Doctorake's Final Fantasy

 

In coming off my last challenge I wanted to try something more weekly based as opposed to a daily list of stuff that had really been stressing me out. I want the ability to take a day where I ignore some stuff and not have a penalty because of it. So here I am needing to restore the four crystals and bring balance back into my world.

 

I will have a daily battle and update the day after like I usually do.

I will log my 4 areas of focus and see how high of a % I can renew each crystal.

Earth Crystal

 

The Earth Crystal will be recharged based on my workouts, lifting, body weight exercises, and my stretching. This is a 7 days a week deal for me and I would like to go 100%, I will not beat myself up though over injuries or anything else.

Fire Crystal

 

The Fire Crystal will be recharged based on working on my deck, yard, and house work. Hoping to get 5 days a week and no task is too small.

Water Crystal

 

The Water Crystal will be recharged based on my intake. This will be alcohol, food and pills(vitamins/creatine). This one also needs to be 7 days a week. I am currently on day 5 of no drinking for 30 days(Wife challenged me) and am likely going to continue it until IRONMAN Maryland(10/1).

Air Crystal

 

The Air Crystal will be recharged based on my hobbies. This will be any of my exciting hobbies I have been neglecting. This may include but is not limited to; aquariums, nerd room, woodworking, magic cards, ardiuno, welding, etc. I am hoping for 3 days a week on this one but could do even more if I manage my time better.

Damn those are some lovely crystals... but seriously, your meal prep game is astronomical.  Do I spot chunks of cheese on your broccoli, and am I right to assume you're going fairly low-carb Paleo and shooting for your 2600 goal?  If you're anywhere around my size that ought to be just above maintenance levels... sounds like a ton of meat and veggies!  B)

AGGGHHHH, the crystals were supposed to be much smaller. O well, I can find a better fit later.

 

Cheese and broccoli, yes sir.

 

I had high blood sugar levels about 2 months back right before Eagleman, and was eating white rice and gels like crazy while training, plus those micro brews are no joke on the carbs. I switched to < 100 carbs a day and in order to hit calories I had to bump up some cheese and fattier meats. I am pretty much doing paleo with dairy at this point. 2,600 is not too hard to hit, cheese certainly helps.

 

Here is a sample of my daily:

 

  1. 4 eggs, 3 bacon, 1 serving cottage cheese
  2. 3oz chicken thighs 1/3rd of a bag of frozen steamers(broccoli or caughli/broccoli), 1oz cheese
  3. 3oz chicken thighs 1/3rd of a bag of frozen steamers(broccoli or caughli/broccoli), 1oz cheese
  4. 3oz Steak 1/3rd of a bag of frozen steamers(broccoli or caughli/broccoli), 1oz cheese
  5. 1 cup almond milk mixed with one scoop whey
  6. 1/2 bratwurst, 2oz liverwurst, 1oz cheese
  7. 30 grams peanut butter, 100 grams pepper, 100 grams tomatoes, 30 grams lite dressing(oil based type)

Sometimes I will have about 100 calories of ice cream in the evening or something of that sort depending on my carbs. Saturday on my long bike day I managed to fit lettuce wrapped five guys in.

Also I am ignoring yesterday, things were done(beers), but I stayed under carbs and only slightly over calories. Stretching was skipped, shades were installed, grass was cut. Not a horrible day but I will officially start the challenge today.

Also, that's a ton of cheese.  Sounds amazing!

Embedding them does not give me that option, I found some nice new ones though.

 

Some days I can get up to like 10oz of cheese. Amazing I have no issues with it.

Hoping to only work a half day today and get home and do some major work on my deck. I have a recovery day for training, need to get some thorough stretching in since I ran a 20k race pretty hard yesterday then had hockey. Meal prepped yesterday so I should be good on that front. Maybe will have a chance tonight for some hobby time, who knows.

ARghhh, this challenge is going well outside of me updating this thread. I am hitting very high volume workouts now and starting to really research my vacation to Japan in November. It is leaving me with less and less free time. Add on top of that a nasty bike crash last Saturday(walked/rode away) and man I just have not been up to updating.

 

But hey! Never too late to start again, so I will give this challenge one last shot starting today. The 20k race went really well also, I ran at an 8:46 pace but it blew out my knees and IT bands for a couple days afterwards.

Ouch, the bike crash and race aftermath hurt just thinking about them! Glad that race went well and that you found time to post. The trip to Japan sounds exciting!
