deathbyshiny's Death to Laziness: Level 1.

Recommended Posts

I'm going on vacation for the first half of this challenge, so I'm separating it by weeks rather than goals. The first two weeks may seem a little meh, but I am being as realistic as I can be: I fully understand that sometimes it's hard to eat well and exercise while on a trip.

Weeks 1 and 2 (Vacation weeks):

1. Try to eat as well as possible. This means trying to pick the most beneficial foods at continental breakfast buffets and ordering decent food at restaurants. I'm going to try not to load up on carbs all day, and pick more proteins and vegetables when I can order something.

2. Try to walk as much as possible. If we can walk somewhere rather than hop on the subway or take a taxi, then we should try to do this.

3. Read while on the plane/on trains. My goal is to finish my current book and read at least one other one while I'm gone.
Bonus!: Try something new whenever possible. This might mean new foods, or new activities. That's the fun of going to another country, right?

Week 3:

1. At least one serving of vegetables each day.

2. Go on a walk 3 times this week.

3. Read one chapter each day.

4. Do Duolingo Italian each day.

Week 4:

1. At least two servings of vegetables each day.

2. Go on a walk 4 times this week.

3. Read one chapter each day.

4. Do Duolingo Italian each day.

I liked reading and doing Duolingo during my half challenge, so I'm going to try it again. :D I have several books I want to read before school starts again.

Thanks! I figured it would be unfair to myself to set it up like my previous challenge because I can't guarantee I can follow certain things while I'm away. I don't want to lose sight of why I'm going on vacation, but I don't want to slack off, either!

@durfette I'm currently reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It's taking me forever because I suck at focusing, but I am determined to finish it. No idea what else I'll be taking with me, but I better decide soon, since I leave Saturday!

@Lifter5 Thanks! I need to be realistic since I'm going to want to eat all the things while on vacation!
@Magistra Fay Thanks! :D Good thing I stayed a rebel for now! ;)

I made it back and I didn't gain any weight while I was there \^_^/

Vacation was great! I definitely tried new things while I was over there. I ate foods I normally wouldn't eat, and I walked around more and sat less than I did when I went to Japan in 2013. I have hundreds of pictures to go through (A lot of food!), but I walked a lot, and ate as well as I could. I read when I could, and I branched out!

Now it's back to business! Week 3 here I come!

Today was going to be my third walking day of the week, but thunderstorms squashed that idea. :D I guess that just means more outside time tomorrow! Otherwise things are going well!

Well, I totally bombed this last week and only completed the food aspect, but I am recharging so I can start the next one with a better outlook. Sometimes life happens, and while I tried to do everything else, ridiculous humidity prevented me from walking outside because being able to breathe is super important. Then I lost concentration because my dad had to go in for surgery, so whoops.

But he's doing well, and I'm pumped to get started on something new. :D

Congrats on doing the food part!

Great that you can recharge and have a better outlook. Being kind to yourself is one of the best habits of all.

And glad to hear about your dad.
