Sylvaa wasn't sure how far she had fallen or how far she had to go. 

 

So I recently downloaded Alice in Wonderland to read (I'm going through classics - this might make for interesting challenges) and I thought the idea of down the rabbit hole is quite fitting considering I just got back from a vacation with ALL THE FOOD (there were definitely donuts involved). Because my goal for this challenge is to get my eating back on track and not fall down that rabbit hole.

 

Goal 1:

Track the food. Alice knows that certain foods and drinks can make her bigger or smaller. So do I, I just don't like to listen to that logic. 

 

Goal 2:

Time Management. My current project is winding down, I've got 6 more weeks to complete my current class, and I need a schedule.

By the end of the challenge I want to get to a point where I am up by 5:30 and in bed by 9:30 (not reading).

 

Goal 3:

Set aside some time to feed my soul at least a few times a week.

She already offered to help turn your neighborroommate into Italian food, so eating souls isn't a big stretch!

So it's a good thing that I didn't have an exercise goal this challenge. I'm self-diagnosing myself with Low Hamstring Tendonitis (characterized by behind the knee pain radiating between the upper calf and lower hamstring). Yay! Treatment is no running, RICE, NSAIDs, and a brace as needed. Ugh.

 

I got up early yesterday and headed down to the gym at the hotel - did an interval workout on the elliptical. My food log is also caught up, although I need to stop eating so much. I'm also on track to get all the work I need to get done this week completed - even with the additional stuff I got today. It's not going to be a pretty few days here which sucks. 

 

Then again, instead of sleeping last night (I was wide awake - maybe from the caffeine I had late in the evening - although this would be new) I finished my most recent book. At least I was feeding my soul?

I wonder if any of the kinesiology tape would work if your stuck some back there behind your knee..? And swimming, Mrs. Swimming Instructor, you could alway do that right?

I've actually already been looking into the K-tape to see if it would be of any help.

 

As to the swimming, I'm making the mindful decision to not exercise. I've been having pain for almost two weeks now and on vacation (other than two days) the only real exercise I was getting was walking and playing in the ocean. Unfortunately, even walking is making it hurt (so I don't have any actual pain while walking or exercising, but when I go to rest - like at night, it is so bad that it has been impacting my sleep). I have a super high pain tolerance (like, I had both my children without pain medication), so for the pain to be bad enough to keep me up at night, I've got to not be stupid. According to the internet, once the pain subsides, I should then begin stretching and doing some PT like exercises. 

 

As to swimming once it is feeling better, if I get the promotion I am up for this year, then I'm joining the Y, so that I can start swimming there. Unfortunately, where I live, there aren't a ton (read two) gyms that have pools. (Did I tell anyone that I was recommended for a promotion?)

 

So waking up at 5:30 hasn't been a challenge. But getting out of bed at 5:30, maybe a bit more so. I don't think it would be an issue if I actually had a reason to get up and do something (like exercise), but since I'm not then I end up playing on my phone instead. Baby steps, right?

I hear you on waking up being easy but getting out of bed being hard. I've been in the habit of waking up at 5, but I tend to stay in bed til 615-630 and then rush around getting ready to leave for work at 640.  The whole reason I started waking up was that I am thinking of starting to hit the gym at 5, but I wanted to get used to being awake first (baby steps as you say).

 

Also I'm sorry you are hurting!  Good call on the exercise break. Get better.  *hugs*

After landing on the ground with a surprisingly soft "thump" after all the falling. Sylvaa glanced around at the beauty around her. Giant, colorful mushrooms sprung up from the ground. Multitudes of flowers so tiny they created a carpet surrounded her. There was a path in front of her leading to somewhere, so she did as any good adventurer would do - she began to follow it.

 

Other than I'm slacking on updating my food log from yesterday, food this week hasn't been terrible. I've been a little above calorie targets, but nothing horrible. I also threw away some dark chocolate this week instead of eating it because it was so bad (I am a chocolate snob). 

 

I'm also just catching up on threads now as I've had a horribly busy work week. One of my tasks didn't go as planned, so the most important task has been to fix everything involved with that. I'll spend most of today polishing that up and creating a ppt. Then I might get to start checking off some busy work! 

 

I also took Wednesday night to do nothing but read. It was glorious. It also really helped my knee for the night. Even walking around normally is aggravating it and getting comfortable to sleep is really hard. That being said, I stayed up way too late reading, but still got up when I wanted to!

Someone somewhere mentioned sleeping in your workout clothes, so that all you have to do is throw on shoes. I did this Tuesday and it was really nice. I'm also a multiple alarm girl (I set at least two, if not three, alarms in 15 minute increments so I can still hit snooze!).

This answer does not surprise me from you! I'm debating how "all out" I want to go with a costume (last year was the 70's and 80's and I was Joan Jett - not too hard).

Pfft, I've already got access to a Harry Potter wand (HP, Luna, Hermoine, and He Who Shall Not be Named all reside at my house). 

 

I'm torn between either Thelma or Louise, Mia Wallace, Ace Ventura (who doesn't want to wear a tutu?), or Donnie Darko at the moment. I think they'd all be fairly simple.
