Toshimi
Eating over the weekend ended up being pretty crappy. Even with planning the food too many temptations to have things I shouldn't. Having a really hard time getting back on track this week. Had a great class last night at Kung Fu. I am learning more and more why they don't tend to let blue/green belts in the more advanced class. Had a hard time keeping up with a little of it (and sometimes the guys forget I'm not used to moving that fast) but we did some fun things. Our normal teacher is mostly back, his wife is still helping teach since he's teaching from the chair, but it was good to have him back. I got to choose the animal technique we played with last night which was fun. Rooster sheds feathers is one of my favorites. Was a lot of fun playing with it from different attacks (pushes, punches, kicks, grabs) Then we did some of our long forms, but not in a normal way. For some of us he had us do some training with blocking then right into the form so you don't have time to recover and just have to go straight into it. for some of the forms there was a time limit that you had to do it in, and for the red belts we got to harass them while in they were doing their forms, trying to push them off balance, distracting them. Good to know what i'm going to have to go through in the next 2 years. Looks like we might keep the bike workout stuff in the office, but we're going to create a space out in the front room for me. The office doesnt have enough room for me to do my forms without worrying about taking tiny steps Really need to get on the cleaning. at this rate, without cleaning all day this whole weekend not sure I'm quite goign to make my goal of the living room being clean. It's currently piled with camping stuff that's yet to be put away. But managed to keep up on the master bath/bedroom. One week left and still nothing on my costume. Hopefully it attaches right, but I did buy my first oblique pen holder. One of the stores I follow on Instagram is having a sale. He had a Curly Koa one that I liked the looks of better, but the Zebra wood one I got was what he suggested as a first timer. Now I need to order the Spencerian script copy and theory books I've been looking at, and find some ink. What it really comes down to is, I've spent all the money that was possibly going to be for costuming this month, but I'm totally okay with it 1 Quote Try not, do or do not- Yoda Link to comment

Kishi
It's okay to spend all the money in a budget if you like what you spent it on, yeah? So it's all good. Final week! We're pushing on through! 1 Quote Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! Link to comment

Might see if my mother in law will go fabric shopping with me when she's here, that is if I can get the day off to go down to the garment district in LA. 1 Quote Try not, do or do not- Yoda Link to comment

Kishi
Hah, what a way to end it! So, do you know yet how it went or is that something you're going to have to wait to hear back about? 1 Quote Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! In other news I forgot to mention earlier, For the next 4-6 weeks I'm going to be helping with the pewees and junior classes on Thursdays. So that means instead of 1-2 hours on Thursdays it's now going to be 3.5 hours. Still figuring out how to make sure I take and eat enough but it should be fun. 2 Quote Try not, do or do not- Yoda Link to comment
starpuck
Awesome work there! Wooohooo and congrats! I think I am hanging out with too many monks... add in my recent rebirth into ultimate Star Wars fandom, and I am starting to think stupid about picking up some kind of martial arts class. >.> I've got a bad feeling about this. For what it's worth, I think getting back into martial arts was the best thing I could've done for myself. I had done about 6 months or so of another style a few years back, but had an injury (not martial arts related) and took a break that ended up being a few years long. I'd say give a few classes/styles a try. I think I ended up looking at and/or trying classes at 5 different places, 4 different styles before I chose where I am now. Finding a teacher/place/style you like is a great thing! Quote Try not, do or do not- Yoda Link to comment

Well, that's the nice thing about living in a big city - you have your choices. I wish you the best. Quote Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE!
