Phoenix91
Saurday workout: 5x5 lunge (5lb Dumbbells) 5x5 walking plank (5 lb Dumbbells) 5x15 plank 3x5 ARMS (5lb Dumbbells) + 3x5 fly & 3x5 bent rows (w. 5 lb Dumbbells for each) Tightened all the nuts and bolts on the weight bench today which honestly took longer than it did to put the thing together. Missed my Saturday trail ride wih my friends because I had to work, also have to work tomorrow too. Being busy is good for business but sucks when I have to go into work every single day. 2 Quote Link to comment

Phoenix91
Now the challenge has actually started I'll do updates every workout and if anything special happens (unlikely but there you go) and a weekly weigh in to see if i'm actually gaining weight. So no workout yesterday because of actual work but i did get to take a nice quick trail ride; my friends horse is a 4 year old baby so Phoenix went along to be the mature older calmer horse to babysit. Weighed in this morning at 97.5lbs Up half a pound from last week. 3 Quote Link to comment
Phoenix91
This doesn't seem like much but we have one of those water towers at work, normally i can't lift the full bottles up to put them on the tower because i am very short and they are heavy! Yesterday i lifted one no bother so all this exercise is definitely making a difference I ordered weight plates for my new bench! Can't wait for them to arrive. Yesterdays workout: 5x5 squat 5x5 walking lunge 30 jumping jacks NO planks or pushups because my thumbs have been hurting the past few days 5x5 Arms with 5lb dumbbells I was watching stranger things while working out and i could have done more because all that felt easy but that show sucked me in. My thesis had me pulling my hair out last night; i was 350 words over the word limit and had to ruthlessly take out some very good sciency stuff which i'm sure was important. Oh well. Abstract writing tonight and then final check over before it's sent away tomorrow. I will wave it goodbye with a glass of wine and a sigh of relief! 6 Quote Link to comment

It is, i watched 4 episodes last night, my cat kept me company because its creepy but half way through i think the third ep i figured i should get up and do something to work off the 3 brownies i ate for dinner 2 Quote Link to comment

Phoenix91
One of my main goals from last challenge was to finish my thesis; well, i've just uploaded the finished version to my schools assignment management service for marking. It's done and it's gone and i am so glad to see the back of it. 5 Quote Link to comment

Phoenix91
Wednesday workout: 5x5 squat 5x5 walking lunge 5x15s plank 5x5 Arms & rows & flys (5lb dumb bells) My workout might seem boring (and trust me it is) but at least it's consistent. The barbell and weights should be here some time next week, I have a feeling the weights will be here first because Amazon are strange and their ship times are a bit crazy. I really can't wait to shake it up a bit and add more stuff. I would have gone for a walk or something too if it wasn't cold and rainy. As far as being more stable in my life is concerned, I have plans for the weekend to ride and I also will clean my house and get all my school crap out away (it's literally covering every surface right now). I'm also going to make up a list of things that need fixing and doing around the house, like my truck door handle is broken, my garage door opener hasn't worked since last year and I really need to finish grouting the tiles around my fireplace. Little things you know?! 3 Quote Link to comment
Phoenix91
No workout today and none tomorrow (because i am cultured and have theater tickets to see the Dayton philharmonic). However, my goals are coming along nicely. I got a UPS notification, my weights and barbell will arrive tomorrow Excited! So my quest to be strong like Steve is on track. This post doesn't have enough beefcake yet so... .... oh and yesterday i carried the 50 lb bags of plaster and emptied them into the storage bin. I do it often and yet the guy who rents space from us feels like he has to offer to do it for me every time, he thinks he's being helpful but it just comes across as condescending, so i love getting to do it when he's there so i can say "nope, i got it". I also weighed myself on the scale at work for funsies and i'm up to 98.5 lbs I'm realizing that my goal of being built like Bucky might be hard to do in pictures as there are literally no screen shots of Sebastian's muscles from the films (except tws and it's just sad), so i'll just have to be built like Bucky's left arm. I think under the umbrella of getting my life to be more stable i should have included some kind of socializing goals. I am a hermit, mostly due to working and doing school the rest of the time but also because i don't really do well in social situations. I hate meeting new people, it's awkward and i come across badly. BUT i am considering going to a games night that a group i met on meetup are running; i've been to a few things they've organized, i used to attend their book club every month but school go in the way of that and i took a friend along to a snow tubing event a few years ago and had a great time. So maybe boardgames? Maybe not... might just rejoin the book club. 1 Quote Link to comment

