I have been living mostly without them for a couple of years now, I just haven't been super strict with it. So I think I have the macro nutrients mostly figured out without them. Guzzi
Good luck with it! Remember you can come back and post updates as often as you want. I always find that I do better when I know I'm going to have to own up to everyone when I post an update. Just a thought, but have you worked out a grading system for each week - 0 coffee outside of time= A, 1-2 coffees = B etc? Lots of people do that so they don't feel like they've failed the whole thing if they slip up once or twice. 1 Quote Make Life Rue The Day Turning back the clock Recipe book 14 Life is far too short to take seriously Link to comment
evolution
Nice goals, I like the "Hell Yeah" goal especially. Derek Sivers who first wrote about that outlook has a lot of good insights that I could use implementing more in my life. 1 Quote Link to comment

Actually pretty well, thank you! I have some overlapping other issues (Allergies, Sarcoidosis, medication ) so it's hard to tell exactly where stuff comes from. I actually started that eating part of the challenge a little early, so I already have met the week I set out to do. Cramps are basically completely gone. So the next part is to think about re-introducing stuff so I can figure out what the problem is. My current thinking is I'll never be able to pinpoint exactly that I have no problem drinking milk but grain is a no go or the other way around. Seems to be more of a gradual tolerance kind of thing. The hell yeah part, well, it's a little more complicated than I thought. There's just many, many instances where my initial thought is Hell NO and then I realise it's part of an epic quest or just some kind of avoidance behaviour or after I did the thing in question it's suddenly Hell Yeah glad I did it. Bass playing actually is on track, I've spent so much time with my basses the last two weeks, it's insane. Unfortunately, my coffee consumption is all over the place. Even worse than when I started. 1 Quote Link to comment
Guzzi
Maybe it would benefit you to do something like a Whole 30? I suffered from dreadful cramps my whole life (from when I was just 4 or 5) and I only realised it was food intolerance when I changed my diet to cut out wheat. After I suffered from a setback with my mobility I had to start reintroducing them simply for convenience but I found that it took almost a year before any symptoms started showing up again. I think that my gut had healed while I was eating better so then the "bad" foods didn't irritate it so much. 1 Quote Make Life Rue The Day Turning back the clock Recipe book 14 Life is far too short to take seriously Link to comment
empinchen
Ah, Whole 30 was the programme I had in the back of my mind - couldn't remember the name. Awesome resource, thank you! But think I will align it with the next challenge. :-) Quote Link to comment
evolution
I just really cut down on my previously ridiculous caffeine intake and what made it much easier was switching some of my coffees to 50/50 instead of full caff, and then to decaf. That way I still got the whole ritual and taste without so much caffeine, so it was less for my mind to struggle with. I used those k-cup pod things but you could use regular brewed coffee. Coffee shops can obviously do it too if you get your coffee at those places. Switching to tea would be even better but that is more of a change than I wanted at this point. If you do drip coffee at home I suppose you could do half the scoops regular and half the scoops decaf to get the same 50/50 blend. 1 Quote Link to comment

I hate to use the word unfortunately in the context of free coffee, but unfortunately I get free, freshly ground and brewed coffee at work in the common kitchen. And it's not decaf. I will have to simply take logging my coffees seriously methinks. Gesendet von meinem ONE E1003 mit Tapatalk 1 Quote Link to comment

If it's keeping you from your goal, then it's not really free, it costs you the goal you're working for I started using an iPhone app to track my caffeine, it has the creative name of "Caffeine App". I tried a few of them and this one is the best, the others stunk IMO. 1 Quote Link to comment

I have learnt a second flow, and have expanded my daily practice to include two flows now. My mobility has gone through the roof (relatively to my humble beginnings) but I'm still convinced pigeon pose was specifically designed to make me feel bad. 1 Quote Link to comment
empinchen
Recap: I managed to hit all my goals except for the coffee one. More power to me! The yoga goal especially has increased my daily wellbeing quite a lot. The hell no goal forced me into a few conflicts, all of which needed to happen. Surprising how little you know people until they have to accept a no for an answer. Gesendet von meinem ONE E1003 mit Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
