ALMOST NEW CHALLENGE TIME!  This last challenge hit some setbacks in the form of a giant adorable old man kitteh sized hole in my heart (lost one of my dear furbabies.)

 

This challenge I am focusing on how to keep up with all of my various exercise shenanigans WITHOUT totally overbooking myself/ with actually leaving some time for downtime and for socializing...not that I don't get social time when I AM working on a dance show etc., but it is only with dance-fam people and I neglect every other relationship in my life. These past few months I've actually been hanging out with my good friends who aren't just dance people and it has been AWESOMEEEEEEE. And I'm like OH YEAH I HAVE OTHER FRIENDS YOU GUYS! Also, I am seeing someone and I have good feelings about how things are going, so yeah leaving time for that is important!

 

Important note: I am too lazy to pick just ONE theme so expect the theme to be silly shit I find on the internet that suits my mood at a given moment. Buaahahhaha.

 

I am still playing around with specific goals so expect this list to change a bit but:

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE

Maintain exercise plan for maximum happiness but NOT into oh hey where did my life go? territory. Parameters: work out at least 3 x per week, including at least one lifting day, aerial day (trying to get this back in my life!) and dance day.

 

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS

Have AT LEAST one evening off during weeknights in order to hang out with friends OR cook stuff/ downtime whatever I need. and at least one day a weekend with at least a 6 hours IN A ROW chunk of downtime/friendtime.

 

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING

If you looked at all at my last challenge you know I have a big list of stuff to get done and regular adulting type shit to maintain! Dedicate at least 2 hours per week to adulting pursuits! (Does not need to be in a row.)

 

 

GOAL 4: HEALTH

This could be included under adulting but I have a few specific things I keep neglecting to get around to. In the duration of this challenge take blood pressure once per week, AND actually go do your damn bloodwork (yes I really didn't get to this last time. Oops.), AND schedule dentist appointment for cleaning before the end of summer sessions/ when work will get crazier. AND bonus points for me if I do an eye appointment as well (less crucial and I don't have particularly bad eyesight but I try to do this every few years AND I like to have some prescription shades around for if I am driving a lot. I can do fine with non-script but I have good insurance sooo let's do this?!)

 

Life Goal- BALANCE!

This is the overarching goal I am trying to achieve in all the things above, but my specific mantra this round shall be to do my damndest to maintain balance. I shall strive to be self aware of if the above plan is NOT working and make alterations if necessary.

I forgot to mention I am on vacation the first few days of this challenge! I am

dorking about in Monterey and San Francisco and Santa Cruz and I shall be back home and ready for shenanigans and challenge stuff tomorrow night!

 

Side note-- I MISS THE KITTIESSSS WAAAAH. No kitty snuggles on vacation! :(

I have returned!!! The kitties are being SUUUPER needy but by some miracle they did let me sleep!

 

Meeting my goals this week may be a little wonky because vacation but I am going to try! I probably won't fit in an aerial day, but I WILL get 3 workouts in at least so, yay compromises?

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 0 out of 3 per week (goal - 1 dance, 1 aerial, 1 lifting)

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS -  1 out of 1 weeknight offnights;  0 out of 1 weekend downtimes

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING - 0 out of 2 hours per week adulting

 

GOAL 4: HEALTH- 

0 out of 1 take blood pressure

0 out of 2 appointments to schedule

0 out of 1 bloodwork to get done

 

Life Goal- BALANCE!

Feeling balanced (Y/N)? --  Yep! I have a lot going on this week but I knew I would in advance. (And it's nothing too cray as compared to when I am doing a massive college production or something.)  Definitely going to NEED that downtime on Sunday though. And maybe also on Saturday during the day before show time!

Week 1, Day 6 report!

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 2 out of 3 per week (goal - 1 dance, 1 aerial, 1 lifting)

Feeling balanced (Y/N)? --  Yes, but shifting towards no. I am veering into NEED BREAK NOW NOW NOW territory for sure. I have lots of R&R planned for this weekend, so all should be well. This is about how I expect to feel on the week of a show when I just got back from a not very resty vacation... but still don't like it.

Hello! I was just on vacation last week and got home last night and we board our cat because she doesn't like all the people and I missed her so badly. Picking her up this morning, can't wait for kitty snuggles.

Lets see...Week 1 wrap up!

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 3 out of 3 per week (goal - 1 dance, 1 aerial, 1 lifting) SUCCESS!!

