SPEZZY IS BACK

Gah, that photo!

Also, just... Thank you. I remember you from back in the day and I was at once inspired (which I've told you) and honestly a bit intimidated. I read your story and thought something akin to "She's a special case. There's no way I could do anything like that!" I don't mean that I thought you had magic genes or anything that let you fling barbells around. It was more selfish than that. I didn't think I had it in me to put in the work that you'd so obviously dedicated to yourself. I found myself faced with this (quite literally) powerful woman who'd struggled and been strong enough to share that struggle so that others might benefit. That's so beautiful. And at some point, something clicked for me and I've been on this journey ever since! I'm still not even close to where I want to be, but I never feel despair over that anymore. I feel like I have a direction to move in and that's largely because of you.

So thank you for all the work you've put into this community. Thank you for continuing to share your gorgeous self with the Rebellion. I know you're going to kick ass through this challenge and on through the rest that have yet to come! <3

Someone please link me somewhere to buy that toothbrush.

Are you like me, and you clean your sink and mirror before taking bathroom selfies?

Love you so much girl, it's been so great to see how far you've come in such a short amount of time. Would you have thought at camp 2 years ago you'd be pulling 340lbs (WITH EASE) at the comp????? So so so so proud of you that you decided to push and start believing that you could do it too :)

Absolutely amazing.

That crow to side crow was beautiful. I tried to learn side crow a year ago and wasn't flexible enough, but I'm starting to think I need to pick it up again. I love your third goal so much. I didn't go to camp, but having you all come back ready to share your nerdy/dorky selves with the world makes me want to too. And yay for enjoying doing all the things!

Congrats on the saving goal. It takes discipline, which you so clearly display in many areas of health and fitness. To then display it in other areas of life as well is truly impressive.

This made me re-read a piece from the Motley Fool about the rungs of savings goals.

So at 15 million they say you don't have to teach your dog tricks anymore and let her go back to just being a dog. And you can stop swiping your friends books for resale.

At 50K you should celebrate with a balloon ride. 5K a full weekend off of work.

And goofy things like that.

Thank you!  I've found myself really interested in the transitions lately and follow a ton of people on IG who are so good at it and I feel like I fall on my ass more often than not... but slowly getting better? :)

And the #CampMagic is real. Being in a place surrounded by other people who just accept you and you're not afraid to be you is a rare, rare thing.

Just teasing, of course! :panda:  Getting there requires the multiplication of a couple of pretty big numbers.  (What you start with time how much it grows)

Throwing this out there:  One of these years, I am hopeful about having somebody like the Gardener brothers talk about money and investing in a way that is not the same old recycled advice - in fact counters the same old recycled advice.  Some of us here might follow different people.  (And it has been a long while since I followed TMF and maybe they are on FB!)

Looking up their general advice for where I am at - Hmm.  Playing Hard to Keep and trying to score tix to a football game from my FA seems to be a great idea!

EDIT:  Looked up.  Liked!  Will find out later if they still offer good advice.  vil2_joker.gif

Yes, but I think that last year I was so busy teaching and being a part of team NF that I had less opportunities to connect with people on the level that I did this year. And that was everything to me.

Honestly for the most part, it's all fun - it's when you get to world record holding levels that it just takes a lot more, because if you want that, you need to give it everything.

okay, last few days:

1) I've been having a hard time making it back to the gym, but going today and will be back on regular schedule next week. I've had some sort of Camp Crud bug that made 225 for 3 sets of 8 on deadlifts feel absolutely heavy on Thursday and anytime 225 feels heavy... it's time to swallow my pride and go home. So taking it easy today, back to big lifts Monday.

2)  I finally got my scorpion pose! :D

3) Ive done this twice. Will get back on and do it for real.

4) Good so far. Social a few times, and have plans sunday. Plus, I'm saying Nerd Google hangouts kind of count. Because any sort of seeing my nerds is magic.

5) Madi's on her first week of anxiety meds and honestly not interested in going out and just wants to sleep. The vet said it would take her time to adjust. Last night she just kept walking around putting her head on things and falling asleep standing like that. So my focus with her has mainly been cuddling and comforting her.
