Chicken and couscous meatballs with dill and garlic yoghurt on wilted spinach :)

They have three ingredients: 500g chic mince, 1/2 cup dry couscous, cooked and a tube of Moroccan seasoning, delicious!

Amen on the planks front!

Thank you so much Yasha! They certainly do look and sound delicious and have magically made it onto my lunch list for next week ;-)

I really think I'd rather do 30 burpees over 30 seconds of planking any day but I force myself to plank just the same. I just keep telling myself that one day it'll get easier.

I should have mentioned that the amounts above make 8 decent sized patties (like the ones pictured), of which I would eat two in a sitting. Or one as a snack if I'm super hangry ;p

Happy to be of service to the bulking :P

I'm thinking of making one of those pictures-made-of-lots-of-pictures from all my assortment of food pics maybe in a zero week somewhere along the line...

ROAR in the morning. Still sore today, looking forward to a rest day soon

Adulting: nil.

Forums: reading along and a little commenting on others threads...

Journaling: woke up early to go to gym, lift friend was running late so Mr and I jogged half way there before she picked us up, a tough session then on to work. I spent a bit of time on counter today, helping students and it really reminded me of why I enjoy my job- I like helping people solve their problems. It was super hot in the afternoon so Mr and I went for icecream then went and saw the magnificent 7. It was ok but not really my cup of tea (lots of guns and explosions which was fine but way too many horses and innocent people were killed in it for my liking).

ROAR and more: Outdoor session boxing today. I haven't boxed in ages but I was able to mostly keep up, counting is hard for me though when I'm punching... We did 300 jump-squats scattered throughout the workout and I can already feel the bum-DOMS. Hooo boy lucky tomorrow is a rest day (unless we end up climbing the mountain... we'll see).

Adulting: Teeth, dishwasher, vitamins (I finished the bottle of the multi vitamin, I've never finished a bottle before! plus, when I went to replace it it was on special for less than half price, woot woot!), also put in a load of laundry which I hope to hang tomorrow, or put in the dryer if the weather is nasty.

Forums: Not heaps during the day, but I expect to do a bit before I fall to sleep.

Journaling: Not much to report today, woke up early (but not as early as a week day) and went to the outdoors boxing session, the weather was pretty good for it, a little overcast with a chilly breeze but generally warm - I was in a Tshirt and shorts and was glad that I didn't wear full-length pants (except for the grass itchiness). Came home and had a smoothie and some left over nachos then took a pretty long nap. Sometimes I feel guilty when I have a nap instead of being 'productive', but I feel like today I really needed the rest. Got up and made dinner and did a little (tiny) bit of cleaning. That will be my main to-do tomorrow as I don't have Monday off pre-game this week. I think I wil also need to go food shopping so we have noms for the week.

ROAR and more:  Climbed the mountain today! On the info sign it said '45mins 1way, fit walkers only'. I was a little apprehensive, but we smashed it out in 30mins! Super pleased and made a little video of the climb and the view~

https://vimeo.com/186143347

There's one section where it's so steep you have to go up these metal ladder things (the end of my vid is me going down one) and it really tests my fear of heights, usually even standing on a chair is too high for me and I start shaking and need to grip onto something, but I made it up and down without making an ass of myself. It helped that it wasn't windy today :)

Adulting:  teeth, laundry.

Forums: it seemed very quiet on the forums today, but I was about a bit.

Journaling: Climbed a mountain, did a couple chores, super tired.

Massive effort to get out of bed this morning, fighting it every step of the way, only thing keeping me going was 'dedication not motivation' and the fact that I haven't missed a class yet and I suspect there will be a prize if you go to them all. then my lift didn't show (I texted them when they would normally give me the 5min warning to see if they were coming but no response) so at the time I normally get picked up I started running down because I knew they weren't coming. Made it to the gym one round into the warm up, already warm from the run down. Feel better for going, hopefully will still make it to work on time. (Updating as I crawl up the hill home)

Ran down to the gym so missed a little of the warm up. Made it to 15 in the first 12min roar and almost finished 15 in the second round. Walked back home as my lift never arrived.

Adulting:  teeth, laundry (and folding, whuuuut??!), dishwasher.

Forums: it seemed very quiet on the forums today, but I was about a bit.

Journaling: dragged myself out of bed to go to the gym and had a good workout. Worked my first Monday in ages and it went ok- I wasn't rostered onto a task, but instead was prepping the training package for the new intake of casuals who start on Wednesday. Came home straight away to get ready for DnD at ours, I'd made some efforts at the house over the weekend and Mr helped before peeps arrived so I was ok with the state of the house. Good game, laid the little ghost children to rest and mazed our way to where we think the undead parents are having some sort of creepy ritual. Hopefully we get to putting them to rest next week. Had an enemy drink at the start of the night and am thinking I either need to have it at lunch time or a much smaller can. Had a chamomile tea to try and combat it as the game drew to a close. Rest day tomorrow, for which I am grateful seeing as today was the 7th exercise day in a row. My leg during 'crossover' time at the gym was shaking like mad (I call it the speed wobbles, like a mad case of restless leg) but it didn't hurt so I walked it off.

That is a beautiful smoke ring on the brisket. And the Texan in me approves of the sauce being on the side.

Twas so yummy! I had a little bit left so I brought it home. Even though the sauce was on the side it was still very flavoured! Flavoured with delicious!

An assortment of BBQ in Minnesota. Hmmm, did you go to Dickies? I love them.

I'm in Australia ^_^ it was a brewery's attached restaurant called 2smoking barrels I think, I've had something from their food stall once before but the full plate was deliciouser!

Adulting:  teeth, vitamins, hand dishes and dishwasher, set a load of laundry in the machine.

