Ummm....

placeholder for an actual challenge?

It is zero week and all...and I lifted today, and I have a compulsion to post about it. 

 

Deload week, in pounds:

Deadlift

2 x 5 at 45 RDL

1 x 5 at 95

3 x 5 at 135

 

OHP (from yesterday - whoopsies)

3 x 5 at 45

power rack was occupado, so I used the incline bench, and I don't care who looked at me cock-eyed. 

Random comment from a regular:

"I've never seen you with your hair down before." 

???

Sometimes in moments of great darkness, I wonder if this is the root of my obsession with zero week.... but then I switch the light on and it's time for A ZERO WEEK PARTY!!!!!! ZERO WEEK!!!!

So it's been a while - I am blaming zero week.  I trained Thursday, doing both bench and squats because I knew that I wouldn't be able to go to the gym on Friday.  Gym was fine, although AGAIN a guy decided that he would choose - of the FIVE empty benches - the one directly behind the squat rack.  While I was in it.  Reeeeediculous, that crap is.   (It's not like I have a great booty, just a regular one - I seriously don't understand why this continues to happen to me.) 

 

Home Gym update - we are about halfway finished installing the walls.  I am SUPER pleased and will post pics tomorrow.  The material is a tad bit difficult to work with, since we are using it outside of spec, but it looks nice and clean, which is what I wanted.  We ended up getting it for $0.39 per sq foot, so a little installation difficulty is definitely worth it!!! 

 

also....OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG - my power cage arrived this week!!!!!!  Since the floor isn't installed yet, it is still in the box and in the storage shed, but I am super duper excited.  I am going to do ALL THE CURLZ in it, too! ;-)

 

Cutting is going well.  I have tracked each day (except for some reason last Sunday; I will check the husband's MFP to see what he ate and try to recreate it.

 

Finally - I need to actually write out my goals for this challenge.  That is going on tomorrow's to-do list.

Goals:

1.  Finish the HomeGym Training Studio  aka PALACE OF GAINZ.  Post pics to share my excitement. 

2.  Track all the food while sticking to 1780 cal/day.  I am okay with 100 cal deviation either way as long as a good faith effort is made. 

3.  Deal with the people at the gym until my space is finished and trainable. 

 

Training Studio two Fridays ago

Training Studio this past Friday - insulation installed!  (4 walls + ceiling = a crap ton of work)

Training Studio Today!  The walls are about 60% clad.  We ended up using engineered flooring for the walls because we didn't want the work of drywall, plus the area is humid, and we only run the A/C when we are in it, so drywall is a poor choice. Yesterday went really well, but we ran into a bit of a stumbling block today with a stubborn wall stud (aka - a break in the space-time continuum where the laws of physics are suspended and materials react in strange and perplexing ways) and a family obligation kept us from figuring it out.  So that will happen over the week or next weekend.  We really got a lot accomplished!!!

Construction definitely has a mind of its own, doesn't it? Hope you get that wall hiccup figured out without a lot of headache so you can get lifting there soon.

It's like a humidor that you use to keep gainz from drying out. Well done.

It does kinda look like a dojo - I'll post pics again this weekend after the floor and ceiling go up.  Floor should be easy, not so sure about the ceiling, but hopefully!

I am truly tired of construction.  I suck at it, I don't like hurting myself, and it makes lifting the next day harder.  Soon it will be no more...soon...the husband thinks that he figured out how to fix the rift in the continuum without taking down pieces.  Fingers crossed.
