Sara Kingdom Does Witching the Nanny Ogg Way

I have big RL upheaval and stuff to do, so I don't really have time for a full challenge.  But I do need to keep on track with all the stuff that needs to get done.  So this is a very simple challenge:

  • 5 points for any fitness crap I do (workout, yoga, meditation, in bed on time)
  • n points for getting the big things finished
  • n points for any particularly Oggish behavior (including, superior witching, drinking, swearing, terrorizing family members, etc.)

Also, there will be intensely NSFW songs.  Intensely.  Really not safe for many people at all.

I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever.

Does anyone here want to know precisely why the hedgehog is so very fortunate among all the members of the animal kingdom?

Eh, it'll all be blocked when it has to be.

Depending on where she sources the lyrics, it will likely be in British English, so we can pretend it's educational*.  Plus, witches are good at inyouend...inuenn...saying things that mean other things.

*Then again, given Oggish songs, we all might learn a few things, anyways.

Nanny Ogg does not seem the sort to be subtle, unless she's trying to get one past Granny Weatherwax.

Loved the witches so far. At the moment I'm reading Mascerade and rereading Nanny Oggs cookbook. ;) So I'll be here for this.

Week 0: Day 1

Now for the scariest part of a Nanny Ogg challenge: folk music.  Folk music.

Also, it's NSFW.  This is the cleanest of the ones I've collected, and it's not that clean.  It's, how shall I put it, about a gentleman's polite courtship of the animal kingdom.  But it is a traditional song for singing in pub when you're Nanny Ogg.

Right.  Onto the points.

Also, I need suggestions on how to incentivize my points this challenge.  I'm not buying stuff till December, and don't really have free time till then, so my usual loot-drops aren't really options.  (And I wouldn't know how to count them, either.)

Bon bons for the hot chocolate?  Portable, quick energy on a long day, and hey, it's chocolate.

Either something you need but you haven't bought (we tend to usually have those things, right?) or something you wouldn't normally buy for yourself? Dunno

Normally I'd have that sort of loot drop, but for reasons, I can't really buy stuff till December.  I guess I could earn prizes and get them later, but it doesn't quite close the positive reinforcement loop in the best way.

Okay, what about time??? I'd reward myself to do some less productive activities that I enjoy without allowing myself to feel guilty for doign it... like watching DC's Legends of Tomorrow (guilty pleasure) or playing Clash of Clans.

One must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star.

"I'm not buying stuff till December, and don't really have free time till then", so, er, no.  Not an option till December. :)  (Major life stuff going on this challenge, which is why basically no challenge.  I'm stupidly overstretched.)

I think probably I should just, I dunno, try to earn something big over two challenges.  Not much habit reinforcement, but it's probably the best I can do.

I like the loot drop too (loot drop! love it!) but yeah, sometimes it doesn't pan out when the moneys is involved :P I'd rather get the swag (obvs) but hey yo, something to be said for just doing the thing for the sake of the thing! There's always the big pat on the back from a giant automaton golden glove filled with rivets of success and self worth to look forward to! ;)

I guess it'll have to be for the pure sanity-preserving benefits of it. :) Would be awfully nice to have extra carrots to go with the sticks, given how stressful this month is going to be, but if there are no carrots...

Excellent challenge goals. Remember that Nanny Ogg had a team of cowed daughters-in-law to do all the tedious housework. That would be a particularly good behavior to adopt. (You might have to fudge on which minions you recruit, in the absence of daughters-in-law).

How about taking time for yourself to do things you enjoy? Time looks to be highly valuable this challenge. Sit and read a book, soak in a hot bath, indulge your Oggish partying impulses...
