CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
So after a fairly successful return with my last challenge, I am moving on and planning to add a little bit more to this challenge. Goal My goal for this challenge is to lose 12 lbs. Quests More Lifting: I am switching up to the Jonnie Candito's Linear Program with this challenge. I liked following Greyskull, but I want to move to a 4 days a week lifting scheme. Over the course of the challenge there will be 20 lifting sessions. More Veggies: I will have at least 1 vegetable and 1 fruit every day. I would like to transition over to a paleo-type diet, and the first step for me is getting used to daily servings of fruits and vegetables. Over the course of the challenge there will be 35 days where I will eat fruits and vegetables. More Sleep: I have been staying up far too late, and with increasing my lifting from 3 to 4 days per week, I will need the extra rest to maintain my recovery. To insure that I maximize my sleep, I will be turning off the tv, phone, and computer every work night at 8:30. Over the course of this challenge, there will be 25 work nights for me to insure turning everything off. More Cleaning: Everyday I need to do one chore around the house - dishes, pickup a room, vacuum - anything really, I just need to do at least one thing every day to keep the house under control for the next 35 day. Reward At the end of this challenge I would like to purchase a foam roller to aid my recovery. In order to justify my purchase I need to have at least 80% completion on my quests. That means of the 115 daily tasks between my quests, I must complete at least 92 of them. 6 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. ManicSpider
Though I'd get the foam roller anyway, it's such a good buy in terms of recovery My hip flexors are much better from using one. 1 Quote This Challenge - 2022 Restart Me on Fitocracy 2016: First Challenge | Fortress Siege #1 | Fortress Siege #2 | Fortress Siege #3 Link to comment
Volki
Good goals As for the veggies good luck! I tried being vegetarian for 30 days last challenge and it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be lol if you are just starting to eat more veggies and still want that full belly feeling then I would recommend brown rice and baked potatoes. Good luck! 1 Quote Link to comment

Phoenix91
Good luck with the challenge. I love my foam roller, it hurts in such a good way!! Try to include lentils and such too, they're good, fill you up and are easy to include in other meals. 2 Quote Link to comment
CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/19 Monday's aren't lifting days for me because I work out with my trainer and usually do various circuits. This weeks circuit involved a lot of rows and other upper body pulling exercises. We also did some abs - which are especially sore right now. In terms of more fruits and vegetables, I had salads with lunch and dinner and had some watermelon with dinner as well. I did do work around the house - I cleaned one of the bathrooms. Finally, all electronic devices were off by 8:30. I am proud of my start to this challenge and am excited to keep it going. 6 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. Maybe I should look into making it for myself. 1 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/20 Tuesday's are trivia night at a local brewery so there was no work out. Sadly, we were winning until the final question but we got it wrong and lost to our arch-rivals. We will get back to the top next week. I did have vegetables - salad with lunch and fruit - an apple for a snack in the afternoon. So success. I continued cleaning bathrooms - now both are done. I was able to turn off the screens and went to bed early, however sleep evaded me and I am really dragging this morning. Still, I met the goal for the challenge. 3 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/21 Today was my first lifting day following the Candito Linear Program. The session was the Lower Body Strength Day which called for 3 x 6 squats and 2 x 6 Deadlifts. The squats went well (a little hard, but good). However, I haven't done multiple sets of deadlifts since highschool and while I was used to going all out on one set from Stronglifts and Greyskull, I was so mentally drained from the first set that the second was not complete. I will reset down 10% just to get used to the extra work in the future. I had my fruits and vegetables - salad at lunch and an orange after dinner. I picked up the downstairs. The TV got turned off at 8:30, which unfortunately left me in the middle of an episode of Penny Dreadful. But, I am proud i turned it off, instead of continuing. 4 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/22 Today was Upper Body Strength Day for my program. I did 3 x 6 on Bench Press and Barbell Rows and 1 x 6 on Overhead Press and Lat Pulldowns. I hadn't done rows or pulldowns in a while and it was nice to work them in. My wife and I went out for Middle Eastern food and I had a number of vegetables with my dinner: chick peas (hummus and falafel), eggplant (babaganoush), and parsley (taboolah). So vegetables were on check. I got the tv turned off to give myself plenty of time to get to bed early. While lifting I did some housework during my rests by getting some laundry done. I am proud of my early week day successes, but I need to keep up the work on the weekend. 5 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/23 After lifting the past 2 days, Friday was a rest day. I had my fruits and vegetables - salad and an apple for lunch. Since, it wasn't a work night I got to stay up as late as I wanted. 11:30, wild times! Garbage taken out and front room picked up. 5 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/24 Saturday was Lower Body Control day on my lifting program. I did 6 x 4 of Paused Squats and 3 x 4 of Paused Deadlifts. I had never done paused lifts before, so I went a little bit light, about 75% of my normal weights. They felt really good and there was less soreness after lifting then before. Sadly, no vegetables. In fact, it wasn't a very good eating day at all. Back to it for Sunday. The kitchen and dishes were cleaned. Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Recap for 9/25 I got my 4 day of lifting in on Sunday. It was Upper Body Control Day, which meant Paused Bench Press, Paused Barbell Rows, Overhead Press, and Lat Pulldowns. Everything felt really good, Paused Rows were probably the most fatiguing of the lifts. Vegetables returned to the menu with a nice salad with dinner. Got everything turned off early and went to bed on time. It was nice getting so much sleep. A lot of housework was done: laundry finished and folded, lawn cut, and kitchen cleaned. 3 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. Volki
Again badass job I struggle with having to put the laundry away so that alone is a feat of will. Those paused barbell rows do look pretty tough. 2 Quote Link to comment

CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Sept. 26 Recap It was a rest day so no workout. I had a salad and apple with lunch, so I got the fruits and veggies taken care. I stayed up to watch the debate and didn't hit my bedtime goal. There was some general picking up of the upstairs and I got the luggage organized and put away. 3 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Sept. 27 Recap Another rest day, back to lifting today. I had a salad and an apple with lunch, so keeping up with the diet. Got to bed early and no late night electronics. There was no house cleaning, I got home later than usual from trivia and went straight to bed. 3 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. SpecialSundae
Hey! Great set of goals! I've got friends who've had great success with Candito. He seems to have a good way with programming. Vegetables... Have you tried doing roast veg instead of potatoes or fries to go with meals? That was one of the first victories I had with getting my husband to eat vegetables. 2 Quote Link to comment

Trivia was fun, my team was winning until the final round (thanks to my knowledge of Twin Peaks), but the final round is kind of like Final Jeopardy where you wager points before the question is asked and our lack of knowledge about Rosa Parks cost us the game. Still, it was a fun night and I got to drink delicious craft beer. 1 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. CJ the (soon-to-be) Mighty
Sept 28 Recap I was supposed to do the lower body strength routine, but I twisted my ankle or something and it was really achy, so I decided to switch to the upper body routine. I still got the lifting done and my ankle is feeling better today, so back to the lower body. There was a salad with dinner and an apple with lunch. The tv was turned off on time and I got plenty of sleep. Finally, I took care of the dishes in the kitchen. Great day (besides my 8th period class), and I went 4 for 4 on my challenges. 3 Quote "Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them.
