BALANCE THE RANGERNESS!

The Demonic Ferret has stepped to the sidelines, it's time to gather strength....

 

The challenge is successfully including productivity into the mix.

To keep being social and work out, AND be productive.

 

Challenge Items:

Demonic beings killed will show progress.

1. Timely

  • SLEEP TIMES - Score (YES/NO) 
  • NUTRITION - Score (YES/NO)
    • Use planned meals OR track calories for eating okayed food

 

2. Productive

  • ME VS MONKEY - Score (YES/NO) for productivity without time-waste 
    • At my best
    • Lay bricks: CREATE VALUE !
    • ASAP
    • Bricks built will show progress. -- Linking this to the Monkey Tamers United group challenge. 

 

3. Clear

  • VISUALIZE - once (Mon) 
    • Short term goals, long term goals
  • REMEMBER - daily (Mon to Fri)
    • Purpose, Death, How
  • MEDITATE - daily (Mon to Fri)
    • Love, Gratitude, Energy

 

4. Energized

  • LIFT -   4 days/week (Some activities may overlap. Never train on Sunday)
  • DANCE - 1-2 days/week (For mobility and coordination)
  • SPRINT - 1-2 days/week (May replace with Muay Thai or Cardio Class if needed) 
  • PLAYGROUND HOP - Bonus (At some point I will need this for testing OCR skills)

RULES for earning stuff, earnings effective immediately:

  • Every green day (90+ score): means I can listen to another segment of "The Name of The Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss, may accumulate for later
  • Every green week (90+ score): means I can watch a movie from my list
  • First Demonic Soldier kill: oily foot massage 
  • First Demonic Captain kill: oily hand, wrist and elbow massage 
  • Demonic Ferret kill: fullbody massage + heated spa pad on shoulders + relaxation ritual
  • Boss kill: fullbody massage + heated spa pad on shoulders + relaxation ritual
  • Demonic Soldier, Captain, Ferret, and Boss kills: have an awesome visit to a saved Location of my choice from Foursquare, or arrange an outing with friends

WEEK 1 - REVIEW
 
Scores:
[ 86 ] = "B" Week
  [ 71 ] = Schedule & Nutrition
  [ 71 ] = Race VS Waste
  [ 100 ] = Meditate & Visualize
  [ 100 ] = Workout

 

Observations:

  • Hadn't made a meal plan on time to use it, now I have outlined the basics to keep in mind and a plan
  • Stayed up late twice, noticed I forgot to block Netflix for sleep time 
  • Great improvement in productivity, need more discipline to keep it steady
  • Reminders without a pop-up are the least inspiring for checking what they're about

 

TO DO:

  • Make sure the cellphone block rules are enabled
  • Go back to going on morning jogs with (and without) friends to make it easier to get up early
  • Enable the early gradual alarm again for this, I'll thank it later
  • Create a PC rule to auto open my brick tracker on Windows start
  • Add pop-ups to all reminders

I've got to echo what Dagger said... a "B" week far surpasses any "F" week I've ever seen!  Progress, any progress whatsoever, sets us further apart from our old lives and that's a victory unto itself.  :)

Observations:

  • Nutrition was easy enough to take care of, only time I had light cravings for junk food was on Friday, and had a single quesadilla after working out that day. The hard part was taking the time to finish eating aaaaall those veggies at lunch.
  • Slept too late once because I needed to finish urgent work.
  • It was after that night that I felt mentally tired and stopped being productive enough.
  • It was also on that day when I forgot to meditate.

 

TO DO:

  • Eat veggies split between all my 4 meals.
  • This week I've commited to morning jogs with (and without) friends at 6:15 and 8:00 respectively. 
    Schedule didn't need much adjustment, only for an earlier sleep time.
  • Do as much work as possible when it's still early and on time.
  • Create a GChrome rule to auto open my brick tracker on Browser start (simpler than a PC rule)
  • Write something I can read or refer to for remembering Death

Another solid week. :)

 

And lack of sleep messes up so much. It isn't just feeling tired as you noted above. It throws everything slightly off for a while.

Observations:

  • Lost way too much time hanging out and eating.
  • Only felt strong enough for an early start on Monday, for the rest of the week naps were needed.
  • Still doing things on the last minute. Haven't been doing my best with the brick laying.

 

TO DO:
Bringing most back from last challenge's conclusion

  • Do as much work as possible when it's still early and on time.
  • If I haven't finished morning's work, only socialize during breakfast and snack time, for extra time a.k.a. cheating keep it to 5 min
  • If I haven't done any morning's work, stay in the room until something's done.
  • If I've finished having lunch and they haven't or are still having fun, go work and keep the door open for the good times
  • If socializing at night, (make sleep prep reminder different) and make sure to go sleep early.
  • Determine priorities outside of work, add a couple spots for work related priorities, remove everything else, AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT EACH ONE
  • Write thy priority list on the window
  • Remember / Do something to make brick laying a bit more daring/competitive at least vs myself
  • Make sure to tackle earning more, and reducing expenses: Determine allowed expenses and amount

SUCCESSFUL AREAS
Best area was Working out, then Schedule & Nutrition, BUT sleep time and wake time had a few issues.
 
PROBLEM AREAS
Productivity mostly. Clarity needs some work  (meditation and awareness).
Weekends were mostly chill, and I realize pending work was mostly done on Sundays = at the last minute.
 
TO DO:

Same old; I figured to use and remind myself of these since last week

  • Value: For keeping this awesome lifestyle and becoming a master, follow the essence of the master I seek

 

HOW AM I DOING IT:

 

Simplification: Specificity

  • Delimit and reduce the challenge as much as possible, keeping the bare essentials and any weak points to work on
  • Integrate the challenge into the daily routine
  • Use specific tasks to get done per challenge area

Adaptation: Priorities and Optimization

  • How much I work out each week will depend on my program's cycle; must not overreach and attend all classes simply because I can, remember strength building highly depends on rest

I'll take the time to update my Epic Quest laters, not sure when, but the news are this challenge finally got me to pass the test for joining The Order :D

Sounds like a solid challenge. A solid B is not bad. Sure could be better, but isn't that so often the case. Slow and steady wins the race!

 

PS. I know I'm late, but I was off in the wilds of Georgia.
