RedStone
Happy Zero Week everyone! ZERO WEEK!!!! It's time to go on this weird trip that's been looming over my calendar like some sort of mysterious fog that may or may not turn us all inside out. I've absolutely been looking forward to it - I always have a blast with this corner of the family, and we tend to meet up in pristine bits of nature hidden away from the chaos of life... But it's also a solid two weeks away, and I've been using it as an excuse avoid life things, pushing a lot of it off for "after." Well, after this last challenge of soul searching, none of that really matters now, and I have a determined path going forward, but I am still looking forward to both going away, and also hitting the ground running when I get back, both of which will be hapenning during this challenge! I'm also quite sure that I'm completetly unsure of what my connectivity will be like while I'm away (the campgrounds boast "poor service" and "limited wifi" in order to enhance our unplugged experience), so I'll do my best to stay up on stuff here, but I may ghost cause unplugged ZERO WEEK! Is for max testing to see where I'm at after this first round of PHUL. Resting today with some yoga, testing tomorrow on Tuesday, cleaning the house, using up groceries, packing - everything to get ready to leave on Thursday (at like 3 in the morning. Why is it so hard to get a reasonably timed flight??) ~Max test ~Adult for trip _____ WEEK 1 I'll be gone doing wildernessy stuff, also sleeping, eating, and generally being lazy. I have a planned break from heavy lifting during this time, and have already stopped myself mid google - looking for gyms with day passes I'll be doing plenty of other physical things, and will allow copious amounts of BW stuff like pushups and squats if I want it, and am planning on packing the TRX even if I don't use it. ACE materials as well. Expect pictures when connectivity allows ~Don't lift!!! ~Don't cut!!! ~Don't stress!!! _____ WEEK 2 Will essentially serve as my zero week for the next round of PHUL, feeling out working set numbers and adjusting hypertrophy choices for weaknesses and aesthetics. I will also be starting (or continuing... we'll see how travel study goes), a strict routine for ACE certification prep. It's too soon to make the overall projections, but I want to be ready for the test as soon as possible. ~Don't let holiday lazy seep into real life ~Be realistic about hyper alternatives _____ WEEKS 3 & 4 I should be back to a normal routine by week 3, training a minimum of 4X a week, studying on the regular, and ironing out the last of the kinks in the play before production starts in September. ~Lift ~Eat ~Study 4 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

Jord
I'm excited for you and max testing! I know at least I look forward to that part of my program. Although in my case it is AMRAP test vs 1 rep test, but it is still exciting! Get lots of sleep, hydrate, eat and fuel those gains! And then after that you get to do wildernessy stuff, which is THE BEST! 1 Quote Jǫrð, Delvian Nomad - Level 12 { Battle Log } Link to comment

RedStone
Okay zero week! ZERO WEEK! Did the testing. Ate the foods. Had a great weigh in this morning for a testing day at 107.4# Squat went well enough, I took a 20#PR from 155 to 175# I think I probably could have gone up once more, but I'm being very cautious with my knees for now. I can see I'm at parallel, but I could stand to go a bit lower. Something I'll be working on with training and mobility work. Bench fell flat, I failed on my previous PR of 105# so, clearly didn't have it in me to go for more! Deadlift was sort of a trainwreck success, if we don't count the part where I almost blacked out right after - I totally got video But, terrible form with rounded back and near blackout aside, I took a 10# PR and my first ever double plates at 225#! Wilks for today was super close, capping in at 294.14. Kicker is I would have hit 300 if I had pushed the 105# bench. Ah well, I'll def be switching up my tricep accessories for the next round, and have some good ideas now for body weight work in Idaho (more dips, pushups, lat stuff, squats of course ) So I'm more than a little exhausted, and that session feels satisfactory to leave behind as my last lifting session before the break! (Videos are also posted on form check board if anyone feels like making any suggestions! ) 3 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

I'd say, sometimes? For me, yeah, there's def still weight on my shoulders, but it's easier to move. Then again, there are some days (particularly mid moooooon cycle ) where everything feels flat out light. It also seems that over time, (and presumably, as I build more muscle) the weight that is still "heavy" but still manageable or easy to move, slowly gets higher! So I'd say, yeah, 115# felt heavy at one point, but is a light warm up weight now. 145# feels heavy now, but we'll see what happens in the future... So I'm not sure if the heavy stuff ever truly feels light (I keep thinking about the way I can still feel pressure but not pain with Novocain at the dentist) but at the same time it seems logical that it does, probably much slower as the weight gets higher. Just a guess! To some degree this is when I know it's time to move forward - if I can get X5 reps that I don't struggle through I can try reps at the next weight... or if I'm doing working sets at a higher number and I do triples - once I can do those with relative ease, then I can move on to X5. 1 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment
