Well, after taking the summer off, it's time to get back to it. I've seriously missed this community and all the accountability. Small goals, just getting back into it.
 

 

 

  • I will workout 3x/wk - MFP
  • I will remain within my caloric goal - MFP
  • I will get at least 7500 steps on non-w/o days - fitbit


Bonus - I will meal prep and make weekly menus accordingly.

Got my workout in this morning!!! I've been doing The Firm Get Chisel'd and 500 Calorie Workout alternating every other day. 

 

I love when you start a workout and it's super hard and as time goes on it gets easier and easier. I am, however, sooooo sore. Yay DOMS <_<

So far so good on the working out. I haven't skipped one yet and I just ordered 3 more DVD's, since the two I have in rotation are becoming redundant.

 

I have been surprising myself with how well I have been staying within my calories. I made the mistake of jumping on the scale yesterday. I haven't lost any weight (surprise surprise), but my clothes are fitting so much better. Facepalm moment when I knew I should've measured before I started. It really isn't all that important, but its nice to have numerical data showing progress. In that sense, I am having to up the amount of weight I'm lifting, so there's that.

 

Not going to lie, I've been slacking on steps. I'll have 3000 one day and 12,000 another so I figure it evens out.

 

 

This week I'm really focusing on staying hydrated. I have also started meditating, which is really new to me. I may make these two thing my goals in another challenge, but right now I'm just seeing how I do on my own.

update time!!!


So I update on the FB group a couple days ago about how it's been rough because my daughter was sick. Well, my other daughter got it as well, and now I have it. Because of that, I kind of put a hold on my challenge because I need to take care of myself. I did my workout on Monday, but then that's when the cold really hit me. I've been in sickness crisis mode since. I didn't do my workout today. Instead, I slept an extra 45 minutes, and to me, that's a win. Hopefully, I'll be back to normal for next week.

In other news, NSV! I was getting ready for bed last night and pulled a typical "bro" move. Flexed in the mirror and was seriously impressed with all the gainz,

Thanks!! The kids are pretty much all better and I am on the mend. Going to see how I feel by the end of today to determine whether or not I am going to get my work out in tomorrow, or if I'm going to take the weekend to get 100%. I want to err on the side of caution, but I also don't want to slack. Oh, the fine line. lol

I pulled a muscle in my back early last week, but i just can't not do squats... I'm walking that same line... ;)

In other news.... I got back to lifting this morning. I missed it so much. Felt amazing. This stupid sinus/head cold thing is hanging around still, and I feel like my heads going to explode. Not fun. I spent the majority of yesterday with the worst sinus headache. One of my daughters is also still suffering through it. Going on two weeks now and I am SOOOO over it.

Workouts: I generally lift M-W-F, with active rest days T-TH-S. Sunday is family day. Last week, I took off W-F due to being sick.

Caloric goal: I have been eating above my current goal, but not too much more than maintenance, again, due to being sick. I did splurge over the weekend. I am back to eating within my goal this week.

Steps: Oh, steps. How I try so hard to do this. With the storms we have been having and being back at my desk job, this is a task and a half. I will not be defeated.

 

Meal prep: The past two weeks, I haven't made my weekly menus. I will try to get back to it next challenge.

Guys. GUYS!!!! It's carb load day. Yes, I said DAY. Don't judge me.  All is well in the world.

  • DOMS are evil. Truly.
  • Deadlifts are my favorite.
  • Why do I feel like my body is on fire?
  • I have perfected my form for squats!! Do ALL THE SQUATS!!!
  • Single leg deadlifts? YASSSSS

well fml.

Just as I was starting to get better and NOT be sick after TWO weeks, I am sick again. Started getting a fever around 2 yesterday. At 5 it was 99.5 and by 7:30 it was 101.  Finally, my fever broke around 11 last night. Not quite sure how high it got because I slept it off. Woke up this morning and I'm pretty sure it's strep. Yay me.

Which leads me to this: I think I have been getting sick and not getting better because I take on too much and never take time for myself. I am so thankful next week is week 0. I am taking the week to take care of myself. I will take boiling hot baths. I will lay down and read. (I'm FINALLY reading A Game of Thrones. SOOOO much better than the show). I will destress and relax. I seriously need to take care of myself, that's for sure.

Finished up week four by going to the doctor. Confirmed strep and got antibiotics as well as a referral to the ENT to have my tonsils removed. Sooooo not looking forward to that. I've heard soooo many horror stories. However I know it'll be worth it in the long long run. 

 

This challenge has been rough on me. I got sick week two and finished week four with antibiotics. Luckily, my last day of meds is the first day of week 1 of the new challenge. (I start on Mondays lol). I didn't stray too much from what I needed to do this time around, though.

Workouts - I did mostly all of them, except when I was sick, which is a win.

Caloric Goal - Also stayed within my goal, and when sick, stayed at maintenance. At the doctor I hadn't gained or lost anything. YAYYYY

Steps - I did better than I give myself credit for. Even on my sick days I had minimum 6000. Another reason I need to reevaluate my definition of "rest", though.

 

Now... on to the next challenge. Bring on week 0.

Eeek! Hubs had his tonsils out a few years ago and was off work for 2 weeks. Nothing really horrible, it's just extra hard on adults apparently. We were warned ahead of time so he had already planned on the two weeks.
