mp3 & put on phone & give back or SOMETHING)

Take measurements for future catio & sketch out plan for future catio using measurements

Get car windows tinted

Back up stuff from old computer so you can finally get rid of ancient unused paperweight of computer

Set up your damn air conditioner

Get rid of mini elliptical I don't use

Take old clothes to thrift store

Reorganize clothes I am keeping for better efficiency

Tear up and recycle giant cardboard box in the office

Call plumber (or have brother call plumber) to unclog upstairs sink

 

GOAL 2:  Summer Flea-pocalypse prevention. Advantage does not seem to do SHIT anymore to actually keep the kittehs flea free so I have to figure out a way to keep this shit under control this year. Seriously if anyone has suggestions on more things to add that have worked for them I am all ears. We have had an increase in number of hot months PLUS humidity plus the flea prevention meds not working so...yeah...UGH.

 

Vacuum - at least 2x per week

Flea Combing - at least every other day (4 ish times per week minimum)

Maintain Flea traps/ maybe also get more of those?

 

 

GOAL 3:  Declutter & Clean at least 5 min on days when I have at least 2 hours free in a row.

So much cleaning to do. Some of which is covered in things above but also just a lot of cleaning and getting rid of shit to do in order to be able to take care of the big ticket items above!

 

GOAL 4:  Take blood pressure once a week.

Thanks to family genes I have high blood pressure inspite of being a healthy weight and getting plenty of exercise. I need to keep track of numbers to make sure meds I take are working as expected.

I spent probably a solid 15-30 seconds taping my phone screen with increasing frantic-ness going, "Oh....oh no! Stahp. GAH STAHP AHHH" with my co workers begining to exchange glances of extreme worry.

Right?! And I even bought a cuff thing since I know getting myself to go somewhere to do it wasn't going to happen, but this means I have NO excuse for never doing it. Fail. Lol!

our grocery store that we go to has a free one.  i just need to make it a habit to do it.  I know my wife would support it since she knows my family history.   I think i hesitate because if i start tracking it then i can't deny it anymore and i'll have to start doing more about it.

I feel you on this. Since my doctor initially noticed my resting rate being higher than it should be and not at all related to what it should be relative to my lifestyle I sort of couldn't avoid it. Blah!  It's good to treat though if it's a family issue because if it goes untreated that is not good for you! (But yes admitting it and actually doing stuff about it sucks!)

 

I was hoping since I am fit and exercise a lot and eat decently that maybe I wouldn't have the high BP issue that everyone else in my family does as many of them also are overweight and don't pay as much attention to eating healthy. But alas, much like the one other fit person on my mom's side o' the family, I too have BP issues! Genetics are inconvenient in this case -- UGH!

Speaking of accountability, I thought of two more things I need to get done. YAY ADD TO THE LIST.

 

I did actually ask my brother if he could take care of the clogged sink thing and call the plumber (he is home way more than I am so I wouldn't be there to let people in if I did call anywho!) 

 

And I suppose I should also add once the sink is unclogged I need to get a little strainer thing to put in the sink so this doesn't happen again... I accidentally dropped a little mini plastic dropper bottle in the sink and it was a perfect size to drop straight in there. We tried checking the trap and I tried plunging to get it out and NOPE.... I don't think drano vs plastic bottle would be a good battle soooo plumber. And seriously our plumber is GREAT and always fixes shit we've been trying to fix on our own super fast and we're like oh right...pro and shit....He also lives super close, so he tends to get to us super speedy.

I am surprisingly really really enjoying ballet. Last time I took it I was pretty meh about it, but it is SO GOOD for nailing down form stuff on a bunch of things I neglect to work on. I think in general it's nice to be taking a technique class as we don't tend to do a lot of just drilling technique stuff when I am working on shows -- just drilling specific choreo. My pirouettes are improving so much! Funny that how practicing something regularly makes you better at it.... lol

So strange that practice makes things better :P I really need to get back in the studio, you are inspiring me to make it happen! I think I much prefer perfecting technique to learning coreo. Nothing like that feeling of nailing a perfect double without turning too far :)

Hehe I used to be the opposite in that I'd waaaay prefer choreo over technique but I am starting to find a deep love for technique work too (I blame getting into strength training where I spend so many hours doing repetitive things focusing on form!!)

 

But yaaaas, nailing a double feels so good! Or actually nailing a 1/4 turn is probably even harder for me to land cleanly...like HOW DO I STOP that fast yo...I'm getting better though!!! She has us do drills where we do passe, 1/4 turn, 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn, single from 5th (which ARGHHHHH #*&^%$*&@(&@ turns from 5th. My nemesis. I can do them now, but it's been a struggle. So much harder than from 4th!)

 

Also I managed to semi sort of do a fouette turn the other day. It wasn't pretty buuuut I generally got it and actually stopped facing the correct direction and stuff soooo PROGRESS. (I've been afraid to try those for pretty much ever.)
