The Houses of Hogarts are Gryffindor - values the virtues of courage, bravery and determination Hufflepuff - values hard work, patience, justice, and loyalty Ravenclaw - values intelligence, creativity, learning, and wit Slytherin - values ambition, cunning, leadership, and resourcefulness I'll post what each house's mini on Monday/Tuesday of that week, and you pick which house you want to participate in ... its 4 weeks of challenge so you can go through all 4 houses. It wasn't gross, but it wasn't pleasant either. I can appreciate the crispness and freshness it gives to a salad, but the aroma is too overwhelming. I have actually been enjoying fried cucumbers and rice on several occasions recently. I could go for it again. 110 % of 5km is only 5.5km, which is less than what I did last week (6km). I'm in the middle of reading a few books and making little progress due to them not being a priority. Adding another book would be a bad idea, even though I really do want to pick up a few new things for inspiration in my RPG GMing. Maybe I'm not that interested in the books I'm reading and I should dump them for something new. I'll be at the library on Wednesday night. Borrowing a skill could be on the table. My back is not up for Warrior training, Scout and Ranger skills are out of bounds for me in the spirit of the mini, I am already borrowing Assassin skills participating in their minis, and I'm doing Monk stuff for the Ranger mini this week. Druid could be the way to go. I already meditate daily, but I could expand on it. Or I could do Yoga or Tai Chi. I need to think about my choice here a bit more before I decide. I also picked up two more short term classes, so this may prove to be the limits of my ambitions... Week 2 is also Slytherin -- I've been druiding hardcore on Sundays, and I like it Hot yoga! That guy had some great tips. I'm not very good with voices, but I can watch my word choice per character background and education, then prepare some lines or catch-phrases with that in mind. Now is a good time to finish it. Along with the Cave Troll, I decided to change the main witch villain's bodyguards from boring humans to menacing undead Orc Skeletons, which the PCs will need enchanted weapons to defeat. I have a few options prepped to get them enchanted weapons, but if they are smart, then they won't encounter the orc skeletons and only see them, but from previous experience, these characters will be loud and attract attention. I struggle with communicating, because I am shy and lack confidence in myself, because I am not witty or clever, but I try to be and it mostly results in embarrassing myself. This week I am at a conference for work where I know nobody. Also, I have my Toastmasters "Communicating on Video" manual to start. I need to make some new friends at the conference and record a 3 minute editorial for my Extra Life event to send to my friends. Should be fun and challenging! I made a few friends at the conference, then a few more singing Karaoke at a bar in Tombstone. Lots of old country from an older crowd, but I rocked AC/DC "You Shook Me All Night Long" and Guns N Roses "Paradise City" with my raspy screaming. It was a lot of fun and got a free beer from one of those new friends. Too bad I'll likely never see those ole cowboys and girls again. The Toastmasters / Extra Life video speech isn't ready yet. We didn't have power until late in the week, so any progress I could have make on laundry, cleaning out the fridge, etc was stalled. By the time I could actually do chores, I was firmly rooted into a comfy chair and just wanted to stay curled up under a blanket. Anyway, I'm finally getting into the swing of things again.