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS -  1 out of 1 weeknight offnights;  2 out of 1 weekend downtimes  SUCCESS!!

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING - 1.5?? 2?? out of 2 hours per week adulting   - I am going to call this a SUCCESS. I got a number of things done in spite of tech week and show and vacation!

 

GOAL 4: HEALTH-  

1 out of 1 take blood pressure per week   SUCCESS!  I got the weekly thing did! Numbers are still good!

0 out of 2 appointments to schedule

0 out of 1 bloodwork to get done

 

Life Goal- BALANCE!

Feeling balanced (Y/N)? --  Yes!!!  Friday was...close to no- I WAS SO CRANKY. But I relaxed like a champ all day Saturday (3 hours or so of d and d woohoo), and I had a nice lazy day on Sunday as well and I feel very level headed now.  SUCCESS!!

AAAAAAAH!  I WAS SO EXCITED I MAY HAVE DANCED AROUND MY LIVING ROOM AND CRIED A LITTLE WITH SHEER YAAAAAS! First woman to ever complete any stage of the American Ninja Warrior finals course in Vegas. And did so beating badasses like Flip Rodriguez in speed no less. OMG OMG OMG. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Week 2, So Far!!! (Day...4?)

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 2 out of 3 per week (goal - 1 dance, 1 aerial, 1 lifting)

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS -  2 out of 1 weeknight offnights;  0 out of 1 weekend downtimes - WINNING SO FAR. And this weekend should be chill!

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING - 1 out of 2 hours per week adulting -  I did laundry ya'll. So exciting!

 

GOAL 4: HEALTH- 

0 out of 1 take blood pressure

0 out of 2 appointments to schedule

0 out of 1 bloodwork to get done

 

Life Goal- BALANCE!

Feeling balanced (Y/N)? --  Yes. Good so far this week! I had lifting Sunday and aerial on Monday, and then I also lazed about a bunch of Monday night AND I have this evening free, sooo winning on the not overwhelmed front so far!

Week 2, Wrap Up!

 

Oh sorry! I disappeared because long weekend and doing all the relaxing and things! In fact I relaxed and had fun so much that by Monday I felt super lazy and like I needed to get some stuff done so had a 3 hour + frenzy of cleaning and cooking (before winding down with some D&D with some of my favorite people!)

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 3 out of 3 per week (goal - 1 dance, 1 aerial, 1 lifting) DANCE WAS AMAZING YOU GUYSSS AAAAH DANCING HAPPY

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS -  2 out of 1 weeknight offnights;  3? 4? out of 1 weekend downtimes - Oh yeaaaah. Totally won at downtime this week!

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING - 4 out of 2 hours per week adulting -  I did lots of stuff throughout the weekend. well over the 2 hour minimum. Yay long weekend! I did lots of meal prep! And lots of decluttering!

 

GOAL 4: HEALTH-   .....I did not do any of this this week. Faiiiiil.

0 out of 1 take blood pressure

0 out of 2 appointments to schedule

0 out of 1 bloodwork to get done

Oh hey look I didn't do weekly posts again WOOPS!

 

Week 3, Wrap Up!

 

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 3 out of 3 per week (goal - 1 dance, 1 aerial, 1 lifting) I lifted but I did not dance or aerial. I fit in lots o' walking AND I did a TON of burpees to finish off the week (Oh joy, burpees!!)

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS -  2? 3? out of 1 weeknight offnights;  2 out of 1 weekend downtimes - Won at downtime again! This coming week is going to be trickier though.....

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING - 2 out of 2 hours per week adulting -  Did a fair amount of adulting but did not overachieve or anything. I FINALLY bought and put up a full length mirror! It only took 20 years....

 

GOAL 4: HEALTH-   Nooope. Oops. But! I started out week 4 with an appt in which they took my blood pressure sooo I will not fail week 4...except the bloodwork thing maybe. Woops. And did NOT schedule at least dental appt before the end of summer...oops!

0 out of 1 bloodwork to get done

Feeling balanced (Y/N)? --  YES. I did feel balanced last week (which I feel stressed and NOPE for this current week, week 4 so I have to remember this is looking backwards which waaas a YES. Lolol.)

I'm tryinggggg. 

 

I think I am more stressed this week because I know dance shows can get me crazy busy. But I also have to remember that it doesn't just magically happen..the last show I said yes to every single opportunity for additional pieces that were being rehearsed outside of normal hours. I did this to myself! So it will be OK! As long as I keep my workaholic nature in check.
