Interestingly, new guy said my pelvis is tilted a little more than the ideal angle (and also not evenly tilted, one side is more than the other, creating further issues) He also said my lower back is a bit stiff which surprised me, I always thought it was quite flexible. 15 minutes ago, Liam P Boyle said: Actually, I'm quite serious - when I was doing my indian club exercises regularly my shoulder pain and all the popping, cracking, and creaking went down to almost nothing. All it took was about 10 minutes each morning doing some basic rotations with extremely light weight, not the 5 pounders I use now. 1/2 lb (0.23 kg) would be more than plenty of weight to start with. When I'm working on my form (basically during this challenge) I use two 36" (just under 1 meter) x 1" (2.54 cm) oak dowels. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk Wow, good results! I guess I'll wait to see what the physio recommends (he's making up a program for me this week) he did ask if I had any small weights though - I don't, but he said tin cans would do the trick lol. Maybe he has something similar in mind. Quote Current Challenge Link to comment

fleaball
For context: two of the lead actors (playing the cats) and a guest star (the girl) apparently got bored waiting for the other lead to show up. She showed them the video and they decided to do their own. It's probably funnier if you're in the fandom but oh well. I am just amused by grown-ass men recreating cat videos.

Owlet
Blergh, fighting the negative thoughts today... but there are some positive ones mixed in there. Some things @Bee said got me thinking - about trusting in my voice/myself. Over the last year or so I have grown a lot in terms of learning/daring to speak up, whether it's asking friends for help or telling people when I'm upset or supporting people. But over the last couple of days I've realised I still have great difficulty in trusting in my voice/opinions/self/whatever you want to call it. Like with the first physio I was seeing, I had all these hunches that he wasn't the best choice for me, but it wasn't until I started seeing this new guy that I could have any confidence in myself and believe those hunches. It't the same with so many situations in my life. I've been trying to work on self confidence for a long time now, but I think this is a more tangible aspect of that - just trusting in my intuition and being decisive. I am so indecisive sometimes :/ I was just messaging a friend from university and she sent me a link to her website which is so professional and her painting practice is so much more developed than mine For some reason I just kind of froze in my final year at Art School and since then I've never felt like I have a firm idea of what I want to paint, whereas she has this really clear style and direction. Classic trap, compare yourself to your peers, argh. I know I shouldn't do this. Trying to use it instead to determine to work on trusting my own intuition. I did at least wake up early today and got in a solid 30 minutes meditation before work. Wheeee. 5 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment
Cataleya
I know the feeling with regard to comparing myself to others and feeling like I'm lacking. Unfortunately I don't have any real advice other than focusing on your strengths. You are also awesome! 1 Quote Cataleya Tries to Regain Her Balance Instagram | MyFitnessPal Link to comment
fleaball
Bleh. It's such a bummer when you're fighting with yourself. Building your confidence is an ongoing process though. You'll get where you need to be. It's shitty, but like Cataleya said, you're awesome.

So no need to work out how to tactfully leave. I may've slightly exaggerated how much better it feels...=P And now, because it's been a lame day for various reasons, a cute gif: 2 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment

Haha fine by me, we can do the lord of the rings tour while you're here =P To be fair, he was a bit surprised that I said it was as good as I did, and he said it was still a bit stiff but there's not really a whole lot more he could do anyway - just keep massaging to loosen it up, while I keep doing exercises and focus on sitting up straight. Honestly I'm so confused about my posture now - do I sit up straight or is straight too straight? Actually the other side of my neck has started getting sore too, just in a tired kind of way. Wasn't about to tell him though, I'll let new guy deal with that since he seems so much more capable. 1 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment
fleaball
Honestly I would just other everything this guy told you, including the sitting up straight bit. He clearly has no idea what he was doing. Ok maybe I was already feeling shitty, but he didn't help. Still, never have to see him again phew. You know it makes me really appreciate that the therapist I saw for a while was nice - if she hadn't been I don't know how I would've coped since I was already in such a fragile state of mind. Yay for happy accidents Told myself I wasn't going to meditate tonight because I was in a foul mood and didn't think I could divert my thoughts sufficiently. But then I felt like such a cop-out I decided to do it anyway (yay reverse psychology) and it was really good. I only did a few minutes, but I also read the daily encouragement from my book and it helped me turn my mood around. "It all comes down to one person: you. What matters is that you become a brilliant beacon, shining with joy and happiness, and live your life with confidence and courage. If you shine with a radiant light, there can be no darkness in your life." Then I made a vegetable curry and watched a doco on heavy horses, heck yes. 5 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment
Countess D'If
Ummmmm. . . ^^^^ WINNING!!! One must never compare one's self to one's peers. Because it's destructive. You are seeing what they are allowing the world to see, not what they truly are. And they are all pretty much a shivering scared mess, just like you and just like me. I guarantee they are looking at you and feeling the same jealousy. Life is weird that way 3 Quote My Blog | To-Read | @i_ate_the_bar | fitbit Link to comment

And most of the time I don't compare myself because I know it's pointless and misleading. Guess I just had a moment of weakness. I do have a steady job though which I am glad for. And it provides good, free coffee And it is warm. And full of nice people. Naw shucks, you're making me like my job all over again. 2 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment
Owlet
i am failing at the bedtime goal. A lot. Lights out around midnight all this week, and even then I haven't been able to get to sleep easily. Last night especially, so then I slept in a lot today (another perk of my job, no one minds too much what time I turn up so long as I do my hours) Brain is super fuzzy and bleh. Also feeling a bit anxious. But mum is arriving tomorrow morning for the weekend so I am looking forward to that and hoping it will distract me enough to stop feeling anxious. Will be taking the train to stay with my brother and his wife and hopefully get some cuddles with their cat Just need to get through today and tomorrow. 2 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment
