Saorsa
This is my first 4 week challenge, so I'm going to keep it simple for my sanity. I'm a rebel that will probably fit in the Rangers...not sure yet. Saorsa thought university was hard, now this? Her degree didn't prepare her for the end of the world. Graduation day ended with monster attacks and Saorsa learning how to escape a city without dying. The world as she knew it was gone. Everything was different now. Sure, she could cry about it all day, but she had to survive. Already, she was surprised with what she could do - navigating the wilderness or wrecked cities, learning new weapons quickly, and sustaining on very little - all skills she didn't know she had. Ironic, the apocalypse taught her something. Is that what they call a silver lining? Now, she stood on the edge of a lake wondering what the next year would bring. Her journey brought her all the way from Florida to Canada, in hopes the cold winters would deter the monsters. Well, the ice and snow revealed a different branch of the mysterious creatures invading Earth. Were they invading? Or were these things created by us? Saorsa didn't have time to care; autumn was coming and she had to prepare for another tough winter. This time she would be stronger. WEEK ONE DIET: Energy for Survival: Eat breakfast every morning */7 Stay Hydrated: 3 glasses (500ml) of water everyday */7 Reduce Resource Consumption: 7 days of no bread or pasta */7 (test run to see how I feel with no bread or pasta) <<< Not excited about this one! FITNESS: Strength to Fight: 3 days of Strength Circuit Speed and Endurance: 1 day of Interval Cardio LIFE: Downtime: I hour a day of me time (no working allowed) */7 Ready for Survival: Wake up before 8am */7 I'll add the next two weeks after this test run! 3 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. Vibrantella
Good luck with your challenge! :) Why are you trying to avoid bread & pasta? Is it carbs, or gluten, or something else? For example, you could replace pasta with rice, or shirataki noodles, or cauliflower couscous, or shredded cabbage, depending on your ultimate goal. 1 Quote Level 16 Warrior Druidess Walk FROM Mordor Challenges: Current (#17) Previous (#1-16) Keto: https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto Fasting: https://idmprogram.com/tag/fasting/ Link to comment

Mostly carbs or because they tend to come with fat too. I'm trying to reduce my carb intake as I keep going over my daily allowance. I'm trying to eat healthier carbs or figure out a way to have a realistic meal plan. It's just for this week though. I tend to not feel full for long after pasta meals, plus I do eat way too much bread. I'm trying to see if I actually crave the pasta and breads or can I substitute them with something better. I am trying rice with my chicken. 1 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. The brave men rode them." - GoT Link to comment
Erza Scarlet
Cool theme challenge! I love Post-Apocalypse shows/games. Though I hope this doesn't happen at the end of my graduation. Good luck with your challenge. By the way, wouldn't it be useful to learn martial arts and/or some weapon to fight off monsters and the inevitability of humans turning bad in an anarchical society? Though maybe I'm taking this too seriously. Quote About me Challenges: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 Current: #6 Link to comment

Though maybe I'm taking this too seriously. It's funny because I write fantasy, but I'm quicker to imagine myself in an apocalypse. I feel like I'd do alright if the world ended. Thanks! I used to study different martial arts, but life (school and work) got in the way. I'm really hoping to bring it back! I used to belly dance, too, which is awesome for muscle control. I made trying archery a long term goal. I'll probably look up a martial arts school in the area once I have a better income again. Ninja skills! 2 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. The brave men rode them." - GoT Link to comment
Erza Scarlet
I know who to go to then if the world ends [emoji14] Yeah you should definitely get back into martial arts, it's perfect for your theme. Archery would be handy for long range monster killing though of course. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk Quote About me Challenges: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 Current: #6 Link to comment
NY153
I really liked your intro! How is your challenge going? Quote For what it’s worth: It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. Saorsa
@NY153 Thank you! I've been hitting all my goals for this week, but I'm trying to be positive and not too hard on myself. The good news is I lost a couple of lbs - after several months of plateau. Probably because of Pokemon Go walks. How's yours going? 2 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. The brave men rode them." - GoT Link to comment
Saorsa
A little behind in updating; I had to attend a wedding this past weekend and that turned into an...adventure? Situation? Stress? I had to focus on the event and volunteer work, but I did learn quite a bit from my first week and I'm going to lay out the next week now that I have a better understanding of my fails and wins. Saorsa found herself at a farm where other survivors had settled in for the long haul. They worked together to stay alive. She wasn't surprised to find people, but she was surprised to find that two people wanted to get married. That's right, a wedding in the apocalypse. Everyone said, "Well, frack it. Let's do it." They gathered food, found drinks, and the lady stood in the only white dress they could find (from an attic) and the pair stood on the ruins of a church. A man who spent his life practicing zen Buddhism and new age philosophy was the closest thing to a priest that was around, so he pronounced them husband and wife as the sunset over the creek. Saorsa had feelings, but just for a moment. Their joyous occasion was interrupted by monsters; they burst through the make-shit buffet table. Luckily, the beasts were slain. Saorsa was thankful for her increased strength. After the wedding crashers were disposed of, the crew shared some strawberry wine that someone made. It tasted awful, but no one cared. WEEK ONE DIET: Energy for Survival: Eat breakfast every morning 5/7 Stay Hydrated: 3 glasses (500ml) of water everyday 3/7 (need to split this into tiny counts because most days I got half way at least) Reduce Resource Consumption: 7 days of no bread or pasta 1/7 Uh, super fail. Hahaha As I suspected, I eat a lot of breads and pastas. FITNESS: Strength to Fight: 3 days of Strength Circuit *Done! I did it! Speed and Endurance: 1 day of Interval Cardio *Done! But need to take it up a notch. LIFE: Downtime: I hour a day of me time (no working allowed) 7/7 But it's not helping. My mind is still stressed. Ready for Survival: Wake up before 8am 3/7 I sleep through alarms. It's a superpower. WEEK TWO (current) DIET: Energy for Survival: Eat breakfast */7 (3 so far) Stay Hydrated: 500ml of H20 x3 per day */7 (argh!) Vegetable with dinner each night */7 FITNESS: Strength to Fight: 3 days of Strength Circuit (Again!) xxx Speed and Endurance: 1 day of Interval Cardio and 1 day of "Pokemon Go" Walk xx LIFE: Mind-power: 20 minutes meditation 3 times a week xxx Ready for Survival: Wake up before 8 am everyday */7 2 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. Congrats on your first week! How is the second progressing? Thank you! I do hope to be a professional writer one day. I have a few ideas I'm churning out! It's going well for exercise and drinking water. The eating is still a hard part. I'm researching diets for PCOS so I can really get this under control. 1 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. The brave men rode them." - GoT Link to comment

I ended up being called in to volunteer work a lot because someone quit the Studio (the place I want to work eventually). So I was totally sidetracked into that. It's an exhausting job and I'd come home and hit the couch! I'm trying not to feel guilty. Instead, I'll see it as a highlighter to the changes I need to make. I have to make a plan that works with my life. Changing a lifestyle is hard! BUT I did drink more water and actually worked out! Those goals I hit! 2 Quote Character | Twitter | IG "The brave men did not kill dragons. The brave men rode them." - GoT Link to comment
