Unfortunately, I live in the land of Bourbon (Northern Central Kentucky).  Bourbon cream is good, but don't y'all across the pond say Americans should never be allowed near food?  The liquor store by my flat sells Bourbon Cream filled, Bourbon chocolate dipped twinkies, both with and without Bourbon smoked bacon crumbles.   Wrong on so many levels.

 

Today, I'm grateful I woke up on time and was able to get a full half hour of yoga in this morning.

 

I'm grateful today was payday. :-)

 

I'm grateful my kids are doing well in school.

I think we're maybe on a different track there.

The Bourbon biscuit (sometimes referred to as a Bourbon cream) is a sandwich style biscuit consisting of two thin oblong dark chocolate–flavoured biscuits with a chocolate buttercream filling.

 

Not that I don't completely approve of y'alls take on it. Bourbon is good. Chocolate is good. Twinkies are gooooooooood.

Yep, separated by a common language. In this area Bourbon Cream is a version of Irish/Scotch cream but made with Bourbon whiskey:  http://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/brands/bourbon-cream

There's one heck of a cheesecake recipe here somewhere... crushed British bourbon cream and butter base; filling made from cream cheese, American bourbon cream, juuuust a little orange zest, and honey; and then I'd probably add a topping made from toasted crushed pecans and hazelnuts, some lightly crushed mini salt pretzels, some pretty syrup-canned mandarin segments, and a swirl of chocolate-Drambuie sauce.

When I was in grad school (read: when I was fat) we had Brownie Thursday in my lab every week. Someone would bring in a delicious treat.

We purchased a community cookbook where all recipes were baked goods involving alcohol. Good times.

Gratitude

I am grateful for time and space to unwind and be creative.

Gratitude

I am grateful for pets who allow me to pet them.

I am grateful for the water cooler in my office.

I am grateful for new beginnings.

 

It's week 1, and I'm going to kick it off with a 72-hour water only fast to give my system a bit of a reboot. This should hopefully help with the chocolate and energy drink issues.
