Silmarilliane's Fifteenth Challenge

Good morrow fellow adventurers!

Apologies for the huge absence over the last few months, hope you have all been well and adventuring good and proper :)

As per my last challenge (back in the day), I'm working on adding little things that I can do on a daily basis without having to think about them, so the whole getting healthier and stuff can be sustainable.

Currently I do the following:
- 2.5 minute squat when I brush my teeth in the evenings
- 25 press-ups when I get out of bed, on every morning I go to work
- 10 minute jog on every morning I go to work
- 3x10 reps on the dumbbells/barbell each morning I go to work (Mon, Wed, Fri - biceps curls and lateral raise, Tue, Thu - bent over rows and military press)
- commute walkings (just over a mile from home to tube, and again from tube to work)

So my commute walkings have got a bit lazy and I tend to hop on the bus if it's there. Also the jog is sometimes cut short depending on how tired I am in the mornings. I've also got pretty bad with calorie counting (as in, I'm just not), and am getting back on the flabby side...

So, goals for this challenge:
- Calorie count staying under 1900 at least 4 days per week
            - sub-clause: don't eat like a dick on the other days
- Make press-ups an everyday thing
            - sub-clause: catch ups allowed if I forget
- Do full commute walk at least 4 out of 5 days per week
            - sub-clause: walk time can be made back at lunch or after work
- If I cut short the jog two days in one week, I have to go for a 20 minute run at the weekend or one evening that week
            - sub-clause: none, but I wanted the list to be neat

Points and scoring

Keeping things simples, I will either pass or fail for each week. I need to pass three out of the four weeks to pass the challenge and level up.

Boom.

How is your challenge going?  Are you using MFP to track or calories or some other way?  If you are looking for something easy to add to your routine that you can do at home you might consider checking out the darebee daily dare.  its a fun way to start your day, usually pretty quick to complete and can be done just about anywhere.  NF has a darebee daily dare PVP if you are interested in additional accountability.

OMG, my phone is being WELL rude and not giving me notifications!

I'm tracking on mfp (same username if you want to stalk!), but that daily dare site looks... interesting. May have to check in on non-work days to get some extra working out in :)

I really don't think I'll be doing anywhere near enough to get on the scoreboard for the PVP though so will stick to daring solo.

Week 1 update!

Despite being a lazy bum and getting the bus on my very first day (before I decided I was going to challenge), I successfully walked all the rest of the walk days, except Friday which was pub day. I did enough lunch time walkings to justify this to myself, and made sure I walked home the other end.

Calories were a success Monday - Thursday, so that's a pass for the challenge, but I let myself down because I ate like a dick Friday - Sunday (MacMillan cake bake day and a Christening up north for the weekend, and you know what they're like with food... :P ) Saying that, the WORST english breakfast I've had probably ever - lets just say it's like it had been 'air cured' for a few hours...

Did my full run every day (yeay me, and the first full week in at least several months)

Remembered to do my press-ups at the weekend

So in total, not the best I could have done, but I pass by my rules so am putting the week down as a win, espech as I'm getting back into it :)

Week 2 update!

So this challenge has definitely made me aware of how much I'd started taking the bus instead of walking... I did a couple of bus journeys last week, but they were part way and I made sure I walked extra to make it back.

Calories were all good except Thursday (work team drinks), Friday (went out in the evening) and Saturday (generally wanted to eat foods). Ate possibly a bit less like a dick, but still not ideal on these days. I think next challenge I'll reduce this to 2/7 days a week are allowed over. Or some such clause that means I get bonus points if I go over less days.

Full run again every morning. This week I'm off work Thursday/Friday so I'll do the 20 minute weekend run instead methinks.

Pressups remembered again, huzzah!

So again, passed week. On to week three...

So, there's a slight possibility I failed last week. Ok, I totes failed last week.

All was going well Monday-Wednesday, but then had the afternoon off work and Thu-Fri off to go to a wedding in Lincolnshire so calories kinda went out the window. Or actually into my stomach. All of them.

I completely forgot to do press-ups from Friday onward, and also didn't make back jog times at the weekend. So yes. Fail.

However, today is a new day and the final week of the challenge. Huzzah!

Also to note, the wedding was AMAZING and incredibly geeky - each attendee was given a Player Guide which included Welcome, Dramatis Personae, a Walkthrough, World Map (of tables), Side Quests and more. The tables were named Redfield, Dresden, Hyrule, Aincrad, Black Mesa, Rapture and Isengard :D

Final week and challenge summary!

After my failings of week 3 I powered through week 4 got a clean sweep, huzzah! I have therefore allowed myself to level up and will be putting a new challenge up shortly.