At the moment I do roleplaying on Saturday nights and I have a friend I watch TV with after lifting. Boardgames can be good because it gives you an activity to focus on, but I personally get bored too quickly My mini-challenge (unwritten) has been to keep on top of the Warriors Challenge forum and that's been really interesting, watching how people have been going, so I look forward to hearing whether you rejoin the bookclub What kind of books do they read? 1 Quote This Challenge - 2022 Restart Me on Fitocracy 2016: First Challenge | Fortress Siege #1 | Fortress Siege #2 | Fortress Siege #3 Link to comment

Roleplaying sounds fun! Right now i have the people i ride with at the weekend, who i really only have horses in common with. And that's about it. I'm early 30s and my friend circle are in their 60s so yes i need more friends. I get bored too but with the winter coming in (i know, it's only fall but thats really winter to me. i hate the cold) i figured an indoor thing would be the best option. Plus i know some of them from book club so it might be less awkward. They read anything and everything. Next month, which i will miss as i will be in Tulsa squeezing the life out of Sebastian Stan, they're doing Emma which i have read and it's very good. I'll have to find out what November's book is. A book i really really enjoyed that they did was called "to say nothing of the dog" by connie willis. i recommend it! I've really enjoyed reading other challenges too, i mostly don't get to reply or keep up that well but i am reading most of them and it's been fun. Quote Link to comment
Phoenix91
Amazon had numerous failures today. The box my barbell turned up in was mangled; no packing material at all so the bar destroyed the box. Sadly a power head for my fish tank was also in the box at some point but when it arrived no power head was to be found, it's probably in some UPS warehouse in pieces They're sending me a replacement. In the second box was supposed to be 4 x 5 lb grip plates and 2 x 7.5 lb grip plates. Instead i got no 5 lbs and 4 x 7.5 lbs. Clearly amazon want me to lift more weight! According to their customer service they no longer have any 5 lb plates so issued me a refund. I've got 10 lb plates coming Monday so we'll see what laughable condition the box is in when it arrives. The poor UPS guy had me checking everything and seemed a bit sad the box was in such poor condition, he's our usual guy and lives across the street from me and got a little excited when he found out i was going to be lifting weights Quote Link to comment

Phoenix91
Missed my workout tonight because I came home from my violin lesson feeling like a giant failure. I wasn't prepared and I sounded like crap. I also have eaten cereal today and not much else so I'm running on fumes. Oh and I dropped a pound which I guess comes from the not eating and having no actual food In the house. I suck at adulting, I should probably work on that. But hey at least I'm not yelling at my spouse and slamming doors like my new neighbors were at 7 am this morning :/ no wonder my day went down the crapper having to listen to that. Phoenix91
After yesterdays crash and burn I've pulled myself together a bit. Went shopping and I am making dinner right now, lentil sauce and twisty pasta it's got as much protein as a vegan dinner can have . It'll also do as leftovers for tomorrow and I have the next few days food planned out too. Not eating much over the weekend was a bad idea and it left me drained and crabby, I've also got got my workout planned for later this evening, I'm slightly annoyed the clips haven't arrive yet for the barbell and don't feel comfortable adding weight without them there (for safety, something might fall off and kill a cat). So I'm still on the same old same old, might add more reps tonight as I can't add more weight. 5 Quote Link to comment

This whole Amazon order has been a cluster fuck really. Yes pics when all the shiny things arrive. At least I got 2 free 7.5 plates from them, because they sent them and I'm not sending them back. Apparently there's a store near me that carries second hand sport gear, I'm going to go see if they have any 5 lb plates, I just don't want to pay shipping. 2 Quote Link to comment