Forums: yep

Journaling: gym then in to work early to train the newbies. Stressful start as IT hadn't delivered the laptop I'd ordered to do the training and the projector didn't have the correct cable, but I was able to do a bit of running around myself and a bit of delegating someone else to run around and we got it sorted. Pretty much have no voice after talking for eight hours straight and am exhausted.

Biggest deal for me today- we re did the how many burpees in5mins challenge and I smashed my old record by 20burpees! I'm still not doing 'real' burpees to protect my back, but still a big improvement.

Adulting:  teeth, finally staple gunned the bed slats back to their stablisers.

Forums: only watching, no commenting, like a total creeper

Journaling: gym then in to work, hand over from the TL since he's going away for a month and I'll be seconded in that role, found out I got an interview for the fees role on Thursday and my old managers job got advertised today, so it's all happening on the job applications front. Picked up some cat food and walked it home- pet place is up the street from our old house and our new house is in the middle of town. There's no way I ever would have walked into town when we lived at the old house, just goes to show how much fitter I actually am, plus how much of a 'who cares, get er done' type of mindset now, I still have crappy days and all, but in general doing much better. Mr was in a really low state when I got home and we did grouch at each other (it's not easy having a mental illness, but neither is it easy to be the carer of someone with a mental illness and have to put your feelings aside all the time), but we made up. Didn't end up going to get makeup or stockings to present a super professional image for my first day as team leader, so I'll have to decide how I'm going to clearly show the difference when acting in that role (that will make it easier to hand it back over later if I go back to business casual instead of business attire when he gets back). I'm determined to do a good job of it for the time I have in the role.

Yesterday (Friday) I was so beat after work that I got into bed at 7pm and went to sleep, slept through to 8am this morning. I'm thinking I may have to assess my food to see if I'm getting enough of the good stuff as I seem to be tired often...

5 and 2 Pal: Freggies: Apple, berry smoothie, 2xcarrots, spinach, chicken patties (imagine yesterday's picture here except without the tomato) 6/5 Water 2.5/2

ROAR and more:

Hooo boy it was a doosey- gas guzzlers are (x) mountain climbers seperated by a burpee for (x) reps, with each leg counting for a half ie mountain climber both legs is one. I started out with a strength bag that was 15kg when I usually use a 10kg. I got through one round of 15 and was on 8 of my second round when I simply couldn't lift it above my head any more and subbed it out for the 10 again. Just managed to finish 'round 6' in the 25mins and was on my first burpee of round seven.

Adulting: I did wash my face to get of the makeup, I don't think I did anything else... maybe I brushed my teeth?

Forums: I didn't look at all throughout the day, but caught up a bit in bed before I fell asleep.
Journaling: gym then into work. I set out my clothes and lunch before the gym so when I got back I just showered and put on a banging single piece dress-suity-looking thing (that I got from the op-shop for $8, win!). I hardly ever wear makeup but I mixed some BBcream (like baby foundation) with the moisturiser and put on mascara and tinted chapstick. I definitely presented as someone who has got their shit together and that was a boost to the confidence. It's tricky moving to be a position of authority to team members that you work closely with long term, even more tricky that it's a non-permanent position. I feel like I made it clear what I was an was not going to accept right from the start when one of the team said "hey, no Adam, we can do what we want, go crazy!" and I stepped in with a "hey now." I didn't need to go any further than that and everyone behaved themselves more or less. It was pretty much exactly how it is when Adam is just out on a meeting or whatever, except I actually felt like I was able to speak with authority rather than just 'hey, do you think maybe you could do...' it was 'I've given you x to do, please tell me when it's done'. I'm pretty sure I was assertive enough without being bossy or too annoying. As Team Leader I was also expected to go to a farewell for the director which I probably wouldn't have gone to otherwise. Champagne and nibbles were provided. I had a glass of lemonade and left pretty much once the speeches were over. I had work to do. Interesting to see what the things that the team gets left alone for, can't say I'm thrilled about it, but we'll see. Spoke to the previous Fees Officer whose role I'm interviewing for on Thursday and she gave me a few interview tips and said she really wants me to get it, so that was nice. Headed back to the office to approve everyone's timesheets so they would get paid, organised a few bits and pieces ready for training on Monday then finished more or less on time (I'm a chronic for staying back at work, but I'm trying to crack down on it a little). Did a tiny walk in the botanic garden (like 5-10mins) to drop off some compost then home. Mr was out at a friends when I got home so I pretty much went straight to bed. All in all it was a fine day, glad that the first day backed onto a weekend though so I have time to organise myself before a full week of it.

Rest day. My knees seem to be super grindy today, not DOMS, more in the bones and if I put my ear on my knee and rock back and forth a bit I can hear it creaking O_o I'm already taking fish oil, so I don't know what's up with that...

Adulting: brushed teeth, vitamins, stacked dishwasher and ran a load of laundry (not folded)

Forums: reading, a little commenting, I also went and read a bunch of NF articles as well as watching a bunch of form and meal prep videos.

Journaling: a nice sleep in then a lazy day and I was really feeling the changes in my body today, I haven't felt "yeah I look good!" in a long long time, instead thinking "yep, I'm presentable and appropriately dressed for x occasion", today I felt banging and I was only in denim shorts and a plain black tshirt. Yay for feeling good and yay for looking good! Still not at a before-and-during photo sharing stage yet, but I feel I will be by the end of the 12 weeks, all going according to plan. Found out we only had $18 in the bank (oops) and payday is Thursday next week, so converted some store points into dollars and made a big batch of fried rice and bought some bananas, we should be fine and if not there is savings to dip into.

That happens with my knees also. Every time I go up the steps I can feel and hear my knees creak/crunch. It isn't painful, just really weird sounding and feeling.
