Grayspeed
So I've been watching the Spideyfit YouTube channel lately... What's not to love about a Spider-Man cosplayer who does fitness videos? In the below video Spideyfit states there are 3 important skillsets needed to become your own superhero. Strength, flexibility, and endurance. So I'll be basing my fitness quests on these principles. The focus this time around will be on maintaining existing habits and plans, while also building new ones. Quest 1: Strength Using the Start Bodyweight routine customisation page, I've developed a push/pull split workout plan. The quest here is basically to stick with the plan throughout the challenge and report at the end how well it has worked after 5 weeks. Quest 2: Flexibility Every day I will spend at least 5 minutes working on stretching and/or mobility. Trouble areas to focus on - Hamstrings, hips, lower back. Quest 3: Endurance (modified) Go for a Ruck or long walk at least twice a week. Quest 4 (life quest): Perform at least one act of meaningful adulting every day. Bonus Quests Share the awesome - Weekly highlight reel edition! As always, I'll be posting a weekly highlight reel of all the awesome things that have happened during the past week. The point of this is basically to help me keep a positive mindset by focussing on the good things that have happened rather than the bad. Assassin's Guild Minichallenge Use this thread to keep track of my contribution to the mini. Should hopefully motivate me to keep contributing. 4 Quote Level 19 Jedi/Assassin in-training. I find that tension in my hamstrings tends to have a knock on effect on everywhere else, so I try to really work on them as much as possible. Working on hollow body holds and single leg deadlifts has also been really helpful for strengthening that area too. 1 Quote Level 19 Jedi/Assassin in-training. Grayspeed
Week 1, begin! Quest 1: Strength Pull workout done. Wind threw my chinups off a bit.. I guess it's stabilisation practice?? Quest 2: Flexibility Week 1. 1/7 days Quest 3: Endurance Got tired of MapMyRun crashing constantly so used an egg in Pokemon Go to track distance. Did around 6.5km. Might tweak this quest slightly as the challenge goes by. Quest 4 (life quest): Sad news. I didn't get the job I went to two interviews for. To be honest, I really thought I had it . Two jobs applied for today, I'm basically in desperation mode now. I just need to find something at this point. Week 1. Do you care about mapping your run or just tracking distance and time? I've not used any run apps before, but recently joined the Hogwarts Running Club. I'm just not sure if it is a us only app... 1 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment

Just distance, really. Might try using my pedometer app instead. Although I went for a "short" walk that ended up being over 2 hours today, I wasn't wearing my walking shoes and have re-invigorated my blister.. So a tweak to this quest may be in order. Quest 1: Strength Push workout done. Was a really good workout actually, dips are coming along nicely. Need to work on spider-man pushups, not sure I'm doing them quite right. Quest 2: Flexibility Week 1. 2/7 days Quest 3: Endurance So, that blister is back, I shall call him barry. He's a total prick. Quest 4 (life quest): Laundry and kitchen cleaning. Had a talk with my girlfriend and we decided that it doesn't matter what job I get, as long as I get something.. I think she's recently realised just how miserable my current employment has gotten me. We're heading into the time of year where christmas temp stuff comes up a lot, so I'm pretty hopeful I can get something soon. Bonus Quests Share the awesome - Weekly highlight reel edition! Tomorrow is an active rest day, should get plenty of activity as I'm going shopping *shudders* with the girlfriend. Grayspeed
