Taddea Zhaan, now with even more juggernaut

The challenge title is probably going to change, but it's the first title that popped into my head, and it really made me chuckle. I promise I'm a grown woman in her 30's and not a 12 year old.

I'm skipping zero week, so I guess here goes!

Goal 1: Continue the Juggernaut, 3x per week

tumblr_miui0touxh1qd4q8ao1_500.gif

Keep on keepin' on. I'm on Month 2 (8's wave) Week 2 (Intensification Phase). This month's wave starts at 65% of training max and ends at 80%.

Goal 2; Track all of the foods - HONESTLY.

2cnjw43.gif

Focus is on my weight cut from 185# to 175#, currently 182#. I don't have a calorie goal but I'm going to be mindful of the fact that 2000=maintenance and 1800 would help facilitate the cut going faster. I can only learn from my food tracking if I do it honestly, so if I eat 45 tortilla chips, put in 45 tortilla chips, not 1 serving, which is 7 chips. :sobs: You can add me on MFP and hassle me if you wish, PM me for my username. I will be weighing in to my challenge on Mondays to keep the weekend accountable.

Goal 3: Drink 125 ounces of water per day.

nPm2M.gif

I downloaded the Plant Nanny app and I don't want my plant to die. I expect to pee a lot until my body adjusts. But then I'll get in extra steps walking to the bathroom, bonus? I keep putting water in my goals and then I fall off the wagon. So this one needs to stay for at least a few challenges until I make it a habit.

Bonus 1 time goals:

  • Switch out DB bent over rows for barbell rows so I can make proper progressions. Try this for a month and see how I like it.
  • As some of you know, I haven't worn make-up for like 12 years. Last month I started wearing mascara to work. I need to start looking more professional and AWAKE in the office as I get older. I need to pick 1-2 more things to add to my routine. Suggestions encouraged!
  • Finish sewing my medieval brown dress by the end of the month for an event the weekend of Aug 26.
  • Plant carrot seeds and 1 other fall crop into the garden. This means I need to suck it up and harvest the beets which seem to have stopped growing.

It's not a goal but I'm going to keep trying to do the circuit class 1x week and yoga class 1x week.

Juggernaut Info:

I had to put it at the end otherwise it spoiler'd the rest of my post.

Jugger those nuts!!! Love it :D why fix it if it aint broken? If it's any help, I did the plant nanny thing a few challenges ago, and had to work my way up to larger mounts of water cause the discomfort was so bad. I just lied to the app about how big I was :P and add everytime I feel like I'm leveled out with my water intake, increasing it slowly has really helped me anyways!

Good luck with the challenge! I'll be stalking you as usual on MFP ;)

As someone who drinks a lot of fluids, I'd say the body doesn't really adjust.  Good hydration makes most processes run more smoothly, including bladder filling.  Maybe one can build up some bladder capacity.  Even so, good hydration goes well with cutting.

nothing juggernaut

I have been researching different intermediate programs when I hit the wall with my current LP and I was really considering Juggernaut.  I look forward to seeing your experience with the program.

Good luck to you on your quest!

I actually don't have a problem drinking the water. I don't feel too full. I have a pretty big body frame, so I can handle the capacity. I do have a small bladder, but that also doesn't bother me too much. The fact of the matter is that I'm just lazy and having to refill my water all the time is a PIA. But I don't want a bigger water bottle because I love the one I have. The flow is perfect, I can chug it, and it's not too heavy to carry around. It's 22oz.

Thanks! I'm loving it so far. I gained about 7.5# on each lift during the first wave, which is good for me. I skipped the first deload week. However, it depends on your goals. It is a sub maximal training program (you don't do 1RM testing) designed for athletes. So it is great if you want good recovery between waves (cycles) and you have other fitness activities you are trying to accomplish. In my case I am also working on general physical preparedness. I probably need to work on GPP for about a year and then maybe I can look at a program that has more training near 90% of max.

LOL that's fair! Well hopefully plant nanny will do it's job! It's miserable to see that little bugger wilting, and the varieties get weird lol

Yeah, I think I picked a dandelion and right now it is just a blob, which doesn't even make any sense. My only complaint is that I wished it showed how many you already drank, rather than just that little tiny ass pie chart.

Those are some of the reasons that I have been considering  it.  At the moment my main goal is weight loss and all of the other programs that I was looking at (Texas Method, Madcow, etc.) say that you have to eat like a horse to be able to recover from them.  Thanks for the info.

I think I've given my suggestions before, but I will give them again! :D

Foundation or tinted moisturizer + mascara +lip stick/gloss. Easiest, most basic-bitch makeup that packs the most punch for the least effort.

Thank you! I tried to find those posts and gave up, so I figured I'd just ask you all again. That sounds like a routine I can manage and is what I've also read when I attempted to consult the interwebs!

So I survived Monday night circuit class but my legs are on FIRE. If I start getting serious leg DOMS I might have to rethink my lifting accessories. Not that it's a bad thing but wowza.

Circuit class: Squats, lunges and walking lunges, and jumps oh my! Plus all that upper body jazz.

The core work between circuits is awesome. Otherwise I'd probably never do abs. #truth My plank abilities are improving. I think tonight I accomplished my first plank shoulder slaps not on my knees!

One good thing about major DOMS is that it generally produces an adaptation in that the same activity will create significantly less DOMS the next time around.  However, a fully randomized class might be intentionally designed for maximum DOMS for the people who need DOMS to feel they did something worthwhile.

DOMS.

Hey, hey, good challenge TZ. The make up thing made me laugh, the last time I wore make up was the school ball back in 1988. So I have been kinda trying the tinted moisturiser. I have been too embarrassed to go further, because I feel like, I look as though I have used Crayola for make up. Oh well baby steps!

Wait! What............?

This is why I'm using baby steps, I don't want to show up to work one day and people are all WTF happened to your face!? I figure if I start simple and progress over time people are less likely to notice, and I can learn one makeup skill at a time.

You already do mascara?  One possible Next step: liner!  What color are your eyes?

Also, I have said it before, but I use an "almost powder" foundation.  It is fantastic (well, unless it is 95 degrees and humid outside - then everything just melts off, anyway).

I have really dark brown eyes, almost black! Here are two pics from me this morning with just the mascara on. In one of the bathrooms at work.

yes I have bony skeletor hands despite being nearly obese.

I think probably just blood flow energized from walking from bus stop into the office. (I do the commuter park and then bus ride thing, ahhh university life). But in general it really does already look like I wear some kind of light lip color, I don't know if it's always that dark.

The weirdest thing about losing weight has been having my face shape slowly appear...
