Saturday morning we busted ass and made it comfortably to our 6:40 AM train. Nycnycnyc stuff. Then back on Monday for my rec team meeting. I wandered around a lot with my backpack with some extra weights in it, so I'm even snagging a ruck point. Woot, woot.

I like it so far! The new zones are pretty, the artifacts are a new level of interesting complexity, and questing just keeps getting better. HOWEVER, I think almost all of the expansions have felt wonderful at launch but what made them feel tedious or no fun was the infrequent content updates, so we'll see if they actually do a better job this time a round. There is a big focus on Diablo Greater Rift style 5-man dungeons which can get increasingly, infinitely more difficult, so perhaps there will be enough content to keep us all entertained. :)

Day 10-11

Nope, nothing towards goals. One was an evening of napping and then last night was video gaming with Hubstron. I think I've mentioned that sometimes I hit my tolerance limit of ACTIVITIES ACTIVITIES ACTIVITIES and take a couple of days to get back into the swing of things...

Lifting tonight (for real), gym tomorrow maybe to just climb (GASP), gymnastics Saturday with a ruck post-practice while I go on a quest for a lobster roll, lifting Sunday (assuming the gym's hours stay the same), and gymnastics maybe on Monday... if I feel like it. Tuesday lift if no gymnastics on Monday... Wednesday I fly out to NC! I should be able to do some rucking one of the days -- maybe a small hike, but I think most of my time will be consumed by bachlorette planning and wedding prep. I do plan on drinking a bit less than I normally would so I can function fully in a helpful way, so maybe I'll be able to sneak in some kind of physical activity as well.

whoa girl. if you can survive your butt falling off, dying, and then lifting all the things I think for sure that a little booze will not at all be an issue with your helpfulness.

Challenge Update

Thursday

Hit squats for 3 x 3 x 205# but they felt awkward and were a huge grind. OHP singles at 80#, triples at 75#. DL 215# for 3 triples again and felt pretty happy about that. Did a conditioning circuit of 5 rounds: 15 burpees, 15 glute ham raises, 2 pull-ups (1 pull-up in round 3 onward), and 20 hollow rocks. Felt like dying.

 

Friday

Hit the bouldering walls for a bit and stretched and did PT the rest of the time. Got two new V2s and partway up a V3 that played to my strengths but was unable to figure out how to actually finish it before my hands died. Sore throat. Felt kind of off.

 

Saturday

Practice but forgot my backpack for the "ruck" part of the plan. Just tumbled during practice with some pretty good front layouts and back layouts. Worked standing aerials on the line some more to potentially move to a low beam with many many mats. A couple of back handsprings on beam. No bars, oops. Got my bangs trimmed. Re-dyed my hair with henna -- it turned out darker this time because it layered on the red I already had. I like it. <3

Sunday-Monday

I spent the rest of the weekend cleaning, running errands, and playing Legion. I took Sunday and Monday as total rest days while I went full gaming gremlin mode and ate only cheesy foods (cheddar popcorn, pizza, cheez-its, cheese and crackers, turkey and cheddar sandwiches...). Not going to get a workout in tonight either because my good friend is staying with us before we fly out tomorrow morning for the wedding and associated events. I feel kind of like a slug because of the last few days and the overall low activity of last week on top of this weekend. Also throat is still wicked sore when I swallow but I don't have any other significant symptoms. 

 

I am not going to try to find a gym in NC but I will try to get in at least 2 bodyweight workouts OR runs OR something along those lines. Whoooo knows? I am excited for the wedding but really, mostly excited for all my whirlwind activities to chill out so I can just get back to the grind. :X

We're doing a bacherlotte party on Thursday -> brewery visit/tour, tapas dinner, dive bar -> combination bachelor/bachelorette house party back at the venue. Then Friday is the rehearsal and associated party. Saturday wedding! 

 

We're doing a loose fairy tale/Disney meets skanky theme for the bachelorette. I have been trying to come up with games. So far they are all completely ridiculous -- such as "shitty, shitty princess" which is Pretty, Pretty Princess with jewelry we are going to craft from beer cans. We shall SEEE WHAT IS IN STORE.

I have a theory that you must have at least 3 identical "twins" in order to preserve the illusion that you can be in so many places and do so many activities :o Maybe you have one who does most of the running and climbing, one who holds down the day job, one who's always drinking or hungover, and at least one stunt double? And a secretary managing your social media channels and baking exploits... Seriously though, I think everyone could learn a lot about time management from you!

Hahah, that is very nice of you to say, especially as I am coming in to report back that I just could not make the time for the workouts I really wanted to get in while I was out and about in the Asheville area.

 

Wednesday: Some swimming

Thursday: Some swimming, lots of walking

Friday: Hike along a trail near the venue with rocks (+1 ruck, even it if didn't hit the full 3 miles I am aiming for on these)

Saturday: 0 time to do anything

Sunday: nope

Monday: transition day back into real life

 

I did not have more than 5 minutes to myself for the whole thing. We had so many errands to run, things to set-up, games to run, parties to plan, parties to participate in, a wedding to get ready for and attend! We didn't even get Sunday to ourselves as my friend's MIL had planned and hosted a Sunday brunch.

 

Boulder: 2/5

Ruck: 2/4

PT: 5/12

Meal plans: 1/8

Bonus: 2/5

 

WHICH doesn't really put me in a great position for the rest of the challenge, hmmm? 

 

Plan: Lift + boulder tonight, NP tomorrow with bricks, gymnastics Thursday, lift on Friday, gymnastics on Saturday + ruck, try to get in and boulder on Sunday. PT ERRYDAY.  In theory, that could get me to 4/5 bouldering, 4/4 rucking, 11/12 PT. I would feel really good about the week if I can pull that off. My meal plan goal was a laughable concept with all the traveling going on. I should have thought about that one a little harder, haha.
