Tash's search for the Holy Grail

I know I'm a little bit to late. But I missen only five days, which is only a pitty for one of the challenges I made.

  • first, I think it is important as a beginner to try to go every Workout day to them gym. So that's CHALLENGE 1: do not miss any workout, even if I don't get enough sleep, I should try it during the day or evening (I love training in the morning, specialy because the gym is not to busy at that time)
  • CHALLENGE 2: try to sleep at least seven hours a day
  • CHALLENGE 3: drink 2l water a day, water or tea

Hey. Solid goals. Good luck. For me, getting a good amount of sleep is the hardest.

Hi!  Curious:  What is your definition of the Holy Grail?

Hm, I'm thinking of things people need to "upgrade" their life. But only, one certain thing, the ultimate upgrade. And after that their can be another upgrade. So in fact the true Grail  can never be found and is different for everybody. But the search for it should be the thing that chances you mostly. So the Grail is both the path and the goal. In most stories that tel about a certain search for a Holy or godly object or an almost impossible goal (finding the Holy Grail, bringing balance to the force, destroying the one ring, killing Voldemort,...) the path to those goals is most important in my opinion.

I think same can be said about making the "perfect" body. The steps are most important because without them you can't get anywhere and at certain times some steps will get you close to your goal than others. Most people always want their body to be better, so the search to the Grail is never done.

oh Yes, in the stories I named when the heroes have finished their goal they always die (or go away from society or something...)

edit: sorry If I read over certain auto corrections...

I do 5x5, today I did something wrong in the shoulder press and probably took too much weight on my under back. So that's really painfull right now, hopefully its over for when my next workout starts. I will try to overhead press, this lift is a bit intimidating for me, couldnt make the deadlift either today.

that begin said I have a battle log so you can follow my progress there.

Welcome to week two of the challenge!  How is your sleep?  Two things that help me out are 1.  screen curfew.  about an hour before I get into bed I power down.  like read or journal or chat with my boys, but no screens.  2.  sleep mask.  need to block out all the ambient light from chargers and alarm clocks and other things in the room.  both help me to wind down.  Also, no snooze button in the morning.  just get up and get going.  sometimes I'll start my day with the daily dare from darebee.  I think having a routine helps whether it's a routine to go to bed or to get up in the morning.  Good luck with your goals and keep us posted!

Thanks. Sleep isnt big of a problem its mostly accepting that I need sleep and dont sacrifice it for other things. So going to bed instead of going out to much or sleeping one or two hours longer instead of going to the gym. Although I dont understand how you wake up without a snooze... Can you explain that please?

I'm assuming she means she still wakes up withan alarm but doesn't reset it for an extra 10 mins or whatever

I used to be really bad at it - but the last 3 weeks I'm up at the same time everyday. Seem to be sleeping a bit better. I will let myself go back to bed for 30-60mins on the weekends if I feel like I need it.

It's going good here. For a moment I was scared because I had a small backstrain because of some bad movement. I skipped my workout day but did it on thursday and the one I should have done today will be tommorow. So I fixed that.

The drinking part goes also very well, certainly on my lifting days. I even get to drink almost 3l on those day.

Sleeping Goes ok. Only I experience I wake up automatically around 5 or 6 in the morning on my days I dont need to go to the gym, maybe my biological clock can't follow the different wake up hours and I should do somethign about this. Not sure about this...

Had an accident with my bike and my knee got dislocated, it came back itself but I recognised the feeling. Hurts like hell. Probably cant squat or deadlift right know.  And going to the gym to only do a bench or overhead press seems stupid. I will have to wait untill my leg is healed. I hope I will be ok against next week. This is a big problem...

when my alarm goes off I just get up.  It's hard some times.  An extra 10 minutes always seems like it would be a great idea but it's not a great rest when I snooze so I just make myself to get up.  As a fall back I immediately make my bed so I won't be tempted to climb back in :)

I'm sorry about your injury.  I hope the final week of the challenge is a good one.  You'll still be good with two of your original goals!  Change the other or sub a different one for the final week.

Tried it, didn't go well. My back did got blocked, (I have that often in autumn, due to my handicap and lack of flexibility).

whatever this means I lost 6 points on this challenge. (24/30 I guess)

i also did slib back with the drinking part the last days, so that's (54,5/60)

Sleeping went ok.

well, I don't know If this is the right place but I feel like blowing of some steam because my day was a mess. First of all I didn't do anything productive today, nor did I learned something I got used. I only got punched in my face (quite literally) while learning a new printmaking technique (I'm clumsy, certainly If I have to come up from sitting down while balancing some kind of bucket with ink in). Whatever, everything was covered in purple ink...

next I had the opportunity to ask a guy out, and I'm frustrated I didn't. (Maybe some good idea for the next challenge)

So I hoped I could spent an evening with friends and visit some galeries tonight but I had to 'babysit' on my sister...
