sarakingdom
I don't have a new challenge yet, but I'll need a thread ready when I get back. Things I will make a challenge out of: Sleep - more and earlier Water - increase average IF - resume and maintain Meditation - improve regularity and length New day-splitting routines - with IF and working at home, activities drift a little more than they ought. A better productivity measure for this month's tasks Nerd Fitness Academy - I need to learn to follow a routine I think my theme will be Lancre witches, but I'm not sure yet quite what it'll be. 3 Quote I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever. sarakingdom
The Bed Nanny Ogg looked under her bed in case there was a man there. Well, you never knew your luck. Sleep - # of hours: 12 points Sleep - in bed before 11: 5 points There are reasons. I needed it. Also, the wonderful thing about putting Nanny Ogg quotes in this category is that I'm fairly sure there's nothing I could do in a bed that she'd disapprove of, including spending twelve hours sleeping in it. The Bees Bees were [Granny Weatherwax's] one failure. There wasn't a mind in Lancre she couldn't Borrow. She could even see the world through the eyes of earthworms. But a swarm, a mind made up of a thousand mobile parts, was beyond her. It was the toughest test of all. She'd tried over and over again to ride on one, to see the world through ten thousand pairs of multi-faceted eyes all at once, and all she'd ever got was a migraine and an inclination to make love to flowers. Meditation - # of five-minute sets: 2 points The Bottle Distillation of alcohol was illegal in Lancre. On the other hand, King Verence had long ago given up any idea of stopping a witch doing something she wanted to do, so merely required Nanny Ogg to keep her still somewhere it wasn’t obvious. She thoroughly approved of the prohibition, since this gave her an unchallenged market for her own product, known wherever men fell backwards into a ditch as ‘suicider'. Water - # of liters: 3 points The Bones "If it gives you trouble again, you know where I live. You know where everyone lives. Tuesday mornings is a good time. I'm generally in." I SHALL REMEMBER. THANK YOU. Daily structure - intermittent fasting (out of 1): 1 point Daily structure - morning work startup routine (out of 5): 0 points Daily structure - extra task bonus: 3 points Daily structure - 5 each health/work/chores split (out of 6): 4 points I still haven't quite found the right way to timebox bits of my work day. Bad enough being in charge of my own schedule, but not having meals during the day kind of gets rid of a lot of the ways you mentally divide up the day. So I'm still working on that. Could be some yoga, but I'd rather find something I don't control the scheduling of, so I can't let it slide. The Body Granny looked out at the dull grey sky and the dying leaves and felt, amazingly enough, her sap rising. A day ago the future had looked aching and desolate, and now it looked full of surprises and terror and bad things happening to people… if she had anything to do with it, anyway. Nerd Fitness Academy (0/3 - 5 point bonus for all three): 0 points Swimming: 0 points Walking: 0 points Yoga: 0 points Total points: 30 points This is mostly a rest day. A badly-needed one, for various reasons. But on the whole, I'm back from my vacation in great shape for a challenge. Had a great time, did a lot of walking, lost some weight. Desperately in need of some stretching, I think. A bit stiff from sleeping oddly, and sore from, I dunno, things. 3 Quote I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever. sarakingdom
Food as an aphrodisiac was not a concept that had ever caught on in Lancre, apart from Nanny Ogg’s famous Carrot and Oyster Pie. (Carrots so you can see in the dark, she’d explain, and oysters so’s you’ve got something to look at.) I am utterly starving today. I moved back my IF eating period by an hour, because I needed to concentrate on work and not food. Now I've been eating for an hour, and just can't get enough food into me. So hungry. (This is rare for me on IF. I've been hungry since I got home, and my sleep needs have also gone up lately, so I have to think there's some physical repair going on that needs sleep and food.) I am so hungry, I would buy a sausage off of Dibbler. I would steal a curry from Death. I would eat anything Nanny Ogg put in front of me, regardless of how ridiculous it looked. 2 Quote I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever.
