RedStone
I need to get back on the gain train!! As expected, food has been off, and even on celebration food days I'm not getting enough and certainly not the right kind. Last week I hit 1600-ish pretty often and man, I was wrecked in the gym today. Groggy and fatigued, and that's on almost 11 hours of restful sleep! More food is in my future. Speaking of getting wrecked, there has been some talk about epic plyo jump fails lately, and being the good little lemming nerd that I am, decided it was about time to get that experience under my belt! I've been ready for more height for a few weeks, but our ledge increases in 6" increments. I've been nervous about the next height, (and lazy about setting up the stepper thing), but decided today was the day to give it a go. I landed the first two easily with that little run first, so I went for the stationary... did not go so well. Shin smarted for 20 mins or so until I could walk it off. Pretty glad I don't have DLs for another week... Anyhoos, here's the rest: ~Squats~ 5/45# 5/115# 4X5/135# ~Sumo Deadlifts~ 5/135# 5/155# 4X5/165# (wraps) ~SS Leg Press~ 4X12/157# ~Romanian Dead Lifts~ 4X10/65# ~SS Calf Raises~ 10/10# plates 3X10/15# KBs ~Box Jumps~ X10 X2 32" OOOOOOW on 3 ~Hyper Extensions~ 3X10/25# Plate I was kind of nervous putting on the big plates for the squat. It's getting close to my last working weight and I'm trying to make sure I'm breaking parallel. it went pretty well, the first 3 sets were solid and I even got a few ATGs in there! The last set was meh. Light headed, maybe broke down on form. At least I know what my working weight is for lower squats TBC for more working next week. (Okay, and maybe just a teeny bit on Friday too ) I think it's a good idea for me to be going for more power on lower reps. I think I may also be coming down with some sort of cold, or a terrible illness or something! All morning I had this nagging feeling that I'd rather be benching than doing squats and deadlifts, even though I benched yesterday and will be benching again on Thursday. Does anyone know what this terrible affliction is known as? Is there a cure??? Am I suffering from... BRONESIA?????? That is all. 6 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

Also you aren't alone with bronesia lol every time I am doing leg day I am secretly dreaming of bench. (psst... sometimes I do some DB curls during my rest between sets to keep the addiction at bay lol) 2 Quote Link to comment

Good, good *rubs palms together* my challenge is rubbing off on all the warriors... Now to continue the evil plan..... MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sorry about the shin though, ouch! See, this is why you should just bench all the things, all the time. None of this jumping nonsense. And eat more you can do it! I see what you did there Yeah, apparently I gave my self a nice lil injury just so I wouldn't have to leg day anymore this week (JK - it's just a really really bad bruise. I don't think I get a pass for something like that, no matter how much it smarts...SIGH) EATING! I'm bloated and up a few pounds so that's annoying, probs cause I keep eating the junks. All good though, gearing up for better food programing starting next week, and just trying to keep the cal count up at a reasonable place until then. Apparently one week of not so great habits probably won't kill me hehe 3 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment
RedStone
Rest day update! Adulting is well underway, laundry done, hair dyed and blown, fridge cleaned out and groceries/cooking planned for this afternoon/evening. So far as spaces that need cleaning - full disclosure - I just really really want that coloring book! Worked on the office space and it is officially functional for studying! (And quite comfortable so far too I may need a bolster pillow eventually for lower back support, enter the skull latch hook...) I don't quite get the coloring book yet, the pile of papers on the left side of the deck are my backlog of medical bills to pour through to see what I actually can argue with the insurance company about. Hopefully now that there is space to spread out I'll see about tackling that finally! But for now, time to keep studying! Otherwise, I have to admit that my shin wang is kind of awful. It woke me up in the middle of the night throbbing something terrible - I'm guessing I wanged it again in my sleep, maybe against my other leg or something like that. Resting it's okay, tender to the touch and aches when I arch my foot, so I'm hoping it isn't a problem for lower hyper on Friday, but I'm optimistic. At it's worst I'm guessing it would be a little distracting but I don't think it would be harmful to train on! Too bad... #foreverbench 5 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

I've been following the Nerd Fitness emails and website for a long time and I remember reading a few articles on how you can arrange your space to put certain priorities first; since then, I try to put my musical instrument right smack-bang in the middle of the room, between the door and my gaming setup; that way, I ended up playing even just a minute or so on it each time I walked in! Having a comfy space to study will totally make the difference 1 Quote Stella :: Sprightly Elf :: Level 1 Me! :: Battle log :: Challenge Link to comment

Phoenix91
Sorry you banged your shins, ouch! Rest, then rest more, as long as your arms still function properly you'll be good. Your desk looks very tidy, i'm impressed. I vacuumed my upstairs tonight, planned to do the whole house but my cat was playing with mounds of paper in the living room and who disturbs cats when they're having fun? Definitely not me. 2 Quote Link to comment
RedStone
Ho dear. This was very much expected, but one of our betta fish succumbed last night. He had a really good run, 2.5 years since we got him, and who knows how old he was then... He was never the strongest or healthiest little guy and we've brought him back from illness before, but this time did him in. Adam was crushed when he left the house this morning, Jelly was truly his first beloved pet. Funeral pyre planned for this evening, and I'm moving Princess over to Jelly's old spot so Adam can complain to her about how she's not Jelly. (Not in his tank, it needs to be sterilized first.) Once the hurt has softened some, we'll put together the new aquarium we've been talking about with a small school of neons maybe, some snails and shrimps and such. SIGH. Poor boy, he will be missed. Jord
I'm sorry to hear about your fish. May he be resting in fish nevernever land. Regarding work spaces. I had my computer as a standing desk in the bedroom up until yesterday. This was so that we could also use to watch netflix in bed. But with my starting the project management class and doing the wedding planning, it's just not practical to be standing that long any more. I moved it yesterday to the sewing room and I literally sighed with relief to have a comfortable workspace! It's amazing how much a good workspace can put you in the mood to be productive. I'd say that you have made excellent progressive, you have a whole desk surface now that isn't covered in books! 3 Quote Jǫrð, Delvian Nomad - Level 12 { Battle Log } Link to comment
Phoenix91
Sorry about your fish. I keep a ten gallon tank running with the sole purpose of putting a sick betta in it, if there's one at the store which looks close to death it usually comes home with me. They don't live long but the one i have now is going strong at 2 years. 4 Quote Link to comment

One of those stacks was originally an attempt at a standing desk (did I mention that a million challenges ago?) and it's true, it's just not practical for an on going thing. One of the best solutions I ever had was in the photo studio at the factory in Brooklyn. There were days that I was on my feet all day shooting, so I wanted to sit and rest during post production, but other days where I wanted to stand. The guys in the shop built me a platform to raise up my keyboard, but it was alls about the chair... it could go high enough so I could sit at the standing level ergonomically. Just a perfect storm of good dimensions! Isn't it the best when everything just feels right? 1 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment
Stellakin
Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your fish! I used to work as an aquarist in a marine biology centre, working with all sorts of ocean fish; and despite that, I've always loved the humble betta. They just such feisty little personalities! Not to mention how handsome they are! 1 Quote Stella :: Sprightly Elf :: Level 1 Me! :: Battle log :: Challenge Link to comment
