wildross
No gym today. Too far with too much traffic and too early of a meeting schedule. Finished up the company confab, visited with my management chain and headed to the airport. Now in Columbus, Ohio til Monday. Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons. wildross
Eyes, closed, mouth open.... We looked like we were running away from Hurricane Matthew, but this trip has been planned since about June. Some RV friends sheltered at our house, for what was pretty much a non event in Orlando. Anyway, 2 new gyms this week. Wednesday I lifted near Stone Mountain, GA where I had a internal conference from Tuesday til Thursday. Christartist was with me. The conference was at the Marriott Evergreen Resort Center inside the park. Very nice. I lifted Wednesday at an Anytime about 20 minutes away w/o traffic. Or 45 with traffic. Almost missed my early morning meeting, so only did that once. Then onto Columbus, OH where I spoke at the LInux Fest. I had gotten a Residence Inn near where I had lifted before...but it was closed. Friday morning I set out for another gym...got lost twice due to confusing construction signs. Still had good sessions on Thursday and Friday. I was in one of my labs on Friday and my lower back really tightened up. Just getting it stretched out now (Sunday) morning. Totals for Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 18,665, 24,880, 36,550# Me and the youngest Wildman grandson (#5 of our 6 grandkids), Wyatt who is a year old. https://www.instagram.com/p/BLVqeq3BaMA 2 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. wildross
As I said, it was showing up is winning type of situation. 1 squat, 2 benches and 1 Deadlift were good. Was red lighted for not having my fingers on the bar on the squat, then missed my next attempt. Almost pr'd the 3rd Bench, but was concentrating on my grip too much. I got the 2nd attempt on the deadlift up but had 2 reds on that one. It was either the lockout or the finger again. At that point, I said the heck with it (cause I wasn't getting that weight off the floor again anyway) and skipped my 3rd attemp. But I did rediscover my love for competing and the fact that I can be really good at this. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 6 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons. Grymm
I didn't know about the fingers on the bar rule, but there it is included in literally the first rule under squats in the USAPL rulebook. I squat with my palms on the bar. Some of my fingers are on the bar, but I probably do a lot of my reps with my index fingers floating. I could definitely see with a heavy weight not even thinking about it. I had snuck a peak at the results and I thought you did pretty well especially when you factor in you went in with no real prep, constant travel, AND cutting on top of it. You could easily have jumped up to podium. Well done, sir. 1 Quote Intro Challenges: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 Link to comment

I badly jammed the index finger on my right hand about 7 months ago and have trouble making a tight fist. The ref said it wasn't touching the bar. Cyndi Line has video that basically proves him wrong. So he waved me off. I hook gripped the next one, but didn't have the strength to get the squat. Then on the 3rd bench, I was messing with my grip instead of getting my feet set good. Deadlift was just meh... Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.