Current mood: Funny day, I had a bit of a weird moment where I felt very faint and almost threw up.. I haven't eaten anything likely to make me sick, so I'm guessing it as a combination of lack of sleep, stressing about the whole employment thing, and the humid weather. On the bright side, I finally caught a Pikachu today! Quest 1: Strength So glad today was a rest day. A workout would not have gone well today. Quest 2: Flexibility Week 1. 4/7 days Planning to do some before bed tonight. I'm counting it, but won't get a point for tomorrow if I don't get it done. Quest 3: Endurance Officially off the rucking until Barry has completely gone. Might replace this with a jump-rope related goal as I've recently started doing it as a finisher after strength training. Quest 4 (life quest): So. Much. Job. Searching. Applied for 2 jobs. Also contacted a place that would probably be really cool to for (definitely wouldn't get me rich, though), they got back to me within 10 minutes and seemed genuinely sorry that they didn't have any vacancies. Which just makes me want to work for them more.. Saw a really fun job at a freaking castle today. Unfortunately it's a temp thing and I'll be on holiday for the main part of it, so I'm not bothering to apply. Going to keep checking though, It'd be damn cool to work at a castle. Manarelle
Working at a castle would be pretty spiff, but yeah, if the schedule isn't cooperating... boo! Keep in touch with the cool place - you never know when something might come up. Grats on the Pikachu, and here's to no more feeling faint. Maybe finagle the stretching into yoga and meditation to help calm down for bed? 1 Quote Manarelle the Level 60 Amazon Assassin Challenges: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, Current Link to comment

Grayspeed
So, been a pretty intense few days. After much decision making and crazy support/encouragement from my girlfriend I quit my job. Handed in my notice today and will have my last day next Tuesday. I honestly feel better than I have in 4 years. I thought I'd be terrified, but I feel more energised and positive than I have in a very long time. I have no idea what's next, all I know is I have financial stuff sorted out enough that I don't need to panic for at least 4 months, and I don't have to lie awake at night dreading the morning. Now I can focus completely on getting a new job, finishing my Open University course, and sorting out general life "stuff" that has been neglected for too long. Challenge wise, I got everything except one day's stretching was missed. Here's to week 2! Monday/Tuesday Quest 1: Strength Monday - Push workout Tuesday - Pull workout. Got 5x5 on my chinups finally! Quest 2: Flexibility Week 1. 2/7 days Quest 3: Endurance I need to think of an alteration for this. Barry aint going nowhere fast.. Quest 4 (life quest): Monday - Typing up notice, email sent to open university asking exactly what modules I can do for my course, applied for another job. Tuesday - Job searching. Bonus Quests Share the awesome - Weekly highlight reel edition! I'll probably combine weeks 1 and 2. Assassin's Guild Minichallenge New world has been released, I'm not really a dancer. Grayspeed
Saturday/Sunday Quest 1: Strength Saturday - Push workout Sunday - Not been eating too well the last couple of days and felt a bit off today, so just did about 25 minutes of mobility work instead. Need to clean up my diet a bit. Quest 2: Flexibility Week 2. 6/7 days Quest 3: Endurance N/A Quest 4 (life quest): Saturday - Bit of job searching, kitchen cleaning. Sunday - Food shopping, applied for another job. Bonus Quests Share the awesome - Weekly highlight reel edition! Quit my job! Got an interview for another one! Went for an explore to a local nature reserve with the girlfriend, we found out there are 3-4 Pokemon Go gyms there that rarely get attacked as they are in remote place and somewhere you have to pay (and probably drive) to get to. Had almost a week of claiming 3x defender bonus. Got kicked out yesterday morning, but we're planning a revenge mission Discovered the Iron Butterfly exercise, it's really helped me work on leg raises. Workout plan is going really well, starting to break through plateaus finally Barry the blister has begun his retreat - Once the skin hardens up again I'll be able to get back to rucking. Country parks should be much quieter now that the summer holidays are over, and I'll be able to go during weekdays as I'll soon be unemployed. Hopefully not for long . Although part of my wishlist for new jobs is that I'll have time off during the week, weekends are overrated. Also, I've had a surprising amount of support from people regarding my decision to leave my job. I was expecting it to be pretty rough, but most family/friends feel I've made the right decision and have been pretty awesome about it. Assassin's Guild Minichallenge Working on the food world, should be done by tonight. 3 Quote Level 19 Jedi/Assassin in-training.
