Ok, I truly feel like crap now.  SWMBO laid into SquirrelKing and I over that $350 piece of crap car we had the chance to buy the other week.  I had looked at it and felt the damn thing was going to be a money pit.  Here's a real f***ing news flash something is not always better than nothing.  If you think someone is better off with your broken ass sh** than not having anything you're actually wrong.  For example, my family does not have a car,  however a car that is going to need constant repairs and maintenance would actually be a greater burden on us financially and time-wise than not having a car at all.  I like to refer to this as the "dollar store can opener effect."  I can buy a can opener for $1 or less at the dollar junk shop, but said can opener is not going to last very long and will have to be replaced very quickly.  I could conversely go to the restaurant/kitchen supply shop and spend $20 on a can opener of a much higher quality level that will last several years at a minimum.

That was why I had made the decision I had about the goddamn car.  SquirrelKing agreed with me about it.  SWMBO felt that we didn't consider her feelings or her point of view about the situation.  I understand, that her having to carry six bags of groceries 3/4 of a mile home on payday is a real f***ing burden on her.  F*** I walk 2+ miles to the goddamn bus stop every morning to get to work.  Then again, SWMBO has been starting to have real problems with her anxiety and all the walking through high traffic areas, getting near constantly threatened by drivers who don't want to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and just being stuck at home isn't helping that at all.  She brought up the car, I got overly defensive and yelled at her and then we ended up fighting all day.  Now, we've got to go meet PostEmoGirl's boyfriend's family for dinner so I've got to be charming and diplomatic when I mentally feel like I'm the most inconsiderate jerk on the planet.  F***ing brain weasels.

This is actually a much more normal eating pattern for me, two fairly high calorie meals and nothing else.  The entire point being that you're trying to maximize the amount of calories and nutrients you get from a single meal because you're never quite sure when the next one is coming.  I haven't needed to eat using this strategy for quite some time but my wife and I still tend to cook this way to stretch the grocery budget.  The sitting and snacking at my desk was a recent development after my last raise at work.

I am not a rich man.  At various points in the past I've been a very poor man.  In many ways my wife and I retain many of the habits from the more impoverished parts of our past when things were much more unstable.

Well, at least over the weekend I managed to get a somewhat normal amount of sleep. Last night I didn't get that much but that was a willing sacrifice so SWMBO and I could have some time while SquirrelKing was out driving late and the kids were abed to do what husbands and wives do.

Not to give to many details, but there's been a great deal of dysfunction in that area over the past year, but last night went well and certain medication was not need.

So, since I'm encountering a bit of difficulty in reducing the gut. I was looking at the "Modern Hero Diet" on darebee.com

A variation of the breakfast + snack + meal formula might actually work very well for me. This means I start each day off with a protein shake and possibly a freggie. My midday snack is a protein bar (Clif Builder's Bar or Quest Bar). Dinner is whatever the family is eating. Until the end of the current challenge I will allow myself two additional snacks a day, as long as they are freggies.
